Enjoyable stories of Maggie Hope during WWII. She is a character with an unusual, tangled family background, wit, heart and lots of courage. With Maggie we get an interesting peek into some of the major players of WWII.
Part of a series, you see the growth in the main character in her work for England. Suspenseful. Well written characters and situations.
Have enjoyed Winspear books. Similar to Rhys Bowen – whose books I love!
Light reading with an early World War II English historical perspective about spy networks and espionage.
Another great one in the series. I HOPE there wlli be more!
This series is great. The characters are well developed and historically well researched.
I liked the historical time period and the geographical area it took place in. Very true to life.
Series so should read in order or you lose a bit of the whole storyline
I like the whole Maggie Hope series. Historical fiction is one of my favorites and she’s a strong character.
Although the book is fictional, many of the facts are true. The author has chronicled a time in history that was horrific, with inspiring, human people.
Love the series
I have read most of Susan Elia McNeal’s books and look forward to more. They are very realistic historically and in atmosphere and details. The adventure/mystery plot adds vital interest to the record of a critical time in western history. Hope is an interesting and well developed character.
Loving this WWII spy mystery series!
Love this whole series. Maggie Hope is ther heroine we all want to be, if we lived back then. Very engaging. The historical background is woven seemlessly into the plot, very believable and engrossing.
Well written, but the story line has become more repetitive with each novel.
I would look forward to this author beginning a new series with a different time period.
I have read all of the books in this series..AWESOME!!!
Realistic historical fiction. Fun characters
Historically Informational Book
I’ve enjoyed this whole series.
Maggie is dropped in Germany to plant a bug in her mother’s house – the mother she thought was dead. But along the way, she’ll meet her half sister and get caught up in the horrors of Germany in 1941. As always with the series, I was pulled into another time and place with very real characters while I was reading. A few flaws (same ones as the two previous in the series), but for the most part I enjoyed this book.
