IT’S NOT A LIE IF WE BELIEVE IT’S TRUE.That’s what Griff Foster said right after he asked me to be his wife.Sweet, isn’t he?Let’s be real: his proposal had nothing to do with romance. Falling in love isn’t in his DNA. With piercing blue eyes and a hard body to match, he goes through women like candy. But he saved my life.I promised I’d repay him. I should learn when to keep my mouth shut.Griff … him. I should learn when to keep my mouth shut.
Griff needs a Mrs. Right Now, and he’s convinced I’m the perfect actress.
In case I have any doubts, there are seven badly needed zeroes on a check with my name on it to help make up my mind.
Ugh.
We’re totally fake. Nothing but lies.
Except the way his lips feel on mine.
Except the way his touch sets my body ablaze.
Except the way my soul aches when he looks into my eyes.
He says that without me, he loses everything.
But if I’ve got the upper hand, why does it feel like he’s in control?
There’s only one thing missing from this arrangement.
What happens to my heart when it’s over?

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Griff Foster is a player. Plain and simple. So, when he saves Lily, she owes him big time and that’s what she tells him. Big mistake. Lily should have just replied thank you and kept her big mouth shut.
Soon after, Lily finds herself unemployed and looking for work. Griff is all too eager to help and tells Lily he has the perfect job for her. Griff proposes a fake marriage; one that will benefit them both. First Lily has to deal with the shock of who Griff really is. Lily assumed he was just some unassuming man who was in the right place at the right time when she needed him. But this? Griff is actually Griff Foster, heir to Foster Holdings and her soon-to-be fake husband. Lily ran from one man into another, but this one could possibly be more dangerous to her and her heart as well. No matter, Griff needs a wife to solidify his standing with Foster Holdings and Lily just so happened to stumble into his life and steal his heart. Lily just needs to keep her wits about her so when the fairytale ends, which it will, she doesn’t leave with a broken heart. What Lily doesn’t know is that Griff isn’t about to let their happily ever after vanish without a fight. He wants Lily for keeps.
SOMETIMES LOVE DOES CONQUER ALL, AND THIS AMAZING BOOK DEFINITELY PROVES THAT ! I LOVED THIS STORY AND IT’S AWESOME, LOVEABLE CHARACTERS ! ! !
MANY TWISTS AND TURNS, BUT TRUE LOVENEVER GIVES UP !
AN AWESOME, MUST READ ! ! !
This book has it all, a billionaire and a hard working heroine. They need each other in more ways that they realise, it has great believable characters that you will love.
This a great love, second chance romance with all the twists and angst to keep you glued to your seat. This story has it all, ups and downs, pain, love and shows you that sometimes love does conquer all!
Sloan is a brilliant author that I have been following since the beginning, it’s wonderful to see her writing develop and get better and better and I’m thrilled to have a new book from her, it’s been a while!!!
Griff is a player but still a hero to Lily whom he saves. Lily promises him that any way she can repay him she will. Well you know what happens… While a bit predictable in places, I did enjoy the story and appreciated Lily and her kindness. When Griff needs a wife to keep his inheritance, she has Lily be his fake wife. Only it backfires on him and he no longer wants it to end. Lily never stood a chance to not fall in love with him.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The story features Griff and Lily. Their relationship was like living Murphy’s Law. He just couldn’t get it right. I never felt his feelings towards Lily were deeper than his need to beat the clause in his grandfather’s will. Griff was VERY immature. The part about who Tabatha really was, was so far-fetched, it didn’t fit. The whole Carl thing was out-of-the-blue and it didn’t make any sense, which didn’t fit either. Even the whole Papa situation was confusing.
There was a constant flow of WAY TOO MUCH happening! Too much filler story, too many unnecessary story line threads, and too many unnecessary characters.
This was a good story about finding love when you least expect it and second chances. Griff had a proposition for Lily that Lily couldn’t refuse. Little did they now that both of them would want more. Between lies and betrayal their story will have you glued too your kindle.
