It’s Terry’s birthday and Maggie’s got a surprise for him.One full weekend at La Petite Mort Club. Together. Just the two of them — Dom and Sub. She’s a little nervous but she trusts him and she’s promised that he can do WHATEVER he wants. She means it. She does. Really. Terry’s d**k can’t wait to get started but his head and heart aren’t so sure this is a good idea. Is she ready for the Club … sure this is a good idea. Is she ready for the Club and all the kink? Is she ready to be his Sub? To obey him completely?
She’s still so unsure of her appeal as a woman. No matter what he does to prove to her how beautiful he finds her it isn’t enough. On second thought, the Club—filled with rich, attractive men—might be the perfect place to teach her how attractive she truly is.
This is a standalone story that continues the relationship of Terry and Maggie from The Dom’s Submission.

I just love Terry and Maggie. They are so good for each other. Maggie has certainly come a long way since they first met, even if she still has instances of getting too much into her head.
Terry is one of those Doms who is truly concerned with making sure his sub is comfortable and enjoying herself, and doesn’t want to push her further than she can handle. It is clear how her trust in him keeps growing. And given her love for him, in turn she wants to make him happy, which includes going to the Club.
Terry’s nickname for Maggie makes me chuckle, although it does seem to be growing on Maggie. And the sex scenes, can I say HOT!
I can’t wait to see how their relationship and play continues to grow. I’m also curious to see if Bruce will get his own story, even though is a jerk in this one.
Honestly? I loooooved ‘His Lesson’!!!
I adore Terry & how he loves Maggie (his little rabbit), how ravishingly beautiful he feels she is (down to his bones) & how he wants to be with her ALL the time. I love his protective dominance & how he wants to carefully push her limits to enable her to ‘fly’.
Terry is just so beautifully focused on his little rabbit in all ways. Everything he thinks about her: he loves her so MUCH, he WORRIES about her negative self-image & so wants to help her see just how physically desirable she really is & not only to him. Plus he SO LUSTS after her in the most deliciously wonderous way.
And I love Maggie: how she trusts Terry but is still working to fight her insecurities, how much she loves him & deeply wants to be with him. How she pushes herself to remember that she does trust him & to show Terry her trust even when it’s hard for her to do. And how as a fuller size woman with a negative self-image (thanks to a jerk of an ex-husband) she is learning to acknowledge her deep sensual desires & her true physical beauty with Terry’s unorthodox, determined but careful assistance.
Ultimately, IMO, the true beauty of this book is the LOVE that permeates every thought & interaction between Terry & Maggie.
For the reader who enjoys sizzling steam that intensely crackles off the page, characters that are beautifully fleshed out & intrigue the reader into wanting MORE of their story, for tight tense plot & enthralling writing: read this one. PLEASE!
(NOTE: To better understand Terry & Maggie’s background story I recommend reading their trilogy: ‘The Dom’s Submission’ but it isn’t required in order to enjoy ‘His Lesson’).
Terry and Maggie have built their relationship, but have yet to go back to the club together since they met. Maggie has set up a special weekend for the two of them a the club for Terry’s birthday. His Lesson is day one.
Knowing Terry, his plan had a lot of potential for blowing up in his face as he pushes Maggie out of her comfort zone in an effort to help her see how beautiful she is. Their first night at the club is HOT! A cocky dom gets Terry to offer a lesson in being a proper dom and what follows is breath taking.
Trust is the ultimate key and it creates fireworks for these two. Cannot wait for the next night.
Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. This series has been awesome cannot get enough of it. Maggie had a surprise for Terry their relationship is hot and steamy like a rollercoaster ride of emotions.

The main characters in His Lesson are Maggie and Terry. I fell in love with them when the author brought out their first 3 books. When I first met Maggie back then, her recent divorce from her ex-husband had left her wounded and with no self-confidence. The first glimpses of Terry left me feeling as though I’d just met a man who was solely a skirt-chaser, devoted only to debauchery. As their relationship developed, the physical side of their affair was off-the-charts hot, but both of them had a long way to go in getting over their emotional hang-ups. I don’t think they could see it, but it seemed as though a wonderful future lay ahead for them if they were willing to work toward it.
In His Lesson, I was so glad to see that Maggie had grown beyond some of her fears. She does things with Terry she’d never have dreamt of doing before. She has even arranged for a special weekend at the Club, La Petite Mort, for Terry’s birthday. And Terry himself is manning-up, demonstrating his willingness to interact with the children and create a lasting relationship with them. This gives Maggie even more hope and reason to trust him, with her body and her life, and now with the children. But Terry is also learning to trust Maggie with his heart. When he suddenly comes to the realization that he is actually in love with her, it is like a bolt from the blue. He’s shocked. He’s scared. But he knows it is true. Most of the remainder of the book is devoted to his plan to communicate his love, his faith, and his trust in her, both in words and in the activities he has planned for them at the Club—and, of course, with a few comical bumps along the way. I absolutely loved this book and was eager for the next. Five stars!
This follow-up to ‘The Dom’s Submission’ is absolutely wonderful. Maggie surprises Terry with a weekend at the club but the surprises for Maggie are even bigger. Highly charged erotically, this is also a tender sweet romance. I have re-read the final two chapters several times it’s that good.
You can read this as a standalone, but I guarantee you will want to read the rest of the stories featuring Terry and Maggie.
I loved this well written book with great characters and a smoothly written storyline. The chemistry between the characters is strong from start to finish making for smooth flowing storyline. I am looking forward to reading more by this author.

LOVE IT! Terry and Maggie are absolutely delightful and sinfully delicious! Terry continues to have his work cut out for him when it comes to Maggie’s insecurities but they make great progress in the newest installment to their story. I haven’t read their earlier stories and never felt like it was required in order to enjoy this novella (I have read other parts of the La Petite Mort Club series, though, and I do recommend those, too). I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This is the 1st book I’ve read written by Ellis O. Day; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.

This book was one fantastic read with the great character and storyline development that kept me turning the pages until the very end!
I realized after I picked this up that it was a continuation of Terry and Maggie’s story. However, it didn’t affect reading this book. It’s short and what it deals with, you can follow along. Of course, now I will be reading the ones prior. This was hot and oh so good!

Back and better than ever
Terry and Maggie are back and better than ever! Maggie has a surprise for Terry on his birthday. Little does she know he intends to use this as a surprise opportunity of his own. Trust plays a bid part of this, their fourth but not final book. Hot as Hades!!

I thought the author did a fantastic job describing not only the physical scene but the emotional inner turmoil that both main characters experienced as they took their relationship to the next level. If you haven’t read this series from the beginning, I highly recommend it. You can read this as a standalone but to get maximum enjoyment from it you do need to know more about the couple’s history. Brilliant book.

After reading this book I had to take a little time to compose myself and get my thoughts clear in my head before I put them in a review.
Wow this book was amazingly written. Once I started I couldn’t put it down till I was finished. This book has twists and turns you don’t know what’s happening. will they all get there happily ever after or will it all go wrong. To find out what happens go buy the book. You won’t be disappointed I wasn’t.

Wow I do not know what to say. This book was just as good as the three books in Dom’s Submission – just as good as all the books in the La Petite Mort Club series. This is a continuation on Terry and Maggie’s Love story. I call it a Love Story because it is. It is hot, sexy, steamy but there is love in the story. I can not wait for the next book, which is the next day adventure in Terry and Maggie’s story. Keep up the good writing Ellis O. Day.
LOVE
This book was great! It was HOT AF, and LOVEly too. I haven’t read the other stories about this couple, but I am now desperate to do so! I need to know more! They’re pretty much perfect for each other, complementing each other beautifully.

His Lesson is the first book of the author I read. It seems that Terry and Maggie’s story is an ongoing story, but I did not have any trouble following the story without the knowledge from the former books. I feel Terry and Maggie had great chemistry and that they are perfect for each other. His Lesson was an interesting story that I enjoyed reading very much.
Maggie reserves a special weekend at the club for Terry’s birthday. She trusts him, but her self esteem issues come to light. Good book, well written!

This is the first book I’ve read by the artist and I really enjoyed it. I loved that our main gal was curvy, a mom and “near middle aged.” I gather that I missed some back story but I didn’t think it affected the story too much.
