I’m house sitting for a male who had me impregnated in a med lab.Bergelmir, my secret crush. That rich, scary devil outbid everyone at the virtual auction and got himself to the top of the list (pissing off a lot of other Hyrrokin) and, gulp, I’m his surrogate. And…now I’m carrying Bergelmir’s baby. But I have my head on straight about this. I’m doing this so my friend can be a father. Because … father. Because that’s all we are—friends.
But I have a shameful secret I’ve told no one: I wish this baby was mine. And I love that fire-breathing Hyrrokin with all of my heart.
If only he felt the same way.
Author’s Note: This story is more enjoyable if read directly after the first book in the series, His Human Nanny.
Warning: This is also a secret baby, epistolary, stalker alien hero, Billionaire, curvy girl romance with epic hero grovel – while remaining both cute & adorable. Hope you enjoy!

Again, Michele Mills did not disappoint. I binged this series and loved every minute of it. Berg and Chloe’s relationship, well, was a little predictable. But I didn’t get bored. I didn’t get meh. What I did get was an adorable story that kept me entertained. Sweet, Fluffy, and Hot. A must read for the alien loving reader and those readers who want sweet, fluffy and hot.
When a lonely New Earth girl meets a lonely devil, you get this cool story. I enjoyed reading this romance, it kind of reminded me of an alien “You’ve Got Mail” but with more angst and plot devices going on. Berg is a planetary hero, and Chloe feels like she’s just a nobody, like he would ever feel for her as she secretly feels for him. I mean, the author clearly stated upfront that this was an epistolary kind of story, with a romance building through letters or written words back and forth, so some of the low reviewers acted like it was news to them. I thought it was cute. I thought Chloe was more than she ever believed herself to be, and Lucy was a vapid and self-centered brat. Berg has to leave Chloe on a secret mission before he can share all of his secrets, and sometimes when you let a lie go on for a minute, sometimes it’s hard to go back and set things right. I think the story worked itself out, but not before Chloe felt like her whole world was a lie….the story grows on you, give it a chance!
Behind closed doors
Such an interesting and new story! The author certainly puts a new spin on long distance relationships with this book, I think I felt the separation more than the characters did. The distance really made the relationship between these two characters so sweet, and I love that Berg only shows his true self to his mate. Well and maybe to his grandma, she really seems to know everything that happens in her family. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to find out what happens next.
This is the second story in the Monsters Love Curvy Girls line. It is a more lighthearted storyline about human women falling for what our culture designated as the devil (red skin, barbed tail, horns). Chloe falls for Berg while writing and talking to him after her best friend marries his brother but doesn’t think he could be interested in her. I do not want to write any spoilers so all I will say is this is a story that may upset you due to Bergs dishonesty but it comes from a loving heart.

Once I read the first book in this series, I could not wait for this one to come out!! It was sooo good! I loved the whole story! It did not follow the path I thought it would take but it was even better than I imagined. I cannot wait for the next book!!!

Ooooh! I’ve been waiting for this one for awhile now. After reading His Human Nanny, I’ve had a hard tune letting the Hyrrokin go, let alone the Touchstones!
Berg was great! He was introduced in book 1 and I was given just enough to be super intrigued. He definitely didn’t disappoint. I loved how so much of the book was written from his POV. He’s such a quite and mysterious character in the book, it was a great way to really get to know him. Chloe and Berg together we’re wonderful and this was a great way to write the friends to lovers trope.
Michelle Mills is definitely staying on my watch/ must real list and I canNOT wait for not just Hannibal’s story but the following (and next) in this series!

It was a witty funny story, started good and kept getting better. I really liked the grandma, she was hilarious to cool. My good, what a fantasy a house like a dragon, who can top that? And I really need a cleaning and repair bod. Oh and I wish I had such dreams. Wished it would be a bit longer and that it did not take so long till they finally been together.
Bergelmir, you are a hot mess!
His Human Surrogate is the second book in the Monsters Love Curvy Girls series, Bergelmir and Chloe’s story, and this monster is a piece of work.
We met these two in His Human Nanny, Berg is the silent brother of Aegir, and Chloe is Riley’s bestie, and the two hit it off over vid chat. Since humans have become illegal on Tarvos, and the only way to come to the planet is on a work visa, two options: being a surrogate is one of them.
Bergelmir has finagled his way to make Chloe his, despite there being a couple who were already expecting her. He has been making many plays behind the scenes. After all, he has plans for Chloe that she isn’t aware of, nor his family, because right now, his plans are burdened by the law. Chloe can’t be his mate, can’t be his bound, humans are illegal.
I could not figure out how I was angry and adored the hero simultaneously, so kudos, Michelle Mills! Bergelmir is, by far, my favorite character of this author. Maybe it was because he was so badly flawed.
Another thing about this book is that Chloe Chang is an Asian character. Michelle Mills writes a good deal of diversity into her books, and this book looks at ‘traditional’ Asian culture in New Earth. Another book of hers she uses an Asian character is the Swirl series books 2 & 3.
I recommend you read the first book in this series, His Human Nanny, before this one. And you should check out The Fever Brothers, which is another excellent series by Michelle Mills.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary advance copy of this book.
His Human Nanny (Monsters Love Curvy Girls Book 1)
Mean Right Hook (The Fever Brothers Book 1)
Big Bad Claws (The Fever Brothers Book 2)
Warriors’ Claim: A Reverse Harem Romance (The Swirl Book 2)
Warriors’ Embrace: A Reverse Harem Romance (The Swirl Book 3)
His Human Surrogate by Michele Mills is book 2 in the Monsters Love Curvy Girls series. If you liked His Human Nanny (Riley and Aegir) you will love Bergelmir and Chloe’s book. How Michele can make “Smoke wafts from my nostrils” sexy is amazing. I can’t get enough of the Hyrrokin men!
I’m a virgin, pregnant with my best friends baby. And can’t tell him, that I wish the baby and him were mine. By the way, he’s tall, red with black horns and a tail. Yeah, I know total Satan look. But he’s the sweetest man I‘ve ever met.
Chloe is human, my best friend and carrying my baby. I have so many secrets I’m keeping from her. I can’t tell her any of them. Especially, that I love her.

I Loved the characters in the book. I especially liked the grandma, she was really fun and she saw more then her family gave her credit for. What i didn’t like was how little time chloe and berg spent together. .

This is the 2nd book of the Monsters love curvy girls series and we see how Bergelmir knew instantly that Chloe is his bound. Chloe is the best friend of Riley Touchstone who was the Nanny for Aegir’s twin babies. So continue from after Chloe’s, Riley and Bergelmir’s first video chat with one another. Sp. the one word response warrior now has full on conversations with Chloe like it is no big deal. He wants to court her properly but found out by his government at alien immigration is now banned. So, now he has to find another way to bring her over. But, what Berg doesn’t know is that Chloe is in financial need to help her younger sisters immediate engagement to her husband to be.
Chloe and Bergelmir’s communications are via email / video chats since they are on different planets still. They start off as friends with mutual interests in restoration of items. But, they both have secret feelings for one another yet are not telling one another. Oh how plans can go array. I was entertained reading this book and I am interesting in reading the next book. I don’t want to spoil anything. If you like honor bound males who will do anything for their females then this is the right book for you.

The writing and editing of this short sci-fi romance was clean in the ARC version of the manuscript, with only a few typos that will hopefully be corrected in the retail version. The world building is minimal, but this is also the second book in a series, so maybe most of the world building took place in the first book? The characterization was deft, with both hero and heroine being sympathetic individuals. Where this book really failed for me was in the development of the romantic relationship. In this novel, the hero and heroine spent at least 80% of this novel separated and only communicating via text message and space-age email. They did not spend enough time in person together to really build a life long loving relationship before they married. That made me not really believe in their HEA at the end, because I did not feel like their relationship had a strong foundation and full intimacy by the end of the novel. The plot and pacing was fairly exciting and quick. There was low angst and high stakes, which I typically enjoy in a romance novel. This novel used the Epistolary Courtship trope. The world building was three stars. The plot and pacing were four stars. The characterization was four stars. The development of the romantic relationship was two stars, because the hero and heroine spent almost the whole novel separated except for the hero’s kind of stalker behavior, which I found a little creepy. I understand why he did it, but it was still a little creepy. Not my favorite. The combined rating for this novel was therefore three stars. This novel ends on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger, so that is a plus. I recommend this story to readers who don’t mind romances where the hero and heroine spend the majority of the novel apart and some stalkerish behavior on the part of the hero is not triggering. I will probably read the next novel in this series and just put this one down as a misstep. I will not buy myself a keeper copy of this novel.

This is a super fun and quirky sci-fi romance! I absolutely loved it! It is sweet and funny, with lovable characters and adventure…

I enjoyed this story. It was fun, quick read. There were a few jumps ahead in the timeline. It didn’t distract from the story, it flowed great, I would have just liked to have read more details about what happened in those gaps. Overall, the story line was great and original, and the characters were just what I thought they’d be after reading book one in this series. Definitely looking forward to the rest of this series!

They spend a lot of the book separate. There is need for some editing. There is a portion that repeats. And misspellings which are distracting. I wasn’t much impressed with this story.
This book was excellent! You should read the first book in order to get the most out of the story but if you really want you could read this alone. One thing I really liked was that the girl is really easy going. That doesn’t mean she let’s her mate get away with everything. But in some stories it feels like they are just making tons of trouble to keep the reader interested. I find her refreshing.
The second in a three book series, this story revolves around Chloe and Bergelmir. This story can stand alone, but I went ahead and re-read the first book of the series, in which we were first introduced to these two characters, and I am glad I did. I felt like it enhanced this book to remind myself of these characters. That said, I really enjoyed the interaction between Chloe and Berg, as well as the exchange between the human and the Hyrrokin and his family. I recommend this book, in addition to the first in the series and anxiously await the third and final installment.

I loved Berg’s HEA! He and Chloe were so perfect together, though no one realized it. A huge part of their interests, restoration, brings them together. He fell for her right away not realizing she did the same. When having a human bound becomes illegal he comes up with a way to get around it (without explaining it to Chloe, which causes a few issues). I loved Chloe’s interactions with his family- she takes to the immediately, and they love her. And the exchanges she and Berg have are so sweet! He’s so different with her, he can be himself. She can also be herself and with him she finally realizes her worth. I cannot wait until the next book!
His Human Surrogate by Michele Mills was exactly what I was looking for, and an awesome second book in the Monsters Love Curvy Girls series!
Bergelmir? HOT! Chloe? ADORABLE! Their interactions? CHARMING! Their chemistry? OFF THE CHARTS! Michele Mills? A GENIUS!
Chloe is used to being alone and taking care of herself, and yet can’t help but have fallen in love with Berg, even as she knew that nothing could ever come of it. Berg, in turn, has been captivated by the little human since he first caught glance of her, and nothing, no government, no law, nothing at all, was going to stop him from claiming her. But first, they’ll need to overcome a whole boatload of obstacles!
His Human Surrogate takes you on one heck of an emotional rollercoaster ride of a journey, gives you laughs, gives you a TON of feels, makes you smile, makes you sigh, makes you swoon, and makes you want your own fire breathing male!
I adored this story, their shared passions, really felt for Chloe as she struggled with everything she was feeling and experiencing, and definitely wanted to give her a hug and give Berg just a little love tap of a slap upside the head to get him to get with it and make things happen that needed to happen.
I adored this story, and loved this world, and know you will too! It can be read as a standalone, and is one, but reading it after His Human Nanny (the first in the series) definitely gives it some extra zhuzh that is worth experiencing!
P. S. How long do I have to wait for Hannibal’s story?! Because I can already tell it’s going to be GOOD!
