I loved this cute mpreg story. I loved the pace and the sweetness of the story. I hadn’t read the previous story, but I was able to enjoy this one anyway. It was fast-paced, a little sexy and a whole lot of cute. I would recommend this story.
Shay is systematically abused by his mated alpha. With constantly a bodyguard around he can’t escape.
After another miscarriage Shay is devastated and thinks he will never have a child of his own.
Devin thinks Shay is lying he is angry and leaves him to let him walk a long way home. Shay stands under a bridge looking down in the deep. He doesn’t have the courage to jump. When Nick drives by he saves him and takes him to his vacation at Jonathan and Lori’s house who just got three babies.
Shay doesn’t trust any alpha, only Nick seems to get thrones wall.
Nick has feelings for Shay and Shay is too scared.
A story about a hurt omega, a considered alpha. Not too heavy, just enough developed and enjoyable.
Around the carefully blooming friendship, there is a versatile story. A busy safe family with a lot of members. There are opportunities to start new jobs, buy new houses, leaving old habits and room to make mistakes. There is justice thank goodness.
I just love me some hurt omega and an alpha who isn’t perfect but in a way he is. I loved all the kind friends and family who gave space and freedom, I loved it there was hope and a future, I loved this smoothly written story! I read it in one sit.
Shay and Nick have seen each other for the first time in His First Family, Lorne and Jonathan’s story. They’re fascinated with one another but there was no chance for something between them because Shay belonged to another alpha,a mean and abusive one. Fate has decided that they belong together, although it won’t easy for Nick to prove to Shay that he’s an alpha worthy to be trusted.
His First Kiss is a reality emotional book. Abuse is difficult to overcome and I loved seeing Shay find the strength to ask for help and slowly open his heart to the possibility of love. Both Nick and Shay are amazing, good and caring, with troubled pasts, and I’m glad they finally found happiness and home with each other.
This book was really sweet. The characters were well developed throughout the story, and the writing style is smoothly done. This is the third book of this series, but it was easily read as a standalone for me.
Nick went through a lot of heartache when he was younger, and with his controlling father and new stepmother, he learned the importance of treating all humans with respect, not just those of the same social class or designation. He is not happy with his job, and has been looking for employment closer to Jonathan’s clinic and Lorne.
Shay grew up in foster care, but when the home and woman he has known and loved are threatened, he does what he believes he must. He finds himself in a very volatile situation with a dangerous alpha. He believes it is something of his doing that has caused his pregnancy issues, but comes to learn that it wasn’t his fault at all.
When things get really bad, Nick finds Shay on his way to visit Jonathan and Lorne for his vacation. When facts are brought to light, Nick offers to help, but maybe a little too much help as far as Shay is concerned. Shay has a lot of physical and mental trauma to work through before he can get to a place where he feels safe and can make decisions without his former alpha’s voice in his head.
Things start to get better, mistakes are made, revenge plays a dangerous role and forces Shay to face his fear and the truth, and life goes on. Of course, our MCs get their HEA and a beautiful new baby in their new family.
Happy reading!
* I received an ARC of this book and I am leaving my honest review. *
Another touching MPreg book from Victoria Sue.
I absolutely love this series. While the books have overlapping characters, each one stands alone quite well. Characters from book 2, His First Family play a big role in His First Kiss but you won’t be lost if you haven’t read book 2 yet. (You will have missed a great story, though.)
His First Kiss isn’t about hot and sexy times, it’s much more about family and love. I’d call this a slow-burn type story. The blurb does a great job of describing the story so give it a look.
Nick met Shay briefly several months ago and he never really forgot the omega who was brought to the hospital with bad injuries, injuries that everyone suspected were caused by his alpha. A kind nurse gave Shay Nick’s number in case he ever needed help as Nick is an attorney.
When fate brings Nick and Shay back together again Nick wants to help protect him from his cruel alpha. As they spend more time together, he begins to realize how much the omega means to him and that he’d do just about anything for him. Shay’s life with his alpha was awful and he’s reluctant to trust any alpha, even Nick.
The things that Victoria Sue does to her boys before they get their HEA! She never causes them pain just for the sake of it so in the end I know that everything is going to work out OK. Shay has to learn to trust again and Nick has to be patient with him. This was a really touching story with just the right amount of angst. Love is the overall theme in the story. It’s also about family – even though that family may not be the one you were born into.
I loved getting to visit with Jonathan and Lorne again, and their Nana is a sweet and surprising character in this story. A side character we met in book 1 makes a very brief appearance in His First Kiss. I’m hoping that the next book will be his.
I really enjoyed reading this emotional MM romance. It is about love, the devastating aftermath of abuse/desertion & the connection of a tentative new relationship between two people. The plot is interesting & well-written, the complex characters continue to develop throughout a well-paced story-line.
There is: a abusive alpha (Devin) beats up & abandons his omega (Shay) & he is found by another alpha (Nick) who is determined to care & look after him, drama, abuse, trauma, insecurities, anguish, memories, compromises, attractions, manipulations, confrontations, threats, unexpected help, love, contentment & a well-deserved happy ending.
