Meet Detective Sergeant Alicia Friend. She’s nice. Too nice to be a police officer, if she’s honest. Now the annoyingly-perky detective finds herself in the grip of a northern British winter, investigating the kidnap-murders of two young women. When a third is taken, Alicia has less than a week to chip away the secrets of a high-society family, and uncover the killer’s objective. But Richard – the … objective.
But Richard – the father of the latest victim – believes the police are not moving quickly enough, so launches a parallel investigation, utilising skills honed in a dark past that is about to catch up with him.
As Richard’s secret actions hinder the police, the clock is ticking until another innocent person dies, and Alicia will be forced into choices that will impact the rest of her life.

Too many characters and just went on and on. Had potential but got bogged down in the middle. Ended ok but it took everything I had to get through this.
Very quirky detective is the cute blonde Alicia…and flawed…along with all the characters in this interesting read.
Unpredictable!
Wonderful. I would love to read more from this series.
Very creepy
One too many serial killers. Alicia not terribly believable as a detective
Good drama with unexpected plot twists.
Liked the lead characters. Was a bit “out there” plot-wise. Good enough I’ll look for other titles by author.
Very unexpected twists and turnes
A good British mystery. Girls, look alikes, are being taken, held and killed. Alicia and Murphy trying to find out who the killer is and why he’s taking them . They come up with some pretty surprising suspects. The end has a twist you just don’t see coming.
I enjoyed the character of Alicia Friend and where the story led
Didn’t want it to end. Loved the adventure and the story as it was revealed. Very good read and fun to be involved with.
One of the best serial killer books I have read. Really liked the characters. Their personalities & interrelationships were well done and believable. A must read!
Great reading.
Good read my first by this author look forward to reading more
Do not like books that use God’s name in vain. Didn’t finish reading
Sort of strange and “out-there”. The characters depicted are rather quirky but
likeable. Interesting twists and turn at every corner.
Great read. Never guessed the culprit until the very end ….. or culpritS.
I thought this was a good book.
Would read another book by this author.
