Meet Detective Sergeant Alicia Friend. She’s nice. Too nice to be a police officer, if she’s honest. Now the annoyingly-perky detective finds herself in the grip of a northern British winter, investigating the kidnap-murders of two young women. When a third is taken, Alicia has less than a week to chip away the secrets of a high-society family, and uncover the killer’s objective. But Richard – the … objective.
But Richard – the father of the latest victim – believes the police are not moving quickly enough, so launches a parallel investigation, utilising skills honed in a dark past that is about to catch up with him.
As Richard’s secret actions hinder the police, the clock is ticking until another innocent person dies, and Alicia will be forced into choices that will impact the rest of her life.

Kept thinking I knew how it ended, I was wrong.
Entertaining serial killer book.
The characters didn’t really grab me. sorta boring.
Wow. Great story. Nice job!
It was OK. Keep me reading.
Pretty good.
Implausible.
Kept me guessing, to the finale.
A few twists show the evil in people can be lurking just under the surface.
Parts were a bit strange to me but it kept my interest.
It had an interesting plot with a very believable and sympathetic main character.
very intriging
very interesting murder story.
I loved His First, His Second because the characters were great, and it was unpredictable. There were several good twists and turns that were unexpected. I didn’t have to tell myself to keep reading this book. I read until I was almost asleep at night, and I still didn’t want to put it down. I’m on to the next book in this series.
It’s a good read and the characters are well defined. I recommend it.
not my type of story. too physco for me
Your writing is so intricate and well thought out. I didn’t suspect a thing until the end. Go, do more, Please.
Quit after half! Bad – difficult to keep track of story.
