Olivia Smith is an anthropologist, immersed in the study of alien cultures. As the Sri’thaen threat ramps up on the edges of human space, Olivia decides it’s an ideal time to accept a position in a distant solar system. At first, her new job seems perfect, but when the orbital station she’s working from malfunctions, she’ll find herself forced to land on the planet below. She needs to limit her … her interactions with the aliens to avoid influencing their natural development, but there’s one man in particular who’s hard to resist…
Vlek’s people have lived for generations in the rain forest. One day, he comes across a strange group of…people…like nothing he’s ever seen before. Fully grown and yet unfamiliar with the woods, it’s clear they don’t belong. Vlek sets out to learn more about these strange creatures and their captivating female leader. Where did they come from? What are they doing here? And most importantly, can he convince Olivia to stay?
Happily ever after guaranteed! Can be read as part of the series or as a standalone romance.

Disappointing waste of my frakking time
Unimpressed with this group of so-called scientists and explorers. Very little actual knowledge, willingness to learn, self-sufficiency, protocol, rationale…
To say they’ve been studying the aliens’ planet for awhile, they know almost nothing about the inhabitants. I guess the mission was too new and they hadn’t gathered enough info before crashing. The gender divisions were just disappointing– “men fight, you tiny useless women do this silly science thing.” Then when the mess hits the fan, the expert fighting men shoot first and are taken out at the first confrontation. Everybody has the titles but no competence.
When their tech expert has to work on their inadequate translators, and nobody is making much effort to learn foreign words or pantomime needs… I realized part of the problem: the humans relied on technology so extremely that they’d lost basic skills of communication, observation, defense, hunting, and survival. Which, okay, I might be useless if dropped into a tropical forest, too. But in a group of 10 random people, I would expect each person to have some skill to contribute to improve the situation. They had… a cream that nobody knew the ingredients or dosage of. Oh, somebody has a wound?–let’s just dab on a bit of this cream and hope it does a thing!
UNBELIEVABLE!? Simply out of curiosity, I can list ingredients in things that I use or have around me. And it’s important to differentiate because some things react badly when combined. Ugh. Are they grown ass women with deep thought and complex histories and interests or NOT?! Can we get somebody to step up with Girl Scout experience? Aikido skills? Nurse training? Botanist who knows the kind of stuff that goes into medicines?
Just so little depth is shown here. Sure, there are some token alternative options mentioned sometimes, but they’re shoot down quickly in favor of the stupidest, cheapest action for, like, the drama of it or whatever. For example: the alien leader takes a large group of strangers straight into his home village… Ugh! They might have hidden weapons, disease, a distraction for something more dangerous… no thought here besides, “this one smells good. Let me keep her. No, my trusted hunters with legitimate concerns, we’re doing it because I SAID SO.”
Thoughtless, rushed, shallow characters and disappointing story.

Olivia had taken the most further station away from earth to study the inhabitants from a space station as possible with the threats that were going on. She was the lead scientist now of a group of just women with a few men as protection when they ran into trouble and had to abandon ship. Vlek was the leader of his clan. He was out on a hunting journey with some of his men when he saw some of the bright srones fall from the sky. Then he came across an exotic female that he had to save and had an unexpected urge to make her his mate. Olivia and Vlek has an interesting and exciting time trying to understand each other as he tried to convince her to be his mate without their communication working and trying to learn how to live on a new planet with aliens. This was a fun read. With strong females in the lead

This is a cool sci-fi romance with lots of heat… I liked it… It has adventure and suspense, danger and destiny…
