I binged this whole three book series and loved them all. The first book was light and sweet, this one is a bit grittier. I loved Greg and Alaric both as a couple and as individual characters. I enjoyed watching Greg basically decide to grow up and be an adult and Alaric try to pick a consort both for love and to help his kingdom. Both men have to make serious choices and decision. The world building was great and the author did a wonderful job of showing us human Greg in the fantasy realm and Alaric in the human realm and how confusing things were for them.
Greg is trying to turn his life around because his old life is making him miserable. He can’t keep a relationship going for long because he ends up flirting with new handsome faces and ends up cheating with them. Greg is taking a break from dating so he can improve his school work and possibly figure out why he keeps messing up. It is almost Halloween and Greg and his friends go to try out an escape room. His friends are being unkind to him and mocking him and Greg wishes he was home unitl he meets Alaric. Alaric is happily flirting with him and Greg is tempted to break the promise to himself of no more men. Greg is special with a belief in magic so when he finds himself in the basement of Halloween Escapes, he accidentally goes through a portal to Faerie. At first his adventures are terrifying but when he is rescued by Alaric, this are quickly becoming interesting and fun.
Prince Alaric’s job right now is to run Halloween Escapes and keep informed on the human world. Hde knows that in a few years, he will be called back to bond with the land like his mother did so he can be king. Alaric wqants to find a mate before that happens who will help him guide his land out of the encrouching darkness. He is hoping for a human mate so when he meets Greg, he is very attracted. Then he finds out Greg has gone through the portal and he runs to the rescue. When he tries to take Greg back to the human world, he realizes that his magic is acting funny. Every leader must go through a trial before bonding with the land and it seems the lands has decided it is time to test Alaric. Somehow he will have to protect Greg and pass the test with limited magic.
This is a great story which shows Greg in a much better light. I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my honest review.
A great book with alot of magic, fairy’s and other creatures.
It was a great story, wonderful characters and it was easy to read.
So far, I am really enjoying this series of fairy stories. In this tale, college senior Greg has sworn off one night stands, but when he meets the cute guy at the Halloween room will he change his mind? Alaric is a prince of fairy working the Halloween escape room, and he definitely notices Greg. They share a kiss, but Alaric is on the clock, so Greg wanders and ends up stepping through a doorway into Alaric’s world . Alaric soon follows, but the realm disables his magic to test him, leaving him and Greg to travel on foot to his castle. in order to return Greg home. There is adventure, some drama, and an interfering ex. Both men are tested along the way, and in the end must decide who and what they want. I actually enjoyed this story a bit more than the first one in the series, although both are good and completely stand-alone reads. I highly recommend this fun fantasy read, and I look forward to the next one.

I just need to say that I love the new covers on Amazon!
This author is new to me! This is the second book in this series. I enjoyed reading Greg’s story. This one had a little bit more to it than the previous story. I found this book to be engaging, and intriguing. I read an advanced copy of this book and I do recommend it!
Greg wants to go and have some fun on Halloween exploring a spooky puzzle but his friend wants something more exciting. Alaric, the owner, finds Greg delicious and wants to spend some time with him. They share a kiss but Alaric must go back to work. Besides, Greg has sworn off one-night stands. While waiting For Alaric to return, he explores and finds a magic door. Greg walks through and finds himself in a new world. Alaric is prince of this world and, when Alaric joins him, the two find themselves stranded and forced to navigate many things, including Alaric’s ex, the Lord of Spiders. If they are successful, they will each find a place to belong.
Both of these men had issues. Alaric was not sure he ever wanted to rule, while Greg just wanted someone or someplace to want him. Their travels in fairy land test them both, in different ways. The tests continue until the last possible moment. In fact, some tests, take them to their lowest. The ending is fantastic. I really enjoyed Greg’s and Alaric’s journey. I think you will as well.
I’m enjoying this series, loveable characters, challenging times. humour, a dream come true and sexy, really liked Greg and Alaric. Heartwarming.
I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book for my honest opinions of which I’m under no obligation to do so. I definitely recommend this book.
I enjoyed this book more than the first one. Greg is trying to be a better person. He isn’t very proud of the way he seems to hop from bed to bed and is trying to turn over a new leaf. He is fairly miserable with his life and isn’t sure what he wants to do anymore. That is until he runs into the guy at the Halloween themed escape room and that hidden special door in the back. Alaric is the prince of the Fall faery kingdom who is supposed to find a consort and pass his test to rule his kingdom. He just didn’t expect his kingdom to decide the time for his test was at the same time he was trying to rescue Greg from his side of the door. I loved this take on the faery lands and the mortal trying to find his way through and back to his home. I wouldn’t have minded a little more on the fate of the kingdom itself and how Alaric and Greg improved things (and got rid of Ned’s “experiment”) bit it was a fun story as a whole.

His Fairy Prince (Tit for Tat #2) by J.S. Harker
235 Pages
POV: 3rd person, dual POV
Themes: Holiday, Halloween, Contemporary, Magic, Fantasy: Fae
I liked this. I didn’t love it as much as Book 1, but it was super cute and the second half was really strong. The best part of the book, honestly. The romance was sweet, adorable, and Greg was a gooey mess of insecurities and past hurt. The way Alaric could be teasing, strong and flirty was a great balance to Greg’s indecisive nature.
As with Book 1, there was low angst, not much conflict, and the bad guy – Ned – wasn’t as bad as he could have been. Considering that was Greg’s place in Book 1, I’m wondering whether this might be a way to set up for Book 3. A potential story between Cooper and Ned, maybe? It would be interest, since both were given the most page-time than any other character.
While Book 1 showed up a Fae in the human world, Book 2 flipped that to show a human in the Fae world. It was so interesting to see the various characters and creatures involved in the Fae world, and how Greg dealt with it. I liked the connection with the Earth, the places they explored and how Greg used his D&D knowledge to navigate this foreign world.
The Shattered Forest broke my heart!
However, there were some flaws that meant I wavered between a 3-4 rating. But, because I liked it, and I’ll read it again, I gave it a 4. For me, there were some issues. To start with, I was actually disappointed with the ending. It felt so abrupt, when there was so much left unanswered and unresolved. Then the Epilogue that fast-forwarded through time quite a bit more than I expected. I also felt like the story flagged somewhere in the middle. It was far stronger in the second half.
Coming to this one straight off the back of Book 1, I was a little disappointed to find that it showed no connection to Book 1 whatsoever. Although we first met Gregory “Greg” in Book 1, there is NO mention of Flynn and Derek, or of there being a previous book. While it means this one can be read as a standalone, I do have to think the author missed a huge opportunity to use that previous book as a way to make Greg more accepting of the whole Fae thing. Especially since, in Book 1, he wasn’t the geeky, dreamer that he was in this book. For me, the disparity between Gregory from Book 1 and Greg in Book 2 made them feel like two entirely different people.
But, I did enjoy it. It came together as a whole story, a cohesive plot, with great characters who had great chemistry. There were some niggles, but I overall enjoyed it and will leave it.
