Working with my enemy proves harder than I expected. But when Dagger opens his heart and reveals a secret he always meant to keep from me, my hatred of him turns to a much more dangerous emotion. Desire.

Really enjoyed Tavia and Dagger’s story, and characters. Getting attached with all the characters. Well written. Happy to learn more about Dagger’s past. Explains a lot. Can’t wait for the next one.
Loving this Paranormal Series – Even More!!
Alphas, Betas and Omegas are no longer “one pack”. Omegas had to scrape an existence outside the city walls – until the King recently married an Omega and declared them one pack again. Easier said than done. Omegas have been stolen and turned into weapons and do not trust the new order. The journey to rescue them must include some Omegas; including the new Queen’s sister Tavia.
Dagger, leader of the mission, knows his mate is an Omega, but is trying to avoid the connection. This mission makes that impossible. Danger, intrigue, mates and romance all combine into a compelling story.
*** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book ***
This is the second book in this wonderful series and we met Tavia and Dagger in the first book this is their story
Dagger has a checkered past and consequently he feels he isn’t entitled to Tavia love even though he knows she is his mate but when she comes into heat that drives all of his thoughts out of his head he has to keep her near him and keep all others from her he goes into super protection mode. Tavia also has her own problems in life things are definitely changing and her brother the king has tasked her with helping the badlands but when he confesses his past to her she doesn’t walk away she stands there right beside him. Can a wolf shifter with a past have a queens sister You will have to read to see
Easy to follow along, I do recommend reading the first book of the series to grasp everything that is going on, otherwise readers may be confused.
It is a short read, still has enough details so that the reader understands and can picture everything that is going on.
I wasn’t into these 2 characters as much as I was with the first- but they were captivating enough to have me keep reading.
This Series Lures You in Like A Month to A Flame…
At first try you almost shrug, unimpressed. As the first hit of P. Jameson and Kristen Strassel’s The Royal Omegas series “His Forbidden Omega” is stunted and a bit disappointing. However, there’s enough bite to the plot to spark intrigue within, leave you wanting but not hooked enough to be all in. Nonetheless there is enough punch in the first taste that now you’re curious. Curious enough to make you come back again for a second dose.
But this second time around you’re offered something stronger, more pure and unadulterated than before. This time with, “His Defiant Omega”, the authors sink you far deeper into their dystopian wolf pack universe. And before you know it your swirling, heartstrings deep, into all that is Luxoria. Strung out on Dagger and Tavia like a kid on birthday cake…
And now, as I lick the remains of this second dose from my lips, I understand some of the writing choices of the first. I still don’t care for them all, but, they make far more sense. Because this one, this second installment of five, is far improved in pacing, steeped far deeper in emotion and need, and laced far tighter with angst, doubt, mistrust, and uncompromising resistance.
This one, this story of Dagger and Tavia. Dagger being a high ranking alpha general in King Adalai’s army. A general fighting to retain his place among the elite, but also hiding secrets that could unravel his world and all those around him, plunging them all deeper into chaos. And Tavia, an omega and older sister to Queen Zelene. A strong, courageous omega in her own right. An omega who has spent her entire life on the front lines of war, fighting tirelessly to improve the lives of all her omega counterparts. An omega that hates Dagger for his role in their collective misery.
It is a feverish march toward a plethora of unknowns. A march toward war with the humans. A march toward the truth about the mutant wolves. A march toward an uncertain, potentially perilous outcome for Luxoria itself. With Dagger and Tavia in the center of it all.
It is a relentless push forward past the story of the first book. An expansion of the larger plot unfolding piece by torturously slow piece. One that gives tiny, yet critical bits of information that clarify the foundation set out by book one, while also being a beautiful journey of discovery, redemption, and forgiveness for Dagger and Tavia.
And while this book still felt rushed and unnecessarily stunted in parts. It was not nearly as so as the first. And gave far more suspense riddled, love tortured fodder that kept you glued to each page. A big improvement over the first, so where I was initially skeptical, I now can’t wait to move onto the next installment!
