Tiffany Roberts always delivers. I have yet to read a book of theirs that I didn’t love from beginning to end! This is a darker, fairytale fantasy set in modern times, so it’s a bit of a change from their alien romances, but if you love their clean writing style and their relatable characters, you will love this book too.
I freaking loved this book it’s one of those books that once you start you can’t put down, so much fun the “Lady of the Forest” is a true survivor and her part was written with heart and love, the Lord well he is just dammmmnnnn yummy, a must read for Tiffany Roberts lovers.
I have a certain fondness for monstrous, horror-type romances. While I wouldn’t call this book scary (except for the abusive, stalker husband), it does have a dark creature, a secluded cabin in the woods, and romance.
Cheating has always been a hard No for me, but in this instance, I don’t consider it cheating at all. Sophie’s husband beat her, terrorized her, and isolated her from those who could have helped. He was a predator and likely would have killed Sophie if she’d remained. When Sophie finally stopped fighting her attraction to Cruce, I was cheering her on. If anyone deserved a chance at happiness, it was her.
I loved how Cruce evolved from a self-absorbed creature, taking what he wanted and needed, to falling for Sophie. He would give her anything. His protection. His life. When she asked him to leave, he did. Not because he wanted to, but because it met Sophie’s needs – and he’d finally found something more important than himself and his woods.
My only complaint is the book ended all too soon. Loved it!
Shadow of a Forest Lord meets a shadow of a broken woman
I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this based on the synopsis. It was my first book by this author, and it won’t be my last. I loved how there was an instant attraction, but not instant action, especially since the heroine was a bit damaged. While everything leading up to the climax wasn’t something that I could predict, being my first book like this, the climax and conclusion were predictable but that did not disappoint me in the least. Great way to spend a few hours!
Love is the oldest magic of all
When battered wife Josephine escapes her brutal husband, she takes refuge in an old cabin in the remote woods. And the fairy tale begins when Cruce, the Lord of the Forest, finds her there. But he is not a man, nor is he what he was meant to be. He too has been victimized by a lover – a fae queen who cursed him to be a shadow forever. Dark, mysterious, seductive, and shrouded in menace, this is a love story only Tiffany Roberts could write. Fans of paranormal romance are privileged to read this obsidian gem of a fairy tale romance.
How can you go wrong with a romance about a shadowy forest god?
There is love, and there is epic love. His Darkest Craving is a story of epic love. This is a standalone fantasy romance that takes its time building a believable and deeply touching love story between two unlikely characters. The sensitive and empathetic way in which the authors have portrayed the trauma that intimate partner violence can cause, and the very real and uphill struggle to overcome it is commendable. They set a good pace for the protagonists to get to know each other and love each other, built up to a very rewarding conclusion, by which point the reader is rooting for the lovers against all odds. The world-building is fascinating and all-round very satisfying, and the writing style is easy-flowing. Great read!
Another one a adore from Tiffany Roberts! Sexy, mysterious, and heart-warming. I also have a thing for forest spirits so this was right up my alley.
*WARNING* contains explicit sexual content
This story comes with domestic abuse trigger warnings, the lady of the story just talks about her past abuse. Cruce is an imaginative char with some interesting things going on.
I love these authors! This book was so good, it just simply ended to soon! I would have loved a second book to this story.
I can’t overstate how much I love the duo that is Tiffany Roberts! All of their books have relatable characters and genuine emotion and His Darkest Craving is no different. The tension and atmosphere are great, and the romantic payoff is so satisfying. I strongly recommend, and I’ll be diving in for a re-read this weekend!
Standalone book by the ultimate writer duo.
Fleeing an abusive and damaging relationship, Sophie hides herself away in the woods… it’s her chance for a fresh start… it’s isolated and peaceful and a place for her to heal. Despite being alone, Sophie doesn’t feel alone… for there is a presence.. and entity in the woods.. and he is watching her.
A darker more eroticically themed book, filled with all the originality and feels that this duo bring to all their books. Packed full of suspense and atmospheric world building. This book is a must read for all those monster/fairytale romance fans out there.
This story was so bloody fantastic and a super quick read…mainly because I didn’t put it down.. I just wanted more! I wanted more of Cruce’s story. The ending left me wanting for a hint of what happens after?
A most unusual sanctuary – very exciting!
If you’re looking for a very unusual and spooky night-time treat, this is the book to read. Our heroine manages to break free from her 5-year ‘situation,’ but soon finds herself in the position to trust (or not) another male. Some of what happens here required quite a stretch of the imagination for me. An eventful and unique romance!
I don’t usually read dark books, but His Darkest Craving was a pleasant surprise. Cruce is dark and sensual. Sophie is broken, but resilient. Will she let him in? Cruce says she is his. Will she put aside her fear long enough to feel? You’ll definitely want to find out! “One-click” this intriguing novella by Tiffany Roberts. Halloween was a great time to release this haunting tale! 4 stars!
