It all starts with him buying her a coffee
His Curvy Boss is the second book in the Biker Brothers of Winter Town series by Sadie King. It is the story of Joe and Madison. Joe has lived all his life in Winter Town and since he was sixteen years old he has worked for Ballyholme Furnishings. First he worked in the shop then moved to designing and finally to the sales department. He applied for the next step up being the Regional Sales Director but unfortunately he did not get it. Instead the company brought in an outside person, Madison. They first encounter each other in the businesses parking lot on Madison’s first day when Joe roars up on his bike and a startled Madison drops her thermos. After parking his bike Joe walks over to ensure she is okay and the proceeds to take her up the street to buy her a coffee. He is instantly attracted to her and is thinking of ways to find out who she is. It does not take him long to be introduced to his new boss after getting the “sorry job is not yours” news. A few weeks or so later they have to take a road trip to visit some of their biggest customers so Madison can introduce herself and she is a big hit with everyone. During the trip Madison and Joe talk about all sorts of things, including his passion for designing furniture but it not being commercial enough for Ballyholme to produce and sell. Madison suggests he may want to start his own business to which he has a bad reaction and is a dick towards her. But he apologizes the next morning and things are good for the rest of the trip. The only problem is that he has started fantasizing about her wearing a silky negligee in her hotel room.
When they get back things are good but Madison is not wanting to join in with other staff for drinks on Friday night, when Joe invites her. But he does see her on Saturday when he and his two brothers, and Olivia, return from a bike ride and Madison is sitting outside of the local cafe. He gets her to take a ride with him on his bike and they have a wonderful ride with him showing her his favorite spot with a view. Soon they are meeting daily after work at the same cafe to recap work but really it is to talk and laugh together. But not all is going to go smoothly as the CEO is a leach and when Madison does finally meet everyone for a drink at the bar on Friday night he is all over her, including cornering her near the bathrooms and then threatening to tell her secret. But Joe steps in and pulls the putz off her while taking him down with one punch to the face. Let’s just say that Joe ends up getting the opportunity to start his own bespoke furniture company sooner than anyone thought possible. But he also gets the Madison and the life he has been envisioning ever since her first saw her in that parking lot the first day.
This is a very sweet and lovely story with romance, drama, some good old fashioned protective Alpha behavior and some hot and steamy chemistry that explodes between Joe and Madison. I loved the fact that she is a few years older than him and he is really okay with it, along with being good with what she is ready for in her life. He is protective of Madison without being controlling which was also really nice. Plus the epilogue was really nice and heartwarming. I look forward to reading the next in the Brothers of Winter Town series.
Joe’s a little ticked off – he’s been passed by for a promotion he thought he deserves, and someone from outside the company has been hired. Madison needs a new job, a new town, and an escape from her old life. They have an immediate attraction, but he’s trying to not like her because she took his job. And she’s trying to not like him because, well, she’s his boss now. But when he rescues her, there will be no denying what they both feel. This is the next installment in the Biker Brothers series, and it’s a fun and sexy story, and an enjoyable quick read.
