A Must for Christmas: A Darling Cove Novella
By: Deborah Garland
5 out of 5 stars
The novella A Must for Christmas by Deborah Garland is a holiday romance book. It is a wonderful story and I couldn’t put it down until I had finished the last page. You reunite with Faith and Greg Mallory of the Darling Cove series. It is the Christmas season and they are about to become parents. A few dark clouds have appeared. Stress causes early labor and complications. Greg is right there with Faith, however, fear and worry can be overwhelming when waiting for word from the doctors. What does this Christmas season hold for Greg and Faith? Read this book to find out. I enjoyed reading about Faith and Greg once again. I also enjoyed reading about the additional characters that are from the series and are friends/family to this couple. This story has heartwarming/touching scenes and others when you wonder what is going to happen next. The book is written in such as way that you can feel the characters emotions and mine went up and down with them all the way through. This is a perfect story to add to the Darling Cove series and one that you will not want to miss out on. Highly recommended reading. I personally would read this novella after all of the other books in the series. It helps to do this in order to understand some of the situations that are described and who all the players/characters are.
A Must For Christmas: A Darling Cove Novella by Deborah Garland is yet another wonderful addition to the stories of the Mallory’s. Deborah has written another beautiful but heart wrenching novella with A Must For Christmas. I am in love with the characters from this series and feel personally invested in each and every one of them. So if they hurt, I hurt. If they are sad I am sad and let me tell you there were plenty of times I had a good sob. However, there were also some moments that were pure joy.
Faith and Greg have been through so much to get where they are today, but could all be lost in the blink of an eye? Fear like they have never known is now front and center, with no time for second guessing. Now because of two little men their lives are forever changed.
Deborah’s stories are so vivid and rich and I am always happy to read her work. It is effortless and written with love. Her stories should not be missed.
A Must For Christmas is a Darling Cove Novella by Deborah Garland. It follows on exactly where Must Be Crazy left off. Although this novella could be read as a standalone, you will have much more enjoyment if you have read the 3 previous books. This is a fantastic series and I would encourage anyone considering it to jump in and enjoy.
Must be Crazy left us on Skye and Edward’s wedding night with Faith going into premature labour with her and Greg’s twin boys. This novella was action packed from the very first page with Faith going into labour and kept me on the edge of my seat right to the very end in the hope that all would turn out ok.
This novella brings back all members of the Mallory family who had gained our hearts in the first 3 books as they come together to celebrate Skye and Edward’s wedding then spend Christmas together, only to be thrown into turmoil when Faith has complications and goes into premature labour, leaving her life in the balance.
This novella will take you through a roller coaster of emotions as Deborah Garland is an amazing storywriter, giving us amazing characters to fall in love with. I’m praying that this novella is not the end of the Darling Cove Series.
A Must For Christmas-A Darling Cove Novella written by Deborah Garland. This is Faith and Greg’s novella with the ending you have wanted since you read Must Have Faith which is book two in the Darling Cove Series and it follows up perfectly with Must Be Crazy book three in the series. This novella has its ups and downs and hits a few emotions just like all the other Darling Cove books. A Must For Christmas is full of all the characters you have read about and love. What will happen to Faith and Greg when secrets come to light and they make the big step to Parenthood.

A Must For Christmas is a different kind of edge of your seat, suspenseful story that hooked me from the very beginning. I loved being reunited with all of my favorite characters from the Darling Cove series and the element of family that these characters embody.
Faith and Gregory took me on a rollercoaster ride of emotion in this novella, through health and marital complications and really just life’s obstacles in general. Throughout the novella I found myself thinking that everything HAD to be okay, Deborah Garland wouldn’t break my heart completely. I didn’t stop reading until I found out either way, good thing this was a short read!
I don’t want to divulge too much about A Must For Christmas because it’s too great a story to spoil for you. I recommend giving this (and any Darling Cove novel) a read!
What a heart warming novella! Deborah Garland continues to draw me in to this series and its characters. This emotional short story had me emotional from start to finish. I loved it and look forward to reading it again and finish. A perfect addition to my holiday.
A Must For Christmas: A Darling Cove Novella by Deborah Garland is an absolute must read if you have been following this series.
There is a huge baby boom in Darling Cove and the Mallory’s are completely responsible for it. Gwen and and Andrew have already had their daughter. Greg and Faith are expecting their twin boys and Skye and Edward have Julian. What happy time for the family oh and its Christmas.
I remember the fear I felt before having my first child and don’t know if I could have dealt with that fear knowing there were two little ones coming very soon. Trying to make the best decisions for them as a mother and for myself as an individual would have been overwhelming but I would have made sure to discuss it with my husband which is not something Faith did with Greg and it drove me nuts.
But other than that I loved this book, it was so sweet and I could feel my arms itching to hold a little one.
I really hope we have not seen the last of the Mallorys.
The Darling Cove Series is set in a town called Darling Cove, the North Fork of Long Island and features a cast of characters who are family by choice and by blood. I would recommend reading the other stories in this series to get to know the personalities featured in this novella.
I was super excited when I saw this story was about Greg and Faith. I was curious as to what they were up to for Christmas. This story is quick, emotional and layered. It was deeper than the traditional Christmas novella and I enjoyed it.
I would recommend this story, this series, and this author.
A Must for Christmas: A Darling Cove Novella (Darling Cove) by Deborah Garland was a heart pounding, sweet, feels gripping read that had me on the edge of my seat, mostly because I was sitting there like.. don’t you dare, don’t you even dare do ti!
A grand addition to the Darling Cove series, this book takes place, or a better description, picks up were the last book, Must be Crazy, leaves off. So this book is a companion, so I highly suggest reading that book first, well all of the books actually, because they follow a chronological timeline. So spoilers.
This books main focus is on Faith and Greg, and them welcoming their little bundles of joy into the world. This doesn’t go smooth, and we are left in a limbo like stat, and for me, a little panic, because what author doesn’t like to mess with their characters and readers hearts? So much raw emotions, chaos, and reality. I had to put this down because I was starting to think the worst, and by the universe I didn’t want to read that. But I pulled my big girl pants up and read on.
This book is more than a addition, it’s a look into a very real situation, and one that happens more often then you want to believe. You can plan, plan, plan, but something the universe has other ideas.
This book is a must read for this series, so please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval that you will get kicked in the feels and still when it all said and done, you will want more with this amazing group of characters and their crazy antics, witty dialogue, and of course from their unique world.
Happy Reading
-E.A. Walsh
The great character and storyline development made this book a very enjoyable read! I was so engrossed in this story that I finished this book in one sitting!
I had not read an earlier part of this series, but that does not detract from this story. A sweet Christmas story that starts with a labor that is not going well and Faith falls into a coma 2 days before Christmas. The excitement of waiting for Faith to come back, when she comes back, brings him back to all the memories he has with her. An emotionally engaged book with a happy ending. Recommended
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This a wellwritten and fastpaced story that captivated me from the start. The storyline is entertaining and actionpacked. The characters are wonderful. Can not wait for the next book in this series.

Beautiful heartwarming story. Days before Christmas Faith has to have emergency surgery to deliver her twin boys. She lost a lot of blood and hasn’t woken up. Her husband Greg is beside himself. They grew up together, loved each other forever, but for a time they were apart before they finally got together and married. Now, married for only a year, will they have a future together or will Greg be raising his babies on his own? The love in this story was unbelievable. Greg for Faith, Faith for Greg, for the twins, and all of the their friends and relatives who supported Greg while Faith was in the hospital.
ONE SEASONAL ADVENTURE!!!
Crap on toast! Deborah produces one mesmerizing, engaging, sensational, heart pounding, pulse racing, page flipping, block busting delight blasting this baby to life beautifully. Grab you some tissue cause there’s no way around it. You’re gonna cry. Amazing scenario’s that punch dead center with such intensity and glittering precision, propels this little guy into a tailspin with stunning impacts, blowing this baby wide open. Speculations, hope, strength, revelations and determination press forward, thrusting this little guy to a whole new level. Jumping hoops, hurdling the trials and tribulations that tests our characters in ways they never saw coming. The characters and their on point personalities are authentic and realistic with depth and qualities make it easy to relate. The scenes are so colorfully descriptive it balances out each scenario as they play off one another perfectly. Remarkable job Deborah, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
A Must for Christmas # – This is my first read by this author and I found it difficult to read since the author did a good job of not rehashing the past. I like this style of writing even though I had no foundation of the series.
Ignoring my confusion, I let the story unfold. While this is an interesting, quick read on its own, I recommend reading the other books. The foundation built by them would make this story a much better read. I did get bored with the heavy emphasis on feminism and cavemen.
The clean label is incorrect, there is vulgar language. I found this book on Booksprout. 4*
A Must for Christmas is a wonderful addition to the Darling Cove series, it’s pages hold a story that is guaranteed to give you the feels, and give your heart a good squeeze. I loved reuniting with these endearing characters and traveling along with them on their emotional little literary journey, it kept me captivated from start to finish! Highly recommend you meet these characters, their touching stories are sure to warm your heart!
A Must for Christmas: A Darling Cove Novella, by Deborah Garland, is a great holiday romance. The author introduced Faith and Greg in the start of the series. This latest book gives the reader a further view into their story with a holiday twist. This story provided everything that I enjoyed from other books in the series and gives me more. More intrigue, a little bit of drama, and a true feeling of family. A quick read loaded full, it didn’t feel rush or lacking in any way. The author brought us back to Faith and Greg, knowing not everything is always easy flowing, but sometimes obstacles come along and you have to work to maintain your happiness. Beautifully written.
A must for Christmas : A Darling Cove Novella by Deborah Garland this novella picks up the story and follows Greg and Faith bringing there babies into the world.
I was looking forward to reading this book as Greg and Faith are my favourite characters in this series but oh my this book is full of ups and down which will have your emotions running wild even at times me shouting out at my e-reader that you can not do this to us Ms Garland.
I would say you need to read this wonderful series and this book follows on from the last book so you get to know these great characters. This book is like the others well written and full of twists and turns even when at points you can believe the direction may be going in. I can not wait to read the next instalment in Darling Cove.
A Must for Christmas is a sweet holiday novella in Deborah Garlands’ Darling Cove series. I loved meeting Greg and Faith again (we met them in Must Have Faith) and it was also great to get an update on the other Mallory siblings as well!
Greg and Faith are at the final stages of expecting their twins to arrive and both of them are struggling with how they see themselves once the kids arrive – Greg would love Faith to be a stay-at-home-mom and Faith cannot really imagine doing it … having kids is a very emotional time for anyone and having the first kids after having been separated for such a long time … it is even more!
It is a perfect holiday addition to the Darling Cove series and just a friendly reminder, the series should be read in the order the writer meant it!
