Quincy Ryan was just handed custody of a son he didn’t know existed. He knows how to be an architect, not a dad, so he looks to his own father for guidance, but that means moving with Pops to Marietta, Montana. Quincy knows he has to get over his shock and give Atlas the Christmas he deserves, but how? He needs a miracle.Nicki Darren, failed actress, will take any job as Christmas approaches, … approaches, even babysitting for a withdrawn, workaholic, single father. She lost her mom as a child, too, and hasn’t had a real Christmas since, so she identifies with four-year-old Atlas.
An advent calendar of activities soon has Nicki pulling Quincy out of the house to get a tree and ice skate with his son. She wants Quincy to open his heart to Atlas, but begins to fall for the Ryan men herself. It makes the countdown to her last day, Christmas Eve, bittersweet. If only the miracle he is looking for included her…

This was a sweet holiday story that takes place in Marietta Montana. Quincy just found out he is the father of a four year old and Nicole needs a job. The nanny/daddy trope has been around since Jane Eyre, but perfected with the sound of music. This book is more the latter than the former, as nicole helps Quincy Move from father to dad using an advent calendar. Nice to see the other Marietta folks here and there in the story line. A quick happy read.
Fun, surprising, and original read. great for the beach, in front of the fire, or at Christmas. Interesting family dynamics.
Quincy knows how to do his job but he has no idea how to be a parent when he is given custody of a child that he never knew existed after the death of the child’s mother. Quincy hires Nicki to be a nanny for the child. Nicki had wanted to be an actress but failed and went to learn how to provide nursing care. Nicki not only helps out the little boy, but Quincy’s gather as well and they come to love him. But will Quincy ever love Nicki as the rest have??
An easy read with a HEA. Quincy found out that he had a 4 year old son that he didn’t even know existed when the mother was killed and her adopted parents did not want to raise another child. Enter Nikki who is hired as a caregiver/nanny and manages to bring the spirit of Christmas to this dysfunctional family.
Simply charm.
This was an easy read and rather inspirational, though a bit unbelievable. Two things bothered me about this book. 1 – the sex scenes, which I skipped over. Why do I need a play by play description? I know what happens…
2 – the occasional big word thrown in for whatever reason. I am fairly intelligent, but these big words were totally unnecessary and did not improve the story at all.
I was in the mood for an easy romance so I snapped this one up and dove in. It’s an interesting premise and an easy read! Atlas was hands down my favorite character. Nicki and Quincy were good but not really anything special. They didn’t particularly stand out to me; they weren’t especially memorable. It was a perfect accompaniment to my vacation!
I did take some issue with the steamier aspects of the writing. There were moments when the writing was good and I was totally in the story. And then there would be a line or a turn of phrase that was awkward or clunky and it often made me stop and grimace or shake my head. It was like being stuck in traffic: cruising along and then you have to brake. You start moving again for a little bit and then you have to brake again. I didn’t care for that much and was glad it was so limited.
I might recommend this to others but only if their reading list for this genre is as deep as mine.
Sweet story
Once I started reading, I had a hard time putting it down and couldn’t wait to pick it up again. Wished it would continue…………………
Great book
I really enjoyed this book. Will read more from this author
It is a quick predictable read. I love Christmas stories, this was just okay.
Awesome book. Quincy and Nikki were strong characters and I love how she changed their whole family by just being herself.
The fifth book in the Love in Montana series. I found this to be a well written Christmas story. Quincy Ryan finds out he has a son Atlas and he now has custody of him, being a workaholic he hires failed actress Nicki Darren as a babysitter. I enjoyed reading their story.
Great Christmas story. Fulfills the traditional Christmas memories of being a child. Great romance going on behind the scenes.
Such a great book. Wonderful character and story development. No trashy words!!! Thank you Dani Collins!
Suspense keeps you interested to see what comes next
Loved it! Quincy was a hoot!
Great read
It is getting time to start reading some Christmas stories and this was a good one to start with. They were both in need, Quincey needed a Nanny and Housekeeper for his four year old son he just found out about and had sole custody of and Nikki needed a job. Nikki was so homesick for a real Christmas and here was her chance to go all out for Atlas who had just lost his Mother. But Quincy and Nikki ended up with the best Christmas.
