She’s got it all… on paperBusiness investor Carrie Morgan is guarded for a long list of good reasons. She’s battled her way to the top of her industry, dealt with enough bad sex to put her off men, and if her painful past has taught her anything, it’s that commitment always ends in heartbreak. When Carrie’s sister asks her to sit for a portrait—as a bride—she uneasily agrees. Anything for … agrees. Anything for Emmie. Even if it means intimate nightly sessions with her secret fantasy: artist Edwin Prince.
Rejected by his family and treated as temporary by past lovers, Edwin will settle for nothing less than commitment — and wants that and more from the beguiling Carrie Morgan. Startling them both, she allows him to unwind her emotional bindings one intense interaction at a time, until their chemistry builds so high, she’s blinded to the fall.
And the only way out is to break both their hearts.

I am glad this book could be read as a standalone but now I want to go back and read the first book in the series. This book hooked me from page one. I knew reading the blurb I was going to like this book.
Carrie has plenty of money but isn’t happy. She wants her life to revolve around more than work. She has a hard time letting people in so when she meets Edwin she doesn’t know what to do. He wants the chance to prove to her he can make her happy. Carrie decides to protect her heart by giving him a time limit. She doesn’t open herself up to others easily but now that she’s finally ready will Edwin believe her.
I really enjoyed His Billionaire Bride and am looking forward to reading more work from this author.
This was one of those books that turned tropes upside down and did it in such a clever and unique way you’re left wondering how the author pulled it off. Ash’s prose is clever, witty and she paints characters that have such depth I was left in awe.
This is a beautifully written story and I can’t wait to read more from this author!
In this book we meet Carrie, who is billionaire. Her sister ask her to be a model for Edwin, who is an artist. Carrie will do anything for Emmie.
Sparks fly between Carrie and Edwin, but do they have a future?
Great storyline and characters.
The book information caught my eye right away as did the eBook cover. I thought, “Oh, this one is really a different slant and could be really good.” And it was. I also noticed and liked the descriptive flavor of this author. She made things come alive. And it made things feel that way too!
I loved the main characters. They couldn’t be more different if they tried. They couldn’t have been more incompatible if they tried and they shouldn’t work. On paper they don’t but together now that is a different story.
Edwin was bright, likeable and joyous and with so much talent. It cracked me up that people had a nickname of sorts for Carrie. She was the wolf and intimidated the daylights out of just about everyone. But I liked even more the nickname Edwin gave her and how it came about. Her talent was from a totally different realm than Edwin’s. She was brilliant in the business world but what most people didn’t see was how precious her family was to her. She carries a lot of pain caused by family losses and failures in the romance area. That makes her incredibly self protective. Edwin carries pain as well but that turned out to be quite a surprise to me where a lot of it was coming from. Not the fact that people would be attracted to him and his energy. Not that when they had got “all they wanted” and then they abandoned him. All of that was bad enough but there was even more reasons for his pain and you will have to read the book to find out why. One of his secrets made me a bit uncomfortable but the story was so dang good that I just kept reading.
All of these things and more made it an emotionally good story.
It all comes to a stunning, emotional, brilliant ending.
You might also like to take a look at the the excerpt of “The Wedding Obsession.” Its the first book that features Emmie (who is Carrie’s sister) and Bran.
“I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”
Uniquely original and beautifully written. I couldn’t get enough of Carrie and Edwin.
Carrie and Edwin were as different as night and day. Together, they had a love so strong, everyone around them could feel it. Carrie was afraid to love because she feared losing someone, so she put a time limit on relationships. Edwin just wanted someone to love forever. He was done with temporary relationships. When Carrie’s sister hires Edwin to paint a bride on the side of her building, she wants Carrie to be the model. Carrie refuses to wear a wedding dress, but Edwin had a way of convincing her to do it. There was just something about him that could make anyone relax and let down their guard. From there, the romance builds and it was heartbreaking knowing it would end after only two weeks. I couldn’t wait to see how the author would turn the story around and give them a happily ever after.
This book was so good, I wasn’t ready for it to end, but I was happy to see Carrie and Edwin come together. I wasn’t sure what to think when Edwin’s secret came out, but it added a lot more depth to the story. At the end, I couldn’t help but get emotional. It was like watching a scene in a movie that you need a big box of tissue just to get through it. This book is the second in the Morgan Sisters series and can be read on its own, but I would recommend reading The Wedding Obsession first so you an get a good feel for the sisters. Plus, Emmie’s story is really good too.
He wants to take a chance on love and she is too afraid due to her past experiences. Edwin is a young artist booked to paint a portrait of Carrie who is a workaholic. Their connection is profound but Carrie is walled off with a shield around her heart. She sets a time limit to their relationship but Edwin wants more and believes that he is the man for her. Will she lose him because of her insecurity or will she figure it out in time? I voluntarily agree to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.
His Billionaire Bride is a standalone however I have to say it is wonderful to have already been introduced to some of the characters in book one; the story does stand on its own. I was gobsmacked after reading book one and was totally floored with book two. I don’t want to give away any spoilers so I will tell you what I loved about His Billionaire Bride.
Carrie Morgan is a force of nature. Her personality is persnickety and prickly and warm and wonderful and loving. She is fierce where her family is concerned but mainly lives in her own little world where she is safe from social interactions and having to show her feelings. She’s been burned, badly and she deals by retreating into herself. I also enjoyed the work interactions within her company that reminded me so much of my time working with startup companies and the well-to-do founders. Edwin Prince is a talented, loving, sweet man who is amazing…and amazing at driving Carrie crazy. Loved him! And talk about his talent as an artist – it is fascinating how the author describes his art and talent so that you can actually see and feel it.
The author put much heart and soul into this story, and it shows. The characters experienced love, hurt, sorrow, joyfulness…so many different emotions from one end of the scale to the other. Carrie’s and Prince’s journey is up, down, and around but there is much genuineness in it that it touched me in all the right places. Don’t get me wrong – I really had some major issues with Prince’s parents and his friends. Carrie’s family has so much going on in their individual lives, but they always band and stick together, and fight for one another; it seems that is how they actually survive and flourish. There are big life issues in this story but Ms. Ash dealt with them smartly, with love, and touchingly. Both Carrie and Prince have to overcome self-recrimination before they can help themselves, and each other. Thru it all, I really liked that Prince always knew who he was and stayed strong. It was only by using his strength could he help Carrie.
I am really enjoying this series and can’t wait to read about another Morgan sister. I highly recommend this story and the series.
