Is it too much to ask for a relationship that works? When Stella Grant realises her perfect romance is a lie and that she’s the other woman, she flees to her remote cottage in the Highlands to lick her wounds.Billionaire currency trader Jack Maclean has nothing but contempt for the woman who stole not only his sister’s fiancé but quite possibly a family heirloom to boot. Nonetheless, he wants … Nonetheless, he wants answers and he intends to get them. A quick trip north should do the trick. Never in a million years could he have predicted a kamikaze sheep and inclement weather would leave him stranded.
Jack might be gorgeous but Stella isn’t in the market for a man, especially one who hates her. No matter how attractive he finds her Stella is the very last person Jack should want. The trouble is, they’re all alone and the chemistry is irresistible, and, well, what happens in Scotland stays in Scotland, right?

I loved this sweet story. The chemistry between Stella and Jack was magical.
A Beautiful, short and sweet book. Jack snd Stella are so good together. They both had intense connection from the start. Stella is confident and really brave throughout the story. I loved this one and waiting for next read by the author.
Be sure to have a box of tissues handy because you are sure to use them. A beautifully written book with a HEA. Who could ask for more!
Really enjoyed the reading. Couldn’t put it down.
One of my favorite reads of the summer. You can’t help but fall in love with the characters and find yourself rooting for them.
Your sister is conned by her cheating boyfriend into blaming the other woman. You believe her and the claim the woman has a family heirloom. It is key to liking this story that you accept a brother being livid on behalf of his sister and family. I chose to accept it and proceeded to enjoy the story.
I understood how a man whose wife died during pregnancy could go a tad crazy.
I understood how a child taught all her life she is unloveable and unlikeable will not be able to see it if anyone does like her. If you have never experienced that, count yourself blessed.
Accepting all of the above, it is a great story of psychological and emotional growth.
This is a touching romance!
When Jack Maclean lost his wife and unborn child it almost destroyed him. He was determined to never suffer that pain again and to do that he would fiercely protect the people he loved. When his sister’s fiancé was lured into an affair that ended her engagement Jack leapt to her defense. He would seek out the ”other woman” and make her pay for her treachery.
Stella Grant dumped her boyfriend as soon as she got the call from Cora Maclean informing her that Brad was her fiancé and not the single he claimed to be. Stella believed in family and love even if she had never experienced it as a child or as an adult and to think that she had torn apart an engaged couple was devastating but she had not done it intentionally. She was as much a victim as Cora and when Jack showed up implying that she was a vamp and a home-wrecker she was in no mood to listen to his accusations, especially if he was not willing to hear her side of the story.
I enjoyed the storyline of how two damaged people could still find love and learn how to trust again. This is a touching romance and with a happily-ever-after ending.
Delightful feel-good romance. This novel was an easy-to-read, page-turner, a hot and steamy enemies-to-lovers story of Stella and Jack. They are both severely traumatised by past events in their lives and although the cause of their pain is different, they both travel a certain road to put the past behind them. Their one-night steamy encounter results in an unexpected pregnancy, which forces them to face up to their responsibilities and try and get to know each other so, they can successfully co-parent the baby. The book was delightful to read and all characters in the story had been very well described. The author is a good storyteller, with very good command of the language, great dialogues, arguments and atmospheric scene description. I can happily recommend this HEA novel.
I enjoyed sitting down and spending the weekend with these characters. I was missing something I cant put my finger on but will look up more by this writer.
It was complicated but in the end, it was a good book.
Good book and interesting setting, with great great characters.
Loved the characters and it’s tie to another book I read. Love to get lost in someone’s life/love when I know people who have been in a similar situation. Fairly quick read and a fun,at times, read.
Love the strong female character who actually doesn’t see herself as such.
I like the story.
This is a great book. Enjoyed it alot
Didn’t know what to think when I started reading this one. The accidental baby troupe was almost too much with the rest of the story but once I started reading the characters grabbed a hold and kept me reading until I finished the story. Great story and wonderful characters. Would definitely read another by this author.
Great read. Great story.
Cute, quick read.
I enjoyed
Very enjoyable for a free read.
Likeable characters and decent storyline that kept me entertained.
Though I would like to read Cora and Lucas’ story, I will not be buying it.
