Fans of New York Times bestselling authors Samantha Young, Sylvia Day, and E. L. James won’t want to miss this modern—and deliciously wicked—take on a classic fairy tale . . . She never should have come here. Twice a week, Lily Moore comes to work for me, stealing my breath with her light and beauty and sweetness. She doesn’t know the dangerous path she’s on. All she knows is that I am a … she knows is that I am a reclusive artist living on a crumbling estate. That I am scarred, broken by life. A beast . . .
Lily ignites a hunger unlike anything I’ve known, one that could shatter the isolated world I live in. Even as I see the same longing for me in her oh-so-blue eyes, I know she belongs to another—one who does not deserve her. But it’s just a matter of time before the tension between us breaks. For this beast will have what he desires. To hell with the consequences. This is my world . . . and I will claim my beauty.

Aw “His Beauty” made my heart hurt it was just so charming and heart-warming in all its entirety.
So, If a book or movie mentions beauty and the beast at all in its blurb or comparison then I’m totally sold on the concept and seen as this is my all-time favourite fairy tale I so couldn’t justify passing the opportunity up to add another notch to my already overflowing belt.
So this was a rather easy read that’s simplicity just worked.
And I was ecstatic that this ultimately turned out to be a winning experience for me as got to say my last few themed reads have totally crashed and burned.
This did not.
“His Beauty” took an old classic and revived it with a fresh modern sexy spin.
Dragging this “beauty and the beast” themed read kicking and screaming into the current century.
And with Grayson and Lily being such relatable individuals you couldn’t help but fall deeply in love with the whole journey these two lovers took towards there own personal HEA.
Grayson was a tortured scarred recluse waiting grumpily in the wings of his mansion for that special someone that could see past his scars and inner wounds and pull him out of the darkness into the light.
Lily was that light and deserved so much better than what her hand in life had dealt her.
with her fiancee.
Reed was a total tosser and I was urging her on subliminally to dump his loser arse.
Grayson was a sculptor and Lily had such a deep connection with one of his earlier creations “The Lovers”
And Grayson encouraged her on to explore her art and love of photography further, these two just meshed together so well.
Grayson saw the potential in Lily from the start, he saw depths that she had yet to explore.
While Lily, in turn, wanted to help Grayson embrace his true future with her urging him on from his side, whatever it took.
And though this was a slow burn romance it still delivered on all fronts so beautifully.
There was no OW drama and despite appearances no cheating on Lily’s part.
This was also duel POV and though there were minimal secondary characters here, what there were I loved and connected with so much.
Lily’s mum was wonderful and in my opinion, is what has shaped our girl into the person she is.
What a fabulous role model.
I also adored Emilia, she was more like a mum to Grayson and had raised and protected him since his parents died.
Emilia is Grayson’s window to his world, without her help he would struggle to function.
she was so like a mother bear protecting her cub and this was really adorable to watch.
Reed, well he was the only one I detested and I still think he needs a total arse kicking.
I suppose every fairy tale needs a baddie and he really filled that role nicely.
So, In conclusion, this is one of my better “beauty and the beast” reads.
If you’re looking for something to warm your heart give this a try.
It was a lovely simplistic sentimental read that definitely gave me the warm and fuzzies and I am happy to recommend.
Thank You to the Author for providing me with an ARC of “His Beauty” of which I have reviewed voluntary.

Dawn –
I was excited to read this book as Beauty and the Beast is my favourite fairy tale. However, for me, this book really missed the mark. I thought with all Grayson’s issues, the book would be full on angst. What I read was a predictable plot.
The two main characters, Lily and Grayson, had no chemistry.
When a little action started, I thought it was going to be fast-paced and get interesting; however, it ended just as soon as it began.
This book, sadly, just did not do it for me.

Lily Moore loves her job as an ESL teacher. However, budget cuts have her losing her beloved job at after the holiday break. Because she doesn’t want to rely on her wealthy fiance or his family that already looks down on her, Lily takes a job cleaning the estate of a recluse. By chance she stumbles upon the artist hiding from the world at the estate only to realize he is the creator of her favorite sculpture at her nearby alma mater. She’s always been a bit enamored by the piece and had fantasized about who the sculptor might be . . . and now she is face to face with him.
Grayson Shaw has hidden himself away from the word ever since he was scarred in a car accident that took the life of his parents. All of his energy and time is thrown into his art. For the first time in his life, however, he finds himself truly captivated by a woman. He knows he can never have Lily, yet he yearns for the two days a week she comes to the estate to clean. As their friendship begins to grow, Grayson wants more . . . but how could someone as sweet as Lily ever love a beast such as himself, especially when he is terrified to face the outside world.
When Lily’s in danger, however, Grayson must face his biggest fears in order to save his beauty and keep her in his life. Will he be able to push past the terrors that consume his life, or will Lily be lost to him forever?
His Beauty was a beautiful take on the classic tale of Beauty and the Beast. Lily really is everything that is good in the world. She cares for others and makes them feel important, no matter who they are. When she finds herself in a relationship that begins turning abusive and unhealthy, she knows she has to escape . . . especially since she is discovering she has true feelings for Grayson that are more than friendship.
Grayson, while scarred, really is no beast. Life has caused him to hide away and dealing with the outside world leaves him tense. Yet, he is immediately drawn to Lily’s light and encourages her to follow her dreams and passions and not those of others trying to control her life. It’s a true testament to his feelings for Lily with just how much he is willing to try to change and adapt to be with her.
His Beauty is a beautiful love story about giving to those around you to make them happy and finding peace with who you truly are. Being true to yourself and realizing you deserve to be loved opens up the possibility for others to truly love you. 4 stars!
His Beauty by Sofia Tate is the story of Lily Moore and Grayson Shaw.
Lily job as a teacher is cut back so her income is in need of a second job. This brings her to to work for Grayson. Lily has always been a fan of his work but when she meets him in person he is an angry scared man…those scars are inside and out. Grayson is drawn to Lily but he believes she can’t get past his scars and besides she is with someone else. But the more they come in contact the more they are drawn to each other…to where they can no longer fight their feelings.
This was a really nice Beauty and the Beast type story.
I hope to read more books by Ms. Tate.
Beauty and the Beast has always been a favorite story of mine. Beyond all the CGI of Disney and the obsessive behavior of a Phantom lies a work of art. A timeless classic. Perhaps that’s why there are so many variations of the tempting tale. The story packs an ethereal punch with a powerfully relevant message. True beauty can never be tarnished. It comes from within and can be found in the most surprising of places. His Beauty stays true to the wonder of love’s healing power, with some twists along the way. Lily is the perfect heroine. A tad naive, but drawn to the beauty of the unique. Grayson is a treasure trapped inside the soul of a wolf. Lily brings out his predatory side, but his scars run deeper than the physical and wider than the emotional. He creates beauty with pure obsessiveness that is hauntingly magical, but can never find that emotion in himself. The seduction lies with the power of the heart and mind. This is a tale that capture the soul and hangs on for dear life. It speaks for itself.
