His Bargained For Bride is the fourth book in the Regency Matchmakers series, but could be read as a stand alone. Amaryllis has a plan, and a husband is not part of it. Drake’s heart doesn’t have any room for a wife, but when his dying uncle makes a request, he can’t refuse. These two just want to keep their bargain as business, but when the time comes to separate, will either keep to the original plan?
Oh my goodness, this book was a delightful combination between being super sweet with some steam, some drama, and some meddling friends and family that continually brought a smile to my face! I loved reading this book! Amaryllis and Drake completely stole my heart! Amy is so sweet and cares deeply, I love that she wanted to help others, but also wanted that love. Her backstory with her ex was a little heartbreaking, but one I feel like some can relate to in modern times. Drake has a heavy sense of duty, and while he comes off as arrogant, his heart is just as deep. I loved the story with his uncle and how that influenced the characters in this story! The ending of this book made me cry, but the whole book just stole my heart, captured my attention, and I did not want the book to end when it was all over! This is a series I’d love to live in and only hope to see more from!
I adore Lady Ambrosia.
Amaryllis with the selling of her hair now feels free to be who she wants to be and leave her old life for something new. Drake needs a fiancée not for a real marriage no he wants his Uncle to have peace of mind before he dies. Now with the help of Lady Ambrosia Amy and Drake enter into a contract where she will be his fiancée earning enough money to go to America and be with her sister. Some of the interaction is very dramatic and I loved it was so over the top! This was a cute book some wit, lots of sass, and delightful characters. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Drake marries Amy To probing his dying uncle’s life. What starts as pretending to be engaged turns into a wedding when acquaintances visiting his uncle bring a preacher. Story moves along and the charters are unique and interesting. Bunch of surprises that keep you reading.

Book four in the Regency Matchmakers series a well written story that held my interest until the end. This is Lord Drake Stowe, Amy/Amaryllis, and Uncle Jarvis’ story. I did not see that ending happening. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Drake needs a substitute bride suggested by Lady Ambrosia. So Amy and Drake try pleasing other people and get married. In name only. Drakes Uncle Julius is so very happy with Amy. Things start changing with Amy and Drake’s feeling and Lady Ambrosia is so happy that her matchmaking has worked out. This was a fun book and the ending was very satisfying. Amy was robbed, and needs money to go to America to see her sister. Drakes uncle is quite ill, and the doctor thinks he might live a bit longer if he knows that Drake is headed for marriage. Enter Lady Ambrosia, matchmaker. She rescued Amy when she was being robbed, and sets her up with Drake in a “business arrangement”. Friends push them to marry, showing up at the estate with the vicar. Amy’s first husband thought she was somewhat of a harlot, what with her healthy carnal appetite. Drake is quite enjoying pleasures with her, and also her punishments. I really liked this book. Amy and Drake tried to convince themselves that it’s all temporary, when the reader can see a mile away that they’re so right for each other.

Amaryllis (“Amy”) was trying to raise money to get to America to her sister. She raises the funds she needs, but is brutally attacked and the money stolen. Fortunately, Lady Ambrosia, a matchmaker, takes her in and cares for her, letting her assist her.
Amy had a bad marriage and was through with men. But when Lord Drake Stowe needed a temporary fiancée to grant the wishes of his dying Uncle Jarvis, whom he loves very much, he goes to Lady Ambrosia to help him find such a lady. To everyone’s surprise, Lady Ambrosia decides to pair him with Amaryllis for this short-term temporary situation. Drake agrees to pay her when his uncle dies, which will give her the funding to continue her plans to go to America. Both Drake and Amy find that they are attracted to each. But when friends try to help out by providing a clergyman for the “wedding”, the couple ends up married – totally not the original plan! Though both want to keep this arrangement professional, when it is time to end it, will they be able to walk away? Will Amy leave and join her sister in America? Or is there possibly a future for the two of them?
This was a good story with likable characters and a fun story line. Even Uncle Jarvis was delightful! Grab your copy and see how everything turns out!
I love reading historical romances especially when there is a marriage of convenience in the plot. In the case of Drake and Amaryllis, the storyline is a case of a ‘marriage of convenience’ gone away? No spoiler alerts here! You simply must read to see what happens between the very dominant Drake Stowe and the sweet woman he pledged to marry.
This book is very different to most of what I read in these styles; either the historical or the elements of power exchange. There’s a sense of whimsy in this story that I absolutely delighted in. Amy and Drake are very down-to-earth, grounded, people, yet nearly everyone else around them were completely outlandish and left me giggling uncontrollably. I especially liked reading the messages in this story about the sacrifices we make for love and that the right partner can make all the difference in the world.

This is the continuation of the Regency Matchmaker Series. In book four, Amaryllis, Amy, has cut off her hair to sell to get the funds to go to America. Unfortunately, she is set upon by ruffians and her funds are stolen. She is saved by none other than the matchmaker herself, Lady Ambrosia. Lady Ambrosia offers Amy a job as her assistant. Lord Stowe, Drake, requires a fiancee to make his beloved uncle’s last days easier. And, there we go, Amy and Drake are betrothed. But then, Calliope and Tempest from previous books get involved and Drake and Amy are married. There is much passion on both sides and they fall in love, but the details are delicious.
I truly enjoyed this rollicking tale. Loved the premise and Lady Ambrosia is still just as much fun as she was in the first book. The twist at the end was a shocker. A lovely historical tale with humor, heat and happy ever after.
Another installment in the Lady Ambrosia series of books & like the others this can be completely as a standalone story. This was a very enjoyable book & I loved the interaction between the characters, both between Drake & Amy but also with the side characters. Characters from the other books do make cameos in this story but it is very much the story of Drake & Amy. I’m not sure how many more books are planned for this series but as long as they continue to be this enjoyable, I’ll continue to read them.
Amy and Drake don’t want to marry anyone but they both find that marrying each other shall solve both their problems and so they decide on a temporary marriage. As is the way with life, things don’t go as planned and their chemistry increases the longer, they remain together. This is an excellently written historical romance that was an absolute joy to read.

Amazing & beautiful love story.
Amy is ready to leave & sail to America to be with her sister having sold her hair to get the money she needed for her travel she gets set upon by some louts who steal her money & beat her. However, she is saved by the arrival of Lady Ambrosia who then takes her under her wing finding out that she is dressed in men’s clothing to hide her body. A call comes to Lady Ambrosia’s house asking for a fake fiancee to fulfill his dying Uncle Jarvis’ wish that he marry & settled own but the woman he has paired him with is Amy which neither of them are happy about but she agrees to do it as long as he recopenses her time which will leave her affording to go to see her sister. However, she really likes Uncle & does not like deceiving him but both her & Drake are being forced to marry that same day by 2 buzybidy London ladies. Although not what she expected she has amazing sex with her new husband but eventually also starts feeling love towards him not really wanting to leave & he is feeling the same way but neither will admit to the other so when Uncle Jarvis has passed it it time for her to leave I was hooked from the start & could not stop until I found out whether they stayed together or if she did leave going to her sister. Definately recommend this wonderful sweet story.
This is such a lovely series and this book is no exception. Amy and Drake are both trying to please other people when they get married. Did Lady Ambrosia know who Drake is when she matched him with Amaryllis? Uncle Julius is completely taken with Amy as she is with him and soon her feelings for Drake change and his for her and if it wasn’t for Uncle Julius’ maxim on pride, who knows what would have happened. The end was not entirely unexpected but very satisfying.
