Quinn
I’d say I’m down on my luck, but that’s an understatement. I’m flat on my ass. Homeless, hungry and in hiding with my little sister at the age of twenty-one, I’ve never been so desperate. I’ve hit rock bottom when I get an offer I can’t refuse. Sell my body to save my sister? There’s nothing I won’t do to keep her safe. I make the rules and I’m not afraid to defend myself if this rich guy … this rich guy crosses the line. But once I see beneath his cold, calculating façade, the lines aren’t so clear anymore.
Andrew
She’s an intoxicating mix of tough and vulnerable I’ve never known before. This homeless woman who fits right into my upper-class world is running from someone powerful, and I’ll do whatever it takes to protect her. But Quinn isn’t meant to be controlled, so I’m forced to choose between owning her and loving her. I’ve finally met my match, and I’ll do whatever it takes to make her truly mine.

I absolutely enjoyed this book. This was a captivating, endearing, and heartfelt story. Quinn is a strong, beautiful, and amazing woman who was doing every thing she can to protect her sister. Andrew is a little rough around the edges, private but when he meets this fierce woman his controlled world is turned upside down. I loved the journey they embarked on.

His was a lot better than I was expecting it to be. I liked both Andrew and Quinn. I had a lot of respect for Quinn for the devotion she has towards her sister and the lengths she’ll go to protect her. Its very commendable, especially since it has them on the streets. At first I didn’t know what to think about the dynamic of Andrews offers to Quinn. I wasn’t sure where it was gonna go, but I have to say I was so pleased with their relationship. Andrew is so overprotective and really cares about Quinn. He always defended her, rushed to protect and care for her when she was in harm, and never pressured for information about her past or for sex. They were so great together.
I only wish this book could have been longer, but I am in no way disappointed. His is definitely worth reading and enjoyable. The writing was also very good and I had no problem getting hooked on this book.
With things at home taking a scary turn Quinn no longer feels safe there, so she packs a few belongings for herself and her little sister Bethy and they flee the first chance they get. Leaving a somewhat privileged life behind, and becoming a homeless person living on the streets of New York is a path Quinn never saw herself going down, but it is her reality and she has found a way to except it, she just hopes it doesn’t last forever. When she is approached by a man in suit and he presents her with an opportunity at a better life, it’s a chance she can’t really pass up, it could be life-changing for her and her sister, so she reluctantly agrees to the terms of the deal. She knows this deal could be the thing that finally gets them off the streets and on their way to a happier life, but letting someone into her life even for a short time is nerve racking. But she soon learns there are far more benefits to this deal than she ever anticipated, for the first time in a long time she feels safe, and is able to breath a little sigh of relief… that is until the past she’s been running from finally catches up to her!
The minute Andrew meets the beautiful, and highly mysterious Quinn he is intrigued, and instantly knows there is far more to her than what meets the eye, the problem is she isn’t very forthcoming with information, and he knows it has something to do with the past she’s running from. So he decides to make it his mission to make her feel safe, in hopes that she will finally let her guard down and let him in, and let someone else finally take care of her for a change. He has never met a woman like her, and the more time he spends with her the deeper he falls, and the less he wants their “deal” to come to an end. He’s never been in this situation before, it terrifies him more than he’s willing to admit, and for the first time in his life he’s wanting to tell someone to stay… question is will she?
The minute I started reading this story it grabbed a hold of me and would not let go, I was instantly addicted and left with the insatiable urge to know more… even if it meant staying up all night to find the answers I so desperately needed. It has been a while since I have read a story that completely captured my attention, and consumed me the way this story did, I was barely a chapter into this one and I immediately felt myself being pulled into Quinn and Andrew’s world and left completely mesmerized by every word. This is my first encounter with Ms. Rothert’s work and all I can say is WOW!!, her beautifully crafted story completely took me by surprise, and had me immediately regretting not reading something from her until now. Definitely one the most impressive first reads I have had in a while, highly recommend you give it try, it is sure to pull you in and keep you captivated long after the last page is turned!
