He needs someone to work with his son, she needs a job. They need to keep their hands to themselves.Welcome to Seattle, the Emerald City and home to The Single Dads of Seattle. Ten sexy single fathers who play poker every Saturday night, have each other’s backs, love their children without quarter, and hope to one day find love again. This is Mark’s story …Single Dad of Seattle Dr. Mark Herron … …
Single Dad of Seattle Dr. Mark Herron can’t believe anyone would celebrate their divorce. The dissolution of his marriage left him and his son with a huge hole to fill in their home–and their hearts. So when he overhears a lovely stranger and her friends celebrating the end of her marriage, he’s mystified–and then intrigued–by her determination to put the past behind her. But when he learns that Tori Jones needs a job, he knows this can’t be a coincidence.
Tori might be telling the world nothing’s got her down, but the truth is she’s hit rock bottom. Her husband didn’t just cheat on her, he took all her money, including her college fund, which means her marriage is over, and so is her dream to go to grad school and help children with special needs. So when a handsome stranger offers her a job caring for his special needs son, she knows she can’t turn it down–
Even if what she’s feeling for Mark is far from professional.
Now Mark’s finding it hard to keep his hands to himself and Tori’s struggling to keep her thoughts from straying to dangerous territory. Will they be able to keep their distance from each other or will being hired by the sexy single dad be Tori’s biggest problem of all?
**Note: This book can be read as a standalone. It includes lots of steamy scenes, cursing, and of course as with all my books, this has an HEA and no cliffhanger or cheating. If you like single dads who take charge, this book is for you.

Don’t ask me why but I really enjoy reading books about single fathers or mothers. Everyone deserves a second chance and nothing better than a single parent.
Whitley Cox is a new author to me and after reading the blurb of just one book I’m a goner. I loved it so much that the only right thing to do was to read it.
And once I started it…
Hired by the Single Dad is her latest release and it’s the first book from the Single Dads of Seattle series… Oh boy…
This new book explores the lives of Mark and Tori.
Mark is a doctor that divides his time between his profession and his son. He thought he had the perfect family until he got his divorce. Now he needs to keep raising his son the best he can. One night at the bar…
Tori hit rock bottom. Not only did her so-called husband cheated on her but also stole all her money. That money was going to be used to help pay grad school and becoming a teacher. Now how can she? One job offer and…
I was all smiling once the book ended… It was a joy to read it.
Fantastic plot, well written, super engaging and intense. It was amazing the way this author approached Autism. A problem that affects not only the kids but their families and everyone around them. These kids need love, even more attention and need to be understood. It was a joy to see the way she portraits Gabe.
I saw myself wanting to hold him, and the main characters as well. It’s a struggle that not everyone is not prepared to go through.
The chemistry between the two was hot as hell and Dayum the hot scenes…
It was amazing to have glimpses from the other characters for the books to come and I can’t wait to read more.
Will it take to long Whitley, to get the next one? Please say no…
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
When Tori meets Mark in a bar she knows her life has changed. Can one man really give her everything she wants and needs. Taking on a job as his beautiful boy Gabe’s therapist is everything she wants, if she can only fight her growing feelings for Mark. I loved this story, it had so much depth and the struggles that Gabe faces daily was so eye opening. The romance between Mark and Tori was so sizzling hot. The story itself was endearing and heart breaking. This is my first read by this author but I know it won’t be my last. Highly recommend this book and author.
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we meet Tori Jones and Mark Herron. Tori is out with her girlfriends after she has filed for separation from her cheating husband. While there on of Tori’s sudo friends gets really loud and explains way to much about her life at the moment. When all of her friends head to the bar Mark finally gets a chance to talk to the girl. What he finds makes he want to know so much more. Tori may have sworn of all men but she is already reconsidering that thought. Mark isn’t a man who gets involved when others are having problems but there is something about the tone in Tori’s voice that has him going to her group. When he gives her his number so that she can come for a job he believes he is doing the right thing. Will they find a HEA they didn’t know they wanted or will they find that it has all been smoke and mirrors just like the marriages they got out of?
This is an amazing start to this series. This book has its ups and downs I really want to tell you about. However I don’t want to ruin the story for any other readers. I will say this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. Also you will emotionally connect with these characters in a way you never thought you would. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
4.5 Stars for book 1 in Whitley Cox’s new series all about single dads from Seattle . This is the first book I have read by this author and it won’t be the last it had everything I look for in a great read, characters with chemistry, plenty of witty banter and friends who are loyal and watch out for each other and let’s not forget the swoon worthy seriously hot single dads all trying to do right by their children. Book 1 is Dr Mark Herron’s story and it’s a great introduction to the series. Mark’s son Gabe was left shattered by the divorce of his parents and it doesn’t help that he he a special needs child who needs a lot of love and attention so when Mark hears Tori explaining to her friends how her ex has taken her to the cleaners and how she desperately needs a job he decides she might be just what he and Gabe need. What follows is an emotional roller coaster and I’m sure like me you will laugh and at times shed a tear as this couple find there way through the mind field of divorce for children.

Great new series by Whitley Cox!
4.5 star review of Hired by the Single Dad (The Single Dads of Seattle #1) by Whitley Cox
This was a great introduction to Whitley Cox. I have been reading a lot more single parent books over the last twelve months as it has fast become one of my go to genres.
This is Dr. Mark Herron’s story and is also a great introduction to the series. Mark and his special needs son Gabe were left shattered by his divorce. When he overhears Tori Jones celebrating her divorce after discovering her ex was cheating and that he has stolen her savings, he cannot understand. However when he learns Tori is in desperate need of a job, he realises that fate has given him the help that he so badly needs.
However neither Mark or Tori expect the connection and feelings that smoulder between them. Will they be prepared to take another chance at happiness or will their bruised and battered emotions ensure the walls they have built remain intact?
This was at times an emotional roller coaster of a read. It will make you laugh, it will make you cry, it will make you swoon and I think you will be hard pressed not to fall in love with Gabe.
I appreciated the care and details given in caring for children with special needs and I felt the author handled this well.
I was riveted to this story from the first to the last chapter and I cannot wait to read more in the series.
This was a fantastic, heartbreaking and heartwarming story of second chances, forgiveness, and true, passionate love. Mark is a doctor and single father trying to find a qualified person to care for his autistic child. Tori is a young woman down on her luck following a divorce from her cheating douche of a husband. When these two meet an attraction is ignited but to keep a professional attitude they fight their attraction until they can’t. When a disappearance occurs Mark makes a hasty decision out of fear and anger. Hired by the Single Dad was an emotional story filled with heartache, healing, forgiveness, wit, laughter, passion, and love. I absolutely loved this new book from Whitley Cox and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

I found this to be a superb storyline that grabs you right from the start keeping you engrossed and on edge throughout the whole book!
Great characters that will keep your interest extremely well. The chemistry, sweetness, and twists in plot kept things interesting.
Add in drama and steamy passion and you have a good read.
All-in-all, you would not be reading reviews if you were not already intrigued by the blurb, so I will stick with what you need to know:
You will find plenty of toe curling steaminess with a laugh or two along the way, and smile on your face from their happily ever after. No cliffy, no cheating.

I enjoyed Tori and Mark’s story! It’s a well written story that is well developed with wonderful characters. Mark is a single dad with a child who is special. He stumbles unto Tori and hires her. However, these two don’t get off to a great start but his little boy wins her over. The chemistry between the two is incredible as well as the passion they share. Wonderful story.
I really enjoyed this well-written book with great characters. Mark and Tori were both easy for me to like. Gabe, Marks young son brought them together but their instant attraction is what made their relationship grow. I’m looking forward to more books in this series with the supporting cast from this one.
This book was oh, so sweet! I loved the little boy more than anything else honestly. This one is a heartwarming and lovely read right from the get-go. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book in exchange for a free copy.
Great start to this new series! Mark is part of the Single Dad’s Club after a rough divorce from his now ex-wife. Leaving him alone to raise his young autistic son, he is going through the motions and ensuring his son’s safety. Tori is currently going through a difficult divorce where her ex left her with nothing and homeless. While out one night to appease her friends to try and cheer her up, she meets Mark, who is instantly intrigued by her and has a need to help her. When her background lines up with what Mark is looking for to care for his son, the two end up in a working relationship focused on the care of Mark’s son. As they continue to spend time together, both with his son and without, the initial feelings grow into much more, and while they were both previously burned, attempt to give a relationship a shot. When Tori’s ex shows up and causes a scene and possible harm to Mark’s son, things are said in the heat of the moment and trust is broken. Miserable on both sides, will Mark and Tori be able to mend their relationship, both working and personal? Overall this was a great story with a touching storyline. I can’t wait to see what else this series brings!

Wow! This book was an amazing book. It was a page turner that I couldn’t put down. It took me on an emotional roller coaster and was thoroughly enjoyable. Gabe is such a cute boy, who you cannot help, but fall in love with and Tori and Mark have some very steamy moments. Looking forward to reading more books by Whitley Cox.

It is said that kids and dogs know a good person when they see her/him. Mark, radiologist overheard a group of women celebrating the divorce of one of their friends, Tori. Tori, worked three jobs to support her husband through school. Once he graduated, she found he was a cheater. He kicked her out, she filed for divorce. Mark invited himself to the ladies’ table and offered to buy drinks for the night. He was entranced by Tori. He offered her an interview with a friend who had a special needs child, Gabe. He gave a different name which turned out to be his full name. Gabe instantly took to Tori, so Mark offered her a job. So, now you have three people who are instantly attracted to each other. Will Liam, the divorce lawyer and Single Dad group founder take Tori’s case? Can Mark and Tori take put their divorces aside? Can they trust again? Good story. Nice flow. Excellent introduction to an intriguing group of characters. Well done! I received an ARC from Booksprout for a review.
All I can say is WOW!!!!! I am new to this author but can honestly say I will definitely be reading more by her. This is a beautiful story. Mark and Tori are absolutely wonderful together. The way the storyline focuses on Babe a special needs child is great. Instead of mentioning the needs in passing, techniques were actually incorporated. Beautiful!!!! A definite must read. Can’t wait for next book in this series

This is the first book in a new series, and what a fantastic introduction this is! When single dad Mark is on a night out, he is fascinated by a group of women who are celebrating Tori’s divorce. When he takes a chance and has a chat with Tori he finds out that she is a special needs; therapist, and is in need of a job. This is a beautifully written story which is amazing, and touches on the topic of challenges which face a parent with an autistic child. I was totally enthralled throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read more in this excellent series. I recommend for all.
It’s a fabulous first book in the series! It has a great story with heartfelt steamy sex. You can feel the chemistry between Mark and Tori. The book is not telling you they have chemistry. You can empathize with the characters. It has an accurate portrayal of how a child in the autism spectrum may behave. The whole story feels authentic! Where is the next book? [I received an advanced copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.]
