“This book was definitely a top summer read!” – Bleeding On PaperYasminePause, take a breath, and glisten…That’s the better way to phrase Yasmine Brown sweating to death on her first hike, which is, obviously her punishment for being too cheap or too stubborn to buy the outdoor-loving woman she calls her best friend a stupid gift. Most people are willing to accept her famous baked desserts as … accept her famous baked desserts as the perfect present. After all, she is an internationally renowned pastry chef.
Unfortunately, that trick doesn’t work when your best friend is also your employee.
One little trek to make the birthday brat happy won’t kill her, right?
Sutton
Halt, take a sip, oh no, she’s slippin’…
One minute Sutton Thisleton is having a drink, and the next he’s helping the most gorgeous woman he’s ever crossed paths with out of the small hole she fell into.
Most people wouldn’t see this as the right opportunity to grab a date. They also wouldn’t wander from city to city because the wind seemed to shift them another direction one random afternoon.
Good thing he’s never been most people.
One assisted hop back to the vixen’s vehicle won’t completely change his life, right?
What will happen when these two opposite worlds continuously collide?
Will they find a way to create a sweet, long lasting treat together, or will it end with one of them being told to take a permanent hike?

Loved it! Awesome read. I couldn’t put it down.
Opposites definitely attract in this fun story. Yasmine is a very successful business owner with lots of personal insecurities. Sutton is a success in his own right – not necessarily in business or a career – but in life itself. Yasmine doesn’t have much time to herself because of work. Sutton makes time to do the things he wants to in spite of work. Yasmine doesn’t like to hike. Sutton loves hiking. So, it’s a good thing Yasmine decides to give in and go hiking when her best friend and employee asks her to; otherwise, Yasmine may not have been rescued by Sutton when she slips and falls on the hike. That chance meeting leads to an unlikely relationship and lots of steamy sexual encounters, with lots of AWW and witty moments between Sutton and Yasmine throughout the story. I absolutely ADORE Sutton and all of his swoon-worthy statements. He is, in my opinion, almost the perfect guy, and that alone should make you want to read this story. Hike, Hike, Baby ultimately teaches some valuable life lessons, which means everyone should be reading this book. I LOVED it!
*WARNING* intended for mature audiences
I can’t even finish this one. There’s to much hippie scrap. It’s super unrealistic. They start their sexual relationship on the first date after meeting once Gor about an hour. I don’t believe anyone could be as “Zen” as the Sutton character. Yasmine is a workaholic pessimist and after one orgasm (for her) on their first date, their both thinking about forever? These are not shifters of any kind either. I couldn’t finish this book because it was just to ridiculous for me. Keep in mind I only read 30% . As usual, my advice it to read for yourself and form your own opinion.
Loved it. Two complete opposite personalities but with so much passion and love. From the first moment they meet, you fall in love with each of them differently and then together as a couple. Amazing.
What an adorable story!
The push and pull between these two characters, Yasmine and Sutton, was adorable and fun. Watching them make compromises on how they lived to meet the other half way was sweet. Going through the experiences of making their relationship work, despite the fact that they’re so different was perfect. Definitely a fun read.
Oh, and let’s not forget the little cameos from characters I’d previously read about – it’s one of my favorite parts!
As per the usual, Mr. Xavier does it AGAIN! Another book bae! Only Sutton is damn near perfect….to me. The beginning starts with an awkward meet-cute where Yasmine literally trips and falls at his feet. From there, they explore the possibilities that she doesn’t seem to trust at first due to her insecurities that many women face. There story develops into a beautiful tale of opposites attracting and learning from those differences. That’s the beauty of Xavier writing brain. She can weave words that make you believe the characters and they become the friends you root for. No more spoilers(just the one), just get the book, read and thoroughly enjoy as I did. I just wish Xavier had the power to make these guys into real-life men…..we could all use one of these dreamy fellas!
What a cute rom com book. I really enjoyed this book. Xavier Neal did a good job bringing the characters to life. I highly recommend this book. Five stars from me. I received an arc for my honest review of this book.
When they say opposites attract, they really mean it in this book. Great story & pace.
Yasmine and Sutton are such a fun, loveable, unique, LOL bantering couple. I find Sutton to be one swoon worthy guy with his outlook on life situations. Totally 5 star high recommend.
It’s been years since my heart tried to spring out of my chest. Not even sure I’ve ever heard my soul shout so loudly at another’s.
love this funny intense emotional beautiful love story of Sutton and Yasmine
heartstopping addicting need more
I wish I could give more stars than what is listed. I mean I saw a movie with a 7.3 stars so why can we Raif books like that but I would still give you more than that. Thank you for writing me another book to keep reading over and over again. Your an amazing writer please don’t stop, I can’t wait for more books in general. I love meeting new characters and seeing old ones.
This book is a standalone.
“Hike Hike Baby” is a romcom full of heart and human truths. It is chock full of emotions and love.
We first meet Yasmine in “Must Love Logs”. She is the owner of Yasmine’s Yummies with an affinity for polka dots.
Sutton is a world traveler with a love of different cultures. He is a glorified hippie with an old soul.
Separately, on paper these two do not match but when a chance encounter happens both their lives are thrown for a loop. Sutton is very much guided by his vibes and the ethos while Yasmine thrives in order and structure. Their relationship quickly progresses into soul mate status with each one learning new things from the other. Their chemistry was on fire and undeniable.
I loved how Ms. Neal wrote these characters. Two opposites in all aspects of life come together to balance each other out. Sutton and Yasmine are written real and raw. The obstacles they face are one’s most people face in the beginning stages of a relationship. Honesty, insecurities and compromise are main themes throughout this story. Their relationship felt genuine. Through parts of this book, I could identify with Yasmine, which is something I always love in a book.
Ms. Neal has a penchant for writing timely and relevant stories and this book was perfect. It was peppered with pop culture references and cameo’s from other characters in different series. As usual, the side characters were just as intriguing as the main characters.
If you’re looking for an upbeat, heartwarming and quick read, get this book!
It’s a fun and heartwarming read. I was captivated from the start. It has ALL THE FEELS. I loved the characters. I enjoyed the connection and witty banter between the characters. The chemistry is sizzling and steamy. I enjoyed reading their journey as they overcome insecurities it’s an entertaining read and not to be missed.
This book was amazing!! Yasmine and Sutton are the cutest most frustrating couple but in the best way. Yasmine felt like she could be me or at the least a friend of mine. I felt all of her insecurities and anxiety. Sutton was such a breath of fresh air as far as men in romance novels go. He was assertive without being pushy and so loving *insert swoon* They both frustrated me at times but that made it even more realistic. I received this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I loved every minute of this book. This is a true journey, of inner worth, life and love. This is a bit different than the usual and that grabbed me and kept me pulled in so deep I didn’t want it to end. It’s a switching of the roles. Yasmine is dedicated to her business, structured in life, and loyal to her friends and family. Sutton is a free spirit with an amazing heart that goes where the wind takes him. I connected deeply with Yasmine on a personal level, the way she uses humor to cover her insecurities and doubts. I loved how their story progressed with heart touching moments and bits of humor. It’s a must read.

The Chemistry between these two was PHENOMENAL. Xavier Neal outdid herself with this Book.
Yasmine and Sutton’s romance was witty, clever, sweet, steamy, cute and funny. After reading the book in felt so light of Heart, Like a Effervescent Bubthat is sure to produce an effervescent, You know like that Bubbly Fuzzy feeling.
Sutton and Jasmine has thier ups and downs, but they manage to make it work. Especially with all the Extra unwanted Ex’s, and thier different way of life, and Mindset.
Yasmine is a successful business owner, living with some body image issues, (But who doesn’t).
I love she loves Polka Dots in everyting. She is Spunky, With a Wicked Tongue.
Ever read a Character that you can truly relate too.
Well this is one.
And Sutton is her other half.
Together these two make the perfect pair. Him being Big Hearted and free spirted.
But will always makes sure his Lil Bunny is Happy.
Xavier Neal thank you love for this Breathtaking Story
Get ready for a different type of love story! This was my first read from this author and I had some mixed feelings on it. It was definitely different than most romance storylines, but towards the end it started clicking for me. Yasmine has made a focus in her life on furthering herself professionally, but has had terrible luck in the relationship department. Out of the blue she meets Sutton, who is the complete opposite personality-wise from Yasmine, but this is definitely an opposites attract storyline! Sutton has lived his life for himself and how he can better the world in multiple ways. He isn’t concerned with money or professional growth, which is the complete opposite of Yasmine. Throughout the course of this book, you see two people getting to know each other and building a relationship while also learning the others’ personality and how the two could build a life together. Overall this was a good read with an unlikely aspect of self-reflection and journey.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This book is truly an opposite attracts read. We have Yasmine, our business owner who is all about work, work, work. She takes one little trip into woods and quite literally falls in love. Enter Sutton, our gorgeous, no scheduling, go with the flow hippie. He doesn’t operate on time and a schedule may freak him out a bit. This couple had to learn how to make a relationship work with two very different personalities. Xavier did it again with making characters who are relatable. I felt myself many times reading Yasmine’s reactions on certain things or how she acts and go, “wow, she’s just like me.” While everything isn’t always sunshine and rainbows, this book shows the inner strength, growth and love between two amazing characters. This book is a great comical rom com and one of my top summer reads. If you like Xavier’s other works, pick this one up today!
Loved this book!! The instant attraction that Sutton and Yasmine have is so good that it pulls you in right away! Her very strict schedule and business mindset is in sharp contrast to his free spirit but this shows that opposites do attract and can grow into a great love!! Another great story from Xavier!!
