HIGHLANDER’S BURNING DESIRE:
At the beginning of the story we are introduced to the heroine, Allana. I felt the impression given was that although Allana was beautiful, she was an absolute airhead. An unconventional eccentric personality. But as the story moves on, I find that the author writes her in a different light. She meets Kendrick at a wake and is attracted to him. He encourages her to start her own business. Which to tell you the truth is brilliant. Currently she is confused because she is unofficially promised to another young man (Nevin) but does not feel for him what she feels for Kendrick. Allana’s younger sister Bettina was secretly in love with Nevin. But she loved her sister too much to ever jeopardize her relationship. So, she suffered in silence. Very rarely have I had a strong reaction towards a character. However, in Kendrick’s case he was the epitome of a wolf in sheep’s clothing. He loved himself far greater than anyone or anything. Kendrick is not murderous or a man prone to physical or sexual assault. I cannot really say he was evil in the sense one thinks of that word. He was charming and had a slick way with people. Kendrick’s character really shocked me to know that he was more real than anyone else in the story. This is Webster’s definition of CHARLATAN: one who makes false claims of identity or expertise; the famed faith healer turned out to be a charlatan
Synonyms of charlatan
fake, faker, fakir, fraud, hoaxer, humbug, impostor (or imposter), mountebank, phony (also phoney), pretender, quack, quacksalver, ringer, sham

Kendrick was all these things. All Allana wanted was to be loved and to love. To feel safe and protected. Luckily or unfortunately (depends on how you look at it) for her she kisses a few frogs before finding her Prince and boy was it worth it. But the drama with Kendrick took up a lot of the story and I was totally disgusted and reviled by him. The author did a great job in writing his character. He really left an impression and even up to the end he never relented. Allana turned out to have a great head for business and hers grew and was prosperous. I admired the philosophy of her business. Not many noble women would dare start a venture such as hers. But Bettina was inspired by her and followed Allana in her own way. After false starts and stops, interruptions and revelations Allana and Bettina got their HEA. A very intriguing story. It kept my attention glued to each page and it was never dull or boring. I do recommend it.
HIGHLANDER’S DARK ENEMY:
Excellent stories. It never ceases to amaze me how one story can tell the tale of so many. The intertwining of the people, places and things were well written. Each scene flowed from one to another. In this story the main point was greed which went along with slander, seduction, blackmail and murder. It would be difficult to review every couple in this story. Together there is a combination of a least four main couples and then an additional two relationships at a separate time. There is suspense, tension, expectation, pulse pounding action, anger, heartache, loathing, machinations, vanity, opportunity, self-realizations, romance and love. I found it difficult to put the book down. There was something going on, on each page. This will keep your full attention and you will not be bored or disappointed. This is an exciting must read and I highly recommend it.
