There can be only one…for both of them.Fae-blooded Layla holds a fearsome battle skill, the ‘power of thought.’ She can levitate, move objects and people, and all with only a thought from her mind alone. Her skill is coveted by their allied clan, and when she comes of age, a marriage of alliance is agreed upon. Her betrothed is a fearsome warrior, the son of one of the greatest Highland chiefs, … greatest Highland chiefs, a man she holds no feelings for but intends to wed all the same.
Highlander warrior shifter Tor Matheson has traveled from the twenty-first century into the past in order to find the one woman who was always meant to be his. He awaits the night of the full moon, the one night when he should be able to sense who she is. Except only one woman draws him irresistibly in, the one woman who is completely and irretrievably forbidden to him. She is betrothed to another and if he wishes to claim her, he’ll need to come up against one of the greatest challenges ever thrown at him.
Plunged between two fierce warriors intent on claiming her, Layla must decide whether to allow duty to prevail, or to hand her heart over to the one man prepared to fight for it.
Never has there been such a battle for love.

The Matheson clan once more sends a son, in this case Tor, to the past to find his mate. Layla knows she is his fated mate but she is betrothed to another and doesn’t want the soul bonding between mates. I’m having a lot of fun with this series. Fun characters and an interesting storyline. It’s a fast and easy read with fae, shifters, time travel, battles, etc.
Made me want to read next book.
I couldn’t finish it!
Love this author, she does wonderful stories.

A well written fast paced shifter romance. Nice storyline and plot. The characters are likeable and well described.
Would have liked a bit more depth to the story. It sometimes feels that the scenes could have been developed more.
Layla is a strong woman who Tor is attracted to. They have a sweet and fun journey to their HEA.
It was such a phenomenal read and had amazing characters and storyline that had me hooked certainly turning pages.
This is steamy, suspenseful and dramatic. Tor is charming, fierce, determined and protective. Layla is loyal, caring and stubborn. Layla is betrothed to an ally clan member when Tor realizes she is his chosen mate, and he has talk convince her to break the betrothal. Doonan is not happy to learn that he was losing the fae bride he wants, and wants Tor dead. Layla puts herself in danger trying to right the wrong she inadvertently caused, which leads to an exciting finish.

He has travelled back to.find the only one for him but he will be in for a fight for her. She is promised to another. Can he won his love? What will happen if he cannot? Follow their ups and downs
Another good book in the Matheson Shifter/Fae Series. This book is full of passion, drama, danger and excitement. The h is a stubbornly challenging woman who does as she pleases. She does not like anyone to tell her what to do. So, she does the opposite and gets herself, her fated mate and clan in trouble. Layla is fae and is a wonderful loving daughter. But her bullheadedness continues to wreak havoc in her destiny. Her fated mate, is Tor Matheson and he is a bear shifter. He is patient with Layla and passionate. He tries to understand her stubbornness and make allowances. When she gets herself into a jam because she would not listen to him thinking she knew better, he would come to her rescue. An exciting story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I found this book to be a very enjoyable and entertaining read! This book had great character and storyline development which made it a total joy to read!
Great Read
Layla’s father waited three years after she came of age to sign an agreement of betrothal with the son of the chief of another clan. He waited three years to see if she was soul bound to someone in their Fae village. But Cherub, the Fae Angel of Love has been busy bringing men from the 21st century to the 13th to find their soul bound mates and keep their clan from extinction.
Tor is one of these men. Although his twin brother, Tavish, has found his mate and he’s most happy for him, he longs for his own but she eludes him. He will only know for sure once the full moon shines. The men always have trials to go through before winning their mate and this story is no different. Let the hunt begin!

Tor and Layla are perfect! She is strong and independent and he finally gets close enough to her to realize that she is his mate! Layla’s father waited 3 years for her mate to appear and finally decided to accept a betrothal to someone else. I love that Layla wanted to be the one to break the betrothal. There is something about “mates” that just gets me. That there is that 1 person meant for you and you alone. I love that in these stories neither has ever been with anyone else because they are waiting for their mates. My favorite scene was when Layla was showing her special Fae power to Tor (wink wink). I love that the way the author describes how the bear makes his appearance when the “man” is at his limit and wants his mate. I can read these books forever! I love feeling like I’m in the past, I love books about mates and I love shifter stories! Keep them coming!
