Scotland has just suffered the ravages of the Culloden War and is need of healing physically and spiritually, and perhaps with the use of magick… Caitlin can feel the man’s anger. You’re setting my hands on fire!” The Healer possesses magickal powers that appear at moments of great … at moments of great distress. Is she truly a Healer — or is she a Witch? What is she supposed to do with these powers?
Fleeing from this man and others promising harm, she travels to the Highlands of eighteenth – century Scotland with a huge black wolf who is both her companion and protector.
Not knowing where to turn, Caitlin sets out for the Highlands, and Alex, a powerful and intriguing man who is the leader of a clan of brothers indebted to her for saving their younger brother’s life.
Her journey is filled with spine-tingling escapades where her magick and wits are the only things that can save her. Caitlin, the Healer, has much to learn about why powers have been given to her. It seems as if her destiny has been planned and she must find her place in the Highlands — where magick is never far away and neither is danger…

I was disappointed in the ending after such a great read. The story continues but you have to buy the book.
I liked the story line but you tried to put too much in it . You need to read how not to write a novel. Your book could be sensational but it isn’t, you put too many asides in there. Why go into the falcon making a nest on the window sill how dud that add to the story? Rewrite this and make it smother
Great characters, wonderful plot.
If I read it, it was excellent !!!!! I READ IT. JAK,jr.
I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading the next in the series.
I got a notice from Bookbub this was a free book so I downloaded it. I am glad I did. The story is totally original and exciting! I could not put it down. I love wolves, and the idea of magic and this story is full of mystery, excitement and wonderful characters that you would love to have as friends. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series. The best part,, those wonderful Highlanders are here too.

Highland Healer
(Highland Healer Series Book 1)e – kindle read by Alexa
by Florence Love Karsner
No spoilers here.
They story and plot were enjoyable, but the characters were the best part of this story. I the author enough to read more by her. Editing was not the best.
Interesting characters, mystical healer, good over evil, well written read, what’s not to like.
Likable characters (except the evil ones) including Willie the wolf. If there had been less errors, it would have scored a star higher. Multiple errors slows the reading process and increases the blood pressure.
This book had the potential to be really great, but the author made some missteps. In over a third of the book, time is meaningless. Alex and his brothers travel from Caitlin’s cave all the way to the Scottish highlands, and after a day Alex travels all the way back to the cave, to the village and back towards home. In the same amount of time, Caitlin has made it barely halfway to the Mackinnon sheep farm. In another example, Lord Warwick hires an assassin to go to the Cameron castle to kill his wife Millie’s grandmother so he can inherit the estate, making him wealthy. When Caitlin and Millie arrive at Cameron castle, the grandmother and aunt have been dead for weeks – yet these two events supposedly occurred concurrently. The errors indicate sloppy writing and ineffective editing. For me, this lack of attention to detail dramatically affected my enjoyment of the book.
Idiotic. Author describes coyotes howling In Scotland.
This book was one that made you cheer for the characters. It was a page turner and made you believe there really might be magic.
I enjoyed the story. It did get a little boring in the last book and it came predictable.
i “spot read” this book. don’t know why i just couldn’t grt into it. i hate to start a book and quit it. also, i guess i was interested in the protagonists
Premise of the story was good, but too simple a story line and not enough depth of character.
This book came out being very perfectly average for me. It wasn’t amazing or original, but presented a very nice start to a romance story with a bunch of mystery left to explore in the next books. The characters were strong and filled their roles very well in the book. Nothing was really wrong to me, and would recommend it if you were looking for a decent read to fill some time.
I did not enjoy this book. She threw it every possible plot complication that she could. And none of them are original. They all came from other people’s books. She needs to be more discriminating.
I liked the ideas that defined the book. The story line was very interesting but the writing that presented it was not well done. The writing was clumsy and somewhat simplistic. At times it felt like there was too many actions occurring so in the end none were handled well. I just feel that the quality of writing needs to be improved. The ideas are great.
While an interesting and engaging story, the progression through the book was disjointed, jarringly at times. The characters were well defined and fleshed-out.
