What is she supposed to do with these powers?
Fleeing from this man and others promising harm, she travels to the Highlands of eighteenth – century Scotland with a huge black wolf who is both her companion and protector.
Not knowing where to turn, Caitlin sets out for the Highlands, and Alex, a powerful and intriguing man who is the leader of a clan of brothers indebted to her for saving their younger brother’s life.

It seems as if her destiny has been planned and she must find her place in the Highlands — where magick is never far away and neither is danger…

Couldn’t wait to read the 2 following books. They were equally good.
Good Book
Great book!! Love the characters…fun to read!
An excellent start to the series. The setting in the early pre-industrial age (1700’s) makes for an interesting change from most fantasy novels.
It was a nice change from crime novels. I bought the entire series.
Wonderful characters. Intriguing story. Can’t wait to see where their passions next take them!
I enjoyed this story of a strong girl who’s an herbalist then finds out she has special powers.
some spelling errors which are annoying and distracting but easy to read, put down and pick up and carry on again. Story was a little predictable but interesting so looking forward to next in series
Slow to start but stay with it, it gets better. A lot of typos.
Unusual, magical page -turner story
I lilked it enough to order the next 2 in the series.
Good story
Great reading. This keeps one engaged with story . Interesting on all levels!
Caitlin was raised to be a healer. Her Uncle was the last of her family. Caitlin treated soldiers and because of their injuries or disease. Unfortunately a lot could not be saved. She was blamed for their deaths and enemies decided she had to die. She had to run for her life.
Loved Book one and two. Looking forward to other books of this type. Hope you have another book or books in mind or almost written.

A very interesting look at “Gifts”. I was wrapped up in this woman’s journey. Also brings different smaller stories together and ties them together. I enjoyed this.
