The Murrays are back in this thrilling new tale from New York Times bestselling author Hannah Howell . . . Responsible for protecting her younger siblings from their abusive father, Bethoc Matheson is in no position to rescue another soul in Scotland. Yet when she sees a bleeding man on the verge of drowning, that’s exactly what she does, securing him safely in a cave where she can return day … where she can return day after day to tend to his wounds.
Sir Callum MacMillan can scarcely believe such a slight lass as Bethoc could save him from the grasp of death. But he knows the telltale marks of an angry fist on her skin, and he knows she has the soul of a fighter within her feminine frame. Raised to be a protector of the weak by his Murray clansmen, Callum would prefer to be the one saving her—and save her, he will. If he can first survive the treacherous attack that led him into her irresistible arms . . .

Hannah Howell never fails to deliver. As a long time fan, I look forward to every novel she writes. Hannah’s stories are always well thought out, her characters are memorable and also very sexy! Highland Chieftain is no exception!

Absolutely love this book as well as everything Hannah Howell writes. She has me always wanting more and reread all her books. Recommend to all.
This book was extremely good I have enjoyed all of Hannah Howell books. The series of books that she has are wonderful the characters really just pop from the page and most of the time they are so exciting that you want to just jump in the book with them and you never wanted to be over and she is a wonderful author.
Can’t beat Hannah Howell for Highlander action. Period.
Wonderful read. Hard to put down once you start reading it.
Either I have changed or Hannah Howell has. This book seems so different from the others in the series. No chemistry between leads and the initial sex scene was creepy and seemed wrong.
I hated the ending. It ruined the whole book for me, and I enjoy the series.
Just love historical romance
Always love Hannah Howell
I have never been disappointed in any of Hannah Howell’s books. This book keeps your attention and I couldn’t wait till read her next book.
Loved this story..as you can see the compassion in both men and women…Love it when children are in the picture and are protected by caring adults..
Love this author…Have read most of her books…
This is the newest book in the highland series and it is just as good as the others. Each book is a stand alone and I have loved everyone of them. I highly recommend them.
There are very few Hannah Howell books I have not read. There are several loaded on my kindle to be read. Highland Chieftain is the 21st book in the Murray family saga. I don’t know how she does it, keeping each story unique and yet keeping true to the Murrays. Reading one of her Murray books gives the reader a chance to visit with old friends. Although her storylines give us new characters, previous ones are always lurking somewhere. Highland Chieftain is a nice addition to the Murray line. As with previous books, it is fast paced, full of danger, intrigue, and of course romance. Bethoc lives in an abusive home, with a father who in his unhappiness beats his children when things aren’t to his satisfaction. There are eight of them altogether, Bethoc and her sister, Margaret and six boys who the father has taken either from the streets or their families. He needs them to work in his fields. Bethoc tries to escape from this brutal situation by taking walks when she can be free. One one of these walks she finds Callum MacMillan, beaten, half drowned, and with a fractured leg. She hides him in her secret cave. And so starts their story. However, along the way there are a lot of issues, danger, and situations not of their making. This is another great read from Hannah Howell, a must read for her fans.
Just love to see the Murray Family stories continuing on
