I’m not the best at finishing series. And it’s not even because I can’t say goodbye or something sentimental like that. It’s more that I have this longing to meet new people and to visit new worlds. Well, in books. Not so much in the real world. So, I can read a lot of first books, but I don’t too often read last books. However, I was quite looking forward to the last book in this trilogy, so I grabbed my arc as soon as I could from BookSprout.
And in every way possible this book is a very satisfying ending. This series built up slowly. The first book was an introduction, the second books got a little more interesting already, but this third book is what it has all been about. This is Lily being able to let go of her past, to deal with the demons still haunting her and to free herself from the shackles she is still wearing. And although Bryce is there to support her, it’s mostly Lily herself taking matters into her own hands, even if she doesn’t have much of a choice.
I personally haven’t read the Ashryn trilogy yet (I will do that at some point), but this book really gave a great impression of Lily’s past, the Hunters Guild and how she grew up. I don’t get sick that often, but I was very close to feeling not so well when reading all this. And that’s exactly what I loved so much about this last book in the trilogy. It was really vivid and telling and emotional. We really were in Lily’s mind and living everything with her, especially the bad, but also the good.
And Lily is an interesting character and I really loved her journey and how it ended. Lily is not the most innocent and most perfect character. She does have flaws and challenges to overcome. But that also makes her realistic and easy to root for. Her kind nature, despite what she has done, made me root for her. I wanted her to succeed, I wanted her to become the best version of herself she could be, I wanted her to find her happy ending.
So, despite everything, I finished the book with a smile on my face.

Lily is worried over Ravi and his plans. Lily will have to come to terms with her past, in order to deal with him. Lily and Bryce are in a great place, Lily enjoys being at the academy. Lily will have to what is necessary to save herself and others.
Didn’t want to spoil story. This was a really good ending to series. Loved the ending of the characters and Lily finally putting her past in its place. I recommend reading

This was an enjoyable ending to the series. Lily and Bryce have an angst filled time while trying to deal with the horrors of Ravi’s revenge. Some times it’s sweet and caring some times it’s gritty and brutal.
