After inheriting a house in Seattle, Jax O’Connell is living the life of her dreams as a glass beadmaker and jewelry designer. When she gets an offer to display her work during a bead shop’s opening festivities, it’s an opportunity Jax can’t resist—even though Rosie Perez, the store’s owner, is the surliest person Jax has ever met.
The weekend’s events become a tangled mess when a young … young beadmaker is found dead nearby and several oddball bead enthusiasts are suspects. Jax must string together the clues to clear her friend Tessa’s name—and do it before the killer strikes again.

loved this book will look for more
An enjoyable mystery, look forward to reading more in this series
Interesting mystery with a different setting. I will look at glass beads with much more appreciation from now on!
Good book although it was really slow starting.
Great twist at the end.
Fun to read
I never thought of who the murderer was until the very end. Well written and light and easy to read.
An original mystery with the added plus of all the descriptions of glass bead making.
I thought it was a good cozy mystery even if I figured out who the murderer was about halfway through. I could relate to the bead making descriptions since I have taken some classes in that.
Spoiler Alert! I didn’t like how it ended with Alan, he really was a nice guy and I felt Jax treated him pretty shabby after all he had been through at her house. I’m an animal lover and I couldn’t blame him for being upset in the end.
Fun, easy read with insight into the world of glass bead making!
It was a good book once you realize that a lot of time has passed between chapter 1&2.
This book has a twisty plot that seems contrived. The characters are not well developed. I was bored.
I have to say I didn’t finish this book…but then, I’m an action sort of person and it didn’t grab me at the first 3 chapters…I always taught my kids to read at least the first 3 chapters before making a judgement on a book…I tried, but there was just no oomph to the narrative…and it was way too wordy, or maybe I just don’t like beads?
Really cute; I enjoyed this book.
I liked a new spin on the cozy mystery. Older, single woman doing artisan bead work. Combines some of my favorite elements – crafts, pets and mystery. No gore, fairly easy to guess whodunit, but plenty of red herrings and such a pleasure to read that I didn’t mind being able to guess. Btw, intricate enough that it was one of the longer cozy mysteries I’ve read, so you don’t feel cheated. Good length, great characters (well-developed!!). This is a series I would be willing to buy.
Would have enjoyed it twice as much if the case had built more with clues rather than a total reveal near the end.
Fun easy read….
