I loved the concept of this book. This is the second book in The Sterling Wives trilogy. This trilogy revolves around the two ex-wives and current wife of the late Johnathon Sterling. The wives become co-owners of the Sterling real-estate investment firm.
This story is about Astrid Sterling, who is ex-wife number 2 and Clay Morgan, who is wife number 3’s brother. Astrid is a former supermodel. She is a smart and caring woman. Clay comes off as a shy and grumpy man. He is a single father who try’s to spend as much times as he can with his daughter. The sparks fly between Clay and Astrid. Their chemistry is off the charts but they each have issues to overcome. Can Astrid help Clay with his trust issues? Can Clay give Astrid what she really wants- a family?

Astrid came back to America for her ex-husbands funeral. At the reading of the will, her, Tara & Miranda are all left with 17℅ of the business. Getting involved in the business was not her plan but after the reading of the will, she has decided to stay. Working with Clay has been frustrating. He does not treat her well and is very short with her. All business. Trying to lighten him up, she asks personal questions to which she is good is none of her business. Mistakes are made and secrets are kept When things become rough, secrets come out which could destroy them call

But these two are falling in love more every day. Cute story,

Have you ever had a book sneak up on you? I started reading Karen Booth’s The Sterling Wives series because the third book captured my attention. I’m a serial series reader, so I have to read the books in order. Plus, Karen’s one of my favorite authors. I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with the characters of High Society Secrets so much. This was truly a story that snuck up on me.
The Sterling Wives series is about three women who are connected to each other because they were at some point married to the same man. Upon his death, Johnathon Sterling’s will revealed that he had left 51% of Sterling Enterprises to the women equally. High Society Secrets in my opinion is a standalone read. However, in the first book, Once Forbidden, Twice Tempted, Sterling Enterprises started the process of competing to be selected as the real estate firm to develop a property for the city of San Diego. High Society Secrets picks up shortly after Once Forbidden, Twice Tempted ends.
Readers were introduced to Astrid Sterling and Clay Morgan in Once Forbidden, Twice Tempted. In High Society Secrets these two shine. Off the bat, Astrid and Clay have a complicated relationship. Astrid is part owner of Sterling, the company Clay works for. Astrid is also the ex-wife of Clay’s sister Miranda’s deceased husband. After being married to Johnathon, Astrid knows she wants real, long-lasting love. Clay is a single father who refuses to risk his heart and that of his five-year-old daughter after his ex-wife left them. As the project manager and architect for the Seaport project, Astrid and Clay respectfully are thrust together. Undeniable passion ensues, but the past is waiting to derail these two.
As a former supermodel, Astrid is often overlooked. But she’s smart, compassionate, thoughtful, and caring. Clay is a man who just wants to do the best job he can at work and then spend as much time as possible with his daughter. He comes across as shy and a little grumpy. The two have an immediate attraction to each other. I loved watching them interact and ultimately admit how they truly feel for each other.
Karen has set this series up as a mini soap opera. From the connection the women share, to the Seaport Promenade proposal, to the men the Sterling wives fall in love with, things are complicated. High Society Secrets drops a bombshell that will make the next book, All He Wants for Christmas a must read. Miranda is set to start a taboo relationship with her brother-in-law and I’m expecting questions regarding what’s truly happening with the Seaport proposal be revealed. I have a feeling things at Sterling Enterprises are about to reach a fever pitch and alliances are going to be questioned.

I wasn’t sure how this story would go. The three ex-wife friendships concept was interesting and intriguing. The relationship storyline worked really well, and the reader is introduced to a real love story that’s really good and entertaining.

This is the second book in the The Sterling Wives series by Karen Booth. This is the first book I have read by this author, and I must say she did a great job of developing the characters. This could be read as a standalone, but I will be going back and reading the first book because this one was so riveting. The way the author writes will have you experiencing everything first hand. I read this in one sitting, and I loved every minute of it.

This is the story of Astrid and Clay. She’s taken over from her late husband and it’s going well if only Clay would give her a chance. When they call a truce, that’s when things heat up between them. She is everything he never know he needed. I enjoyed this romance. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Astrid is my girl, she is strength in motion. And Clay is cool too . I could feel all of Astrid’s determination to be her own person and not be trampled on.
This story has all the twists and heat that was introduced into the first book of this series. The intimacy between the two leads was a treat to behold, I felt like I was part of their cocoon and it was wonderful.
The supporting cast is back from the first book but they added to the story and in no way overshadowed the main characters.
I recommend this book .
Absolutely loved Astrid and Clay’s story in the Sterling Wives trilogy
There is something in the air that has Clay fighting a losing battle to deny his attraction to Astrid and has Astrid trying to break through the brick wall around Clay’s heart. Astrid is asked by Tara to join Clay at the architect awards dinner, much to Clay’s despair, but the evening ends better than planned by both of them. Except come morning, Clay has built up his brick wall and Astrid begins to despair that she will ever get through. Add some plot twists that the two have to battle with work and Astrid’s secret will have you guessing how it will all end. I can’t wait for Miranda’s story to end the trilogy!
I loved the dynamics going on in this second installment of The Sterling Wives. Astrid Sterling is the former wife #2 of Johnathon Sterling, she is also a former model who is smart and kindhearted.
Clay Morgan is the brother of wife #3, the official widow of Johnathon Sterling. He’s also an architect at the firm where all three of Johnathon’s wives are now co-owners. Sparks fly the chemistry is off the charts between Astrid and Clay. But Clay’s been burned before and not interested in a relationship.
There’s a story within a story going on with the Sterling real estate development firm while Astrid and Clay work through their attraction.
I read this book without reading the first, it’s a true stand-alone, but I’m going to grab Tara’s story in book one because the series is so intriguing
With book two in The Sterling Wives series Karen Booth delights her reader with another tempting read filled with undeniable chemistry, explosive secrets and love that’s worth risking it all for. The characters were quick to pull me into their story and I enjoyed every minute of it. The ending was a little rushed, but I’m sure the last in the trilogy will wrap them all up well. Looking forward to Miranda’s story!
Astrid just might end up being my favorite Sterling wife! In the first book you got the feel that she might be a little flighty and troublesome, but watching her step into her own as she started settling in with the company and her new friends she begins to shine. Her attraction to Clay is unexpected but delish!
Clay is a hardworking single dad with a chip on his shoulder from his past heartache. It wasn’t easy for him to let Astrid in, but when he finally started to it melted my heart.
I highly recommend this book and the entire series to anyone who loves drama, secrets and steaming hot chemistry mixed into your romance. Really enjoying this series and looking forward to more.
I was stoked Astrid was the next book in the series as I thought there was a lot more to her than what we first saw and I was right, there is plenty of complexity to her and the more you get to know her the more you connect and sympathize with her. The sparks between her and Clay are crazy but there is alot against them but boy when they get together … (fans face). But not only are you wanting to see where things may go for Astrid and Clay there are the issues with the company and I am so with Astrid in regards to what she thinks is going on so there are quiet a few frustrating and nail biting moments to be had. I am absolutely loving this series and can not wait for the next book to see what happens next!!!!!

When Astrid’s ex-husband passed away, he divided his company shares between his two ex-wives and his current wife. She now finds herself working closely with Clay on a project which is made more difficult not only by his attitude but also because he is the brother of her ex-husband’s current wife.
Clay has a romantic past that is painful not only for him but his daughter as well. He isn’t about to let anyone close but especially someone who he not only has to work with but who also shared a personal relationship with his sister’s husband.
As they spend time together the sparks fly but they will need to overcome not only his trust issues but her secret if they are to have a future together.
Drama and romance fill the pages and captivate the reader making it hard to put the book down at times. The characters are realistic, well developed, intriguing and easy to get to know. The story line pulls you in, is well written and keeps you glued to the pages. If you haven’t read the previous book in the series, you’ll definitely want to after reading this one.

This is the 2nd installment of “The Sterling Wives”.
This romance begins with Grant Singleton who is the CEO of Sterling Enterprises a real estate development firm formed by the deceased Johnathan Sterling; Grant is hosting an event at his La Jolla home in California. Grant makes an announcement about passing the first round with the Seaport Promenade project and if you remember he was very much against it and with the help of Tara wife #1, wife # 2 Astrid and Clay Morgan brother of wife # 3 Miranda passed the 1st round. Grant also announces that Clay is a finalist for the state Architect of the Year award.
Astrid Sterling is a former Norwegian super model and she is ex-wife # 2 of the deceased Johnathan Sterling. Johnathan left controlling interest to his two ex-wives # 1 Tara, # 2 Astrid and his widow wife Miranda equal shares of 17% each to his company.
Clay Morgan is an architect and the brother of wife # 3 Miranda. Clay and Astrid have been working very closely with each other on the Seaport Promenade deal. They are very much attracted to each other. Clay has tons of trust issues after being burned before by his ex-wife is not ready to jump into the waters again after all he has a 5-year-old daughter to raise that his ex-wife left behind. Astrid who I thought was an airhead turns out to be much more than that. She’s very intelligent, easy learner and just wants to be a part of the company and earn her keeps.
Can Astrid help Clay get over his trust issues and trust her. Is Clay willing to let go and give Astrid the family that she wants.
“The Sterling Wives” is an excellent trilogy and I am looking forward to reading the final book in “The Sterling Wives” series where wife #3 Miranda findings love again and where we learn more about Johnathan’s brother Andrew.
