Wow Amelia Shaw did a great job writing this series. I couldn’t wait until this book can out. This is a fast paced story and some romance. The second book starts off where Ava had to hide in the Fae realm from the Council and the Bounty hunters. Ava was learning magic with Abigail and the fae mages to help her to use against the council. Ava still doesn’t think her father and Tavlor are really on her side. She learns that there is price for capture and Tavlor helps her to go back to sisters to keep from getting caught. She learns that her lover Tavlor and her father are on her side and that now she has a way to get a new trial. Will she be able to get another trial? Will they kill her on the spot? Will she be able to keep her sisters safe? Is her father really on her side? Will her and Tavlor finally act on there feelings? I can’t wait for the third book to come out.

Hiding from the Coven (Daughters of the Warlock Book 2) by Amelia Shaw
Description……
She’s a witch on the run, with the Council’s most dangerous assassins on her tail.
Ava has been tried and convicted of the worst possible crime: Treason against the High Warlock, and the Council. Sentenced to death, she managed to escape her fate with help from some Fae friends, but those friends can’t keep her safe much longer.
The Council has put a bounty on Ava’s head that has every bad guy in the Universe looking for her. Her only choice? Return home to her sisters and hide, as their mother had for so many years, and hope she doesn’t meet the same dark fate.
But Ava wasn’t born to hide. With her mother’s strength and her father’s power, standing up for her place as Heir to the Council may endanger her life, but it’s her birthright, and she’s not going down without a fight.
My Review…..
The second book sees Ava on the run from the High Council. She’s been sentenced to death, she shouldn’t be alive, her conception was a mistake! (Her father had children with another woman) her existence is a threat to the council (they are worried she will threaten their way of life) so she’s hiding in the Fae realm, but it’s still too risky, she needs to get back to her sisters…..
We spend a majority of the second book with Ava and her sisters. They all need to be careful, although Ava never told anyone (except her father) that she has sisters.
They begin to practise in ernest to defend themselves. They don’t want to live forever in their protected little bubble. And as there is a bounty on Ava’s head, they can’t be too careful.
The romance side of this book runs a little hot then cold. Ava is definitely interested in Tavlor, but as he’s half Fae, half warlock he doesn’t think he’s good enough for Ava, plus he’s also the one hunting her!!
But the further into the book we go, the more we see Tavlor battle with his feelings.
Can they be together when everyone else is trying to pull them apart?
Bounty hunters, magic and secrets. Ava has been convicted of a crime. Now she has a bounty on her head. Can her family help her? Can Tavlor help her? What will happen?

Ava may be hiding in the Fae Realm after being sentenced to death by the Council, but she’s not about to give up. Taking advantage of learning new magic from Fae Elders, she’s preparing herself for what might come her way. When Tavlor arrives with news that a bounty is now on her head, she seeks the safety of the realm her mother created and reunites with her sisters. After telling them all about the trouble she found and the danger they are all in, they work together getting stronger magically and looking for loopholes to save Ava. The relationship between Ava and Tavlor also heats up in this book. When they finally have a plan, they return to the magic realm where they get the chance they were looking for, but not without fighting for it. I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series!
Ava is hiding from the Council in the Fae Realm. She sent a vague letter to her sisters so they would know she was okay but missed them. Tavlor, the head of the Council guard, was still hunting her. She was strongly attracted to him, felt connected, and wanted him – but he was the enemy. The Fae that had rescued her from the Council prison cell, Abigail, told her that her father, the High Warlock, and Tavlor were on her side, but she wasn’t sure she could believe that. Her father hadn’t stood up for her at the sentencing. So she was on her own.
Abigail now tells Ava to be very cautious so the Council doesn’t find out about her sisters. Her entire blood line through her mother is a threat to the Council’s power since they are all heirs to the High Warlock. If the Council finds Ava is not the only one, they will hunt her sisters too. Then Abigail took her to Mage Horlow to learn protection spells she was going to need.
Tavlor came to the Fae realm to tell Ava the Council was upset at his failure to find her. So they have removed him from the search for her and instead put a bounty on her head! The money was so much that now she wouldn’t even be able to trust good people – no one could be trusted. And he felt that now, the only somewhat-safe place was to return to the realm her mother had created where no one could track or find her, where she would be totally isolated. He wanted her to hide, but that’s not the kind of person she is. She needs to find a way to exonerate herself to the Council. Will he help her find a way to fight for her birthright?
This is very exciting as Ava and Tavlor grow closer and Ava feels she cannot hide away as her mother did. What will she decide to do? Grab your copy and follow the story as Ava must face down the Council and the extreme danger they have put her in.
The story line was good. The character work was great. The book did not have a smooth flow due to the spelling and grammatical errors. With some editing and refining this could be a great book.

While the story is interesting (what with death sentence, bounty hunters, magic, and plenty of secrets) the story could be improved with better proof reading. There are many grammatical errors, double same words, and wrong word usage (such as there instead of their).
