Another fantastic read from Karly. I was completely hooked with this one and Just loved Kolton he was such a great guy and will do anything to protect and keep Carissa safe from her abusive parents. He marries her to look after her but it is not long before they start to develop feelings for each other a wonderful read with super characters I just loved it.
Overall I liked this book. It was a little long. However, I liked Kolton and Carissa. So it made it nice. Although, Kolton’s mom was my favorite character. She was a hoot. Got to love them southern mothers. Carissa’s parents were some screwed up people. Thankfully she got away from them in the end. Nobody should have to deal with people like that. Of course the best part was the ending after everything they both went through they deserved to be happy in the end.
Carissa is sick of her parents controlling her life and the straw is when her father tries to force her to marry someone in his law firm so she makes a run for it and ends up in the barn of the Reed family. Kolten finds her hiding out in the barn and she tries to leave but he makes her go into the house where his mother Bonnie makes her clean up and eat. She tells her story and Bonnie suggest she marry Kolten so her father can’t make her marry someone else. This is a great story with great characters.

Kolton ends up being Carissa’s knight in shining armor as he marries her to protect her from her truly evil parents. Always the obedient child, she had been totally controlled and used by her parents. Wealthy and abusive, they manipulate Carissa, using her to further their careers and status. The final blow comes when she is literally sold to Carver, to be married as a deal is struck with her father. Finally finding some inner strength, she sneaks out of her home to escape.
I loved the way Kolton’s mother Bonnie, champions Carissa and figures out a way to protect her. A marriage between Kolton and Carissa is decided and it becomes the basis of their growing relationship and love for each other. Lots and lots of drama with Carissa’s twisted and evil parents who continue to manipulate and get Carissa back into their evil plans. I liked the way the author builds up the drama, all the while developing Kolton’s protective alpha male responses for Carissa. The family love, loyalty and commitment between Bonnie, Caleb, and Kolton is sweet. When they openly include Carissa into their family, it becomes a heartwarming story.

Well, this is the first book I’ve read from this author and I gotta say, I am now an insta-fan. I loved this story. I loved the characters ( especially Bonnie) and I loved the suspense, it kept me on my toes. I had several emotions go through me while I was submerged into the story Ms. Morgan created. I laughed so hard at the banter between all the characters, I got angry at the crap our heroine went through, and I cried. I loved seeing our heroine find the strength within herself to fight for what she wanted. I loved that our hero found the capacity in himself to put his heart out there again and fall in love. I loved his no bs mama and the way she knew how to get what she wanted and what they needed. I loved this story so much I instantly signed up for the newsletter and short stories at the end of the book. I recommend this book wholeheartedly.

This book was about Carissa, who is running from her father (who is demanding that she marry an attorney in his firm). She ends up on a ranch and falls in love with the owner, Kolton Reed. Kolton’s mom comes up with the idea that Carrisa marry Kolton – then her father won’t be able to force her to marry someone else. She marries Kolton, but her father is determined to make her get a divorce and marry the attorney. There is lots of action at this point, with an attempted kidnapping and other violent acts until there is a dramatic ending leading to the HEA. I highly recommend this book!
