I’m kind of a lady, but definitely more of a weirdo. Hearing the woman at the table behind him say that to her friend should’ve turned Logan Gibbs off.It doesn’t. In all honesty, it only makes him listen harder. He’s had enough weird in his life to last a lifetime. The last thing his complicated life needs is a woman in it who has no clue what color you get when you mix yellow and blue together.… yellow and blue together.
Yet, her obvious blonde moments aren’t enough to deter him. Nor is her lack of finger-painting skills.
I’m a cop, not a miracle worker.
Hearing the man in the group behind her say that should’ve had Katy Roberts running away as fast as her feet would carry her. Katy’s father’s a cop, and it’s hard enough to live her life with Daddy trying to dictate her every move. She needs another cop in her life like she needs yet another thing to go wrong.
To add onto that, she can’t find a job, has no love life to speak of, and has to be the oldest known virgin in Kilgore, Texas.
Yet, when she sees his painting—a painting that resembles a piece of the male anatomy more than the lighthouse they were supposed to be painting—she knows that she has to give him a chance.
The very last thing the two of them expect is for her father and his boss to force them to marry after an eensy-weensy accident. An accident that, surprisingly, both of them want.

The past always seems to have a way of interfering in the lives of Vale’s characters, whether it’s a series of bad choices or mistakes, guilt over things that seem to be holding on regardless of how long it’s been or the fact that they’re not to blame, or old flames/off-kilter people of the opposite sex who don’t understand that they’re not wanted anymore. All of these things have a way of impeding any forward progress for the hero and heroine’s relationship, and while having a supportive family around is supposed to be seen as a positive, it also can become a burden when those people think they know best or demand that they follow the path laid out for them, not the one they would have chosen for themselves.
In Vale’s new series, KPD Motorcycle Patrol, readers are brought back to Kilgore, Texas, and introduced to the next generation of characters whose stories have already been told. The heroine, Katy Roberts, is the daughter of Luke Roberts from Center Mass and her leading guy is Logan Gibbs, a police officer himself and one who works for Katy’s dad. From the start of the story, it’s clear that these two really have no business taking up with each other, but the body and heart want what they want, and for some reason, one that neither Katy nor Logan fully understand, they’re drawn to one another and are willing to fight the odds and those who don’t approve of their relationship to be together.
But here’s the thing…both Katy and Logan have a whole heaping mound of baggage in the form of crazy exes and somewhat overbearing families, which means that their lives are challenging enough on their own, but blending their two lives together and all that comes with them, hiding their crazy, whether it be of their own doing or the actions of others, is damn near impossible, meaning they’re going to be tested time and time again and how these two react in those situations and how they come out of them will speak to who Katy and Logan truly are and just how much there is to them than most people know or care to understand.
By now, it should be beyond clear just how much I love Lani Lynn Vale’s books, and from the beginning, my pull to her stories had a lot to do with the flawed and quirky characters she creates as well as the sense of family that is built in to every series and every book written. Vale’s series center around headstrong, dependable, and gorgeous alpha males who all protect and serve in some capacity and feel the need to control everything in their lives, even their women to a certain degree. And the women Vale matches her heroes up with seem, at times, like hot messes who would be more of a headache than anything else, but it’s their eccentricities and unique personalities that draw their guys in and make them willing to do just about anything to stand by their side.
Katy and Logan’s story is a great start to this new series, and I can’t wait for more!
4 Poison Apples
4 1/2 STARS!
A fast paced, steamy, unputdownable read! Lots of familiar faces show up in the kick off of Lani Lynn Vale’s Kilgore Motorcycle Patrol series. The characters are quick to grab a reader’s attention, and though their relationship happens quickly, the connection between the two makes it feel believable. Lots of sass, a touch of suspense and a whole lot of yummy goodness! Looking forward to more in the series.
Police officer Logan Gibbs has a penchant for getting into trouble, so his newly appointed motorcycle patrol stint is kind of his last chance before he’s booted out the door by the boss who just doesn’t like him. If only he wasn’t accidentally lusting after the boss’s daughter to top it all off!
Katy Roberts is starting a new job and life is looking up until finding out that her maniac ex is soon going to be out in the world again sends her reeling into panic attacks and night terrors. Good thing the studly cop upstairs has decided to keep an eye on her. It doesn’t take any time for sparks to fly and flames to ignite!
And here’s to yet another series from Lani Lynn Vale I’m already addicted to! Hide Your Crazy is the perfect start being filled with everything from Lani’s signature humor to jaw dropping action and of course a seriously hot romance. She’s also created a new obsession called alllllllll the pictures of motorcycle cops on Pinterest thanks to the uniforms she has in this book. I’m joking. Not really.
I wasn’t ready for Logan however. The second I thought I got the kind of guy he was in the beginning it all totally changed. There is so much more to him than meets the eye. Life hits him with blow after blow and he just carries on in a way where not only do people not even notice, but they also have the entirely wrong idea of him in their heads. That is until Katy. It’s like she sees everything the rest of the world misses when it comes to him. And the love that grows between them? Absolute perfection.
Second book from this author and I can say it won’t be my last! I adore these stories so much because they give you a hint of real life, the characters are not always perfect, but they’re real! this book was so fun and sexy at the same time, that I had to read it in one sitting! I can’t wait for more!
Hide Your Crazy is the first book in the KPD Motorcycle Patrol series and this one will have you wanting to get pulled over to get a ticket if the officer is anything like Logan. Logan and Katy’s story is a little quirky and will have you falling in love with these two and the insane things they do and say. Their story has not only a fun side but a little bit of seriousness that shows heart, strength and bonds. If you like a love story that is a little offbeat with a side of fluffy handcuffs then get ready to produce your license ma’am because this is a must read.
Logan and Katy
Logan is a part of the newest unit within the Kilgore Police Department. He has a new uniform, which will literally stop traffic it’s THAT tight and an ex-wife who took him to the cleaners!
Katy is the daughter of a cop and doesn’t want to get involved with someone who is bossy or an Alpha male…but when she gets a ticket from an officer on a motorcycle in a tight uniform…..yep she’s definitely reconsidering that thought
Katy and Logan certainly have an unconventional start to their relationship and unfortunately, they both come with baggage that is overflowing. I loved this story as it just shows how complex life really is, but when you meet that one person that makes your heart sing….you just knowA fabulous tale and I want it to be July already so I can read the next one
Motorcycle cop Logan Gibbs isn’t looking for a relationship. He’s weathered one heck of a nasty divorce and still can’t completely escape his ex. But, when he finds out the woman he shouldn’t be having thoughts about at all is his neighbor, he knows he’s in trouble right from the start.
Katy Roberts has sworn off men after escaping an abusive ex. But, when she finds out he’s being paroled, she’s in for a rotten day. But the sexy as sin neighbor that she shouldn’t want anything to do with just may make that rotten day a little bit better.
With an attraction so strong and immediate there isn’t any fighting it, both Logan and Katy are in for the ride of their lives. Their exes are not the only trouble finding them, and they’ll need to figure out who’s taking justice into their own hands making anyone who’s giving Katy a bad day gets what’s coming to them.
First off, yippee for a new Lani Lynn Vale series! It’s always super exciting to see what direction this author is going to take readers in next!
I really enjoyed Hide Your Crazy. Logan and Katy do not have a typical relationship. It’s insta-love at its best, but it works without feeling instant or cheesy. Both are somewhat broken from their past experiences and both suffer because of it . . .yet when they are together, they both automatically sleep a little bit easier knowing the other is there with them.
I also loved that Katy’s dad just happens to be the Chief of Police and Logan’s boss . .. this made for both some comedic moments and a bit of tension. And, I adored that not only do Katy and Logan find love, but so do their dogs!
While Lani’s books tend to have some crazy twists and turns, I did find the suspense element to be a bit easier to figure out in this book than usual . . .and kind of wondered why it took the characters themselves that long to figure out. The romance and quirkiness of the characters, however, was spot on as usual and I can’t wait to see who’s story is up next in the series! 4 stars.
If you have read this author before, you know actually what to expect and will love it as much as previous books. If you are new to her, you are in for a treat and with this being the start to this series, you have the perfect place to jump in!
5 Love Can Be Crazy Good Stars!!!
What a perfect start to a new series! With every book that I’m reading by Ms. Vale I fall more and more in love with her characters and the stories she gives us and Hide Your Crazy is CRAZY GOOD!!
Katy and Logan really had me chuckling and swooning at different times. They meet under some interesting circumstances and come to find out they have more in common than you’d think they would given she’s a woman that is beautiful, has a sense of humor, loves her dog and her family fiercely and tells it like it is. And I swear to you Logan and Katy’s first meeting literally had me snort laughing! I mean seriously laughing out loud because leave it to her and Lou to barrel head first into police office Logan and his first day as a Motorcycle Cop…which by the way he wasn’t happy with.
And so begins this story that had me consumed from beginning to end. There’s so many nuances to this story and how all the people interweaved that I just took it all in and immersed myself in their story. And what a story it is. Both Logan and Katy have a past that affects everything they do and drives most of their decisions in their life. And while you’d think they wouldn’t be a good couple, the opposite is actually the case because they’re perfect for each other, healing each other in the ways they need to be whole people again.
Add on top of that, friends and family that are just about as hilarious as these two, add in Louis Kuntz her German Shepherd and Sister his German Shepherd and it’s a perfect pairing. Along the way to their HEA we have quite a surprising mystery brewing and a reconnection that brought tears to my eyes.
I’m so thrilled to be getting into this series and this world that this fabulous author has and is writing and I can’t wait for the next book!

Hide Your Crazy is the first title in the KPD Motorcycle Patrol series.
One of the things I love most about Lani Lynn Vale’s books are the layers and connections between her characters and series’. This title features a second generation character, but so many past favorites also make cameo appearances.
Logan is a motorcycle patrol cop, and an alpha male to the core. Despite his tendency to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and to say what he thinks that can be a tad unpopular Logan has a big heart.
Katy is Luke Roberts’s daughter, who was first featured in Center Mass, and is kind of quirky and fun.
Their banter is witty and engaging, and their story is full of heat, heart, humor and a touch of suspense.
I will be eagerly awaiting the next addition to the KPD Motorcycle Patrol series.
What did I just read??? This was the most amazing come back story ever! I just love all the guys that are in Lani Lynn Vale’s books. This new series is looking to be OUTSTANDING if book 1 is just a glimpse into the KPD. I love how the guys from previous series are making appearances, and the new kids are just as hot and alpha as all of the rest!
This come back story is perfect. The fight of two people who want to be ‘normal’ and fit in with someone is so emotional. Katy is so broken, and she didn’t think she could be put back together again, until she meets Logan. Logan is just as broken if not more! Man the way that these two are each other’s glue, shows that there really is someone for everyone out there!
I don’t think I have ever read a book where the hero has been so unselfish, so caring and have the biggest heart of gold ever! He is perfect, sweet, and sacrifice himself over and over again for people that don’t even know it! He is hated, lost any chance of ever moving up in his job as a cop and he is as far down as you can come but he just keeps on smiling, taking the beat downs but never ever stop fighting and caring because as long as he knows he is doing the right thing screw everybody else.
Doesn’t that sound like a dream man right there? Well if not what if I told you he handcuffs himself to the heroine in her sleep. Interested yet?
I thought from the blurb I knew what I was getting with this book. I was prepared for this book in my head and had it shelved as a fun, easy book to read. But well no, forget anything you imagine about this book, it is crazy, fun, weird, with a little suspense and so much more in the best way possible.
The relationship Katy and Logan has in this book are perfect. It felt so natural, and I didn’t feel like this book was rushed, or something didn’t add up it was like watching a normal relationship blooming and two people connecting. Then forget all about that when they finally get serious but my point is the starting of their relationship was so perfectly written and executed I don’t think anything could have made it better.
I will recommend this book so much. It will surprise you and take you on a journey you do not expect from the blurb. Also, the people in this book is amazing. You have hot cops around you, a funny family, overprotective dads, Crazy ex-wifes, a weird postman and cute dogs. What more do you want?

This is the story of Logan Gibbs who is a motorcycle cop, a member of a new team on the town’s police force and Katarina Roberts, a medical examiner who just also happens to be the daughter of the chief of police.
Hide Your Crazy is yet another wonderful story by this talented author. She has an incredible ability where she makes the characters come alive to the point that you feel you really know them. They are so likeable and enjoyable with all of their quirks but basically it shows them as real. Logan and Katy are a fabulous couple, very different yet similar too. Both say what’s on their mind with total honesty and at times Katy..like the rest of her family…a little bluntly. One character, Bruno, well let’s just say I am so pleased with how he was handled in the story, it doesn’t happen often and I imagine it’s hard to pull off but this author did!
Some good humour with fun banter between the characters and humorous events like forgetting the key to the handcuffs! Of course there is plenty of drama and action to keep things interesting and exciting as well as raw passion between the lead characters that is off the charts red hot.
This fast paced, easy to read story is one I recommend to everyone and if you haven’t read any other book by this author, being the start of a new series it’s fine!
Another successful start to a series from Lani Lynn Vale! Katy has had a rough start to life and a continued bad luck streak. After finally building up some good luck, she is relocated and starting a new chapter in her life with a new job in a new city. Speaking too soon, she meets Logan, one of the officers under her father, and the two are like water and oil, especially with Logan not knowing who Katy’s father is. Much like Katy, Logan is trying to rebuild his life after the rough and difficult past he has had. While the two have instant attraction, they continue to fight it until they can’t any longer. In typical Lani Lynn Vale fashion, the two build their relationship on witty banter and sarcasm, which makes the story that much better. When the people that have made life difficult for the two start getting hurt or worse and neither Katy nor Logan are the ones facilitating it, questions start to arise. The ending blew my mind, and I have so many questions that I can’t wait to get answered in the coming books. While this was the first book in the series, Lani Lynn Vale was able to still give us a full storyline while also setting the series up, something that is difficult for some authors to do. Something I love about her books is that although they are compiled of different series, the books all intertwine together and have some familiarity to them. They all intersect in one way or another and it adds an extra level to the stories. Can’t wait to see who’s next in this series!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Oh this story was so full of heart. It had me laughing, angry, and down right swooning. Logan and Katy’s romance felt so easy and real. The perfect pace even though it was like fast forwarded. There was some great suspense and it really had me biting my nails wondering what was going to happen. I loved seeing some of my favorite characters from other series by this author.
There are some unlikely characters in this book that I really Hope get their books. They were great supporting characters and I felt really helped this story. I want to say so much about this story because it was so good but if you are a fan of this author, know that she didn’t let us readers down at all. I can’t wait to see more in this series! 5 stars #2OCCJD
Katy and Rowen were some of my favorites of all of the kiddos from the earlier books, probably because we had more interactions from them than some of the other kids. This is Katy’s book, and it was everything I could have hoped for her!
Katy is a daddy’s girl. But she also has her daddy’s tempter and stubbornness! She had an amazing life, until those two traits led to one of the biggest mistakes of her life. Now, she is putting her life back together, moving on, finding herself again. Until she runs across Logan, one of her dad’s officers. Logan’s life has been a comedy of errors. One bad thing right after another, all pile on top of each other. And it doesn’t seem likely to change anytime soon. Together, their problems seem to multiply, but it doesn’t seem to be as bad!
This book had me in tears, both emotional and from laughing so hard! Katy and Logan are absolutely perfect together, and their personalities seem to mesh so well! I just couldn’t help but love them and their story. It was a fun book, in a crazy, warped sort of way. And just when I thought I had it all figured out, I realized I really had no clue what was coming next! This was definitely a good start to a new series, but I still enjoyed visiting characters from previous books!
