This audiobook’s style was a little different to other stories written by this author.
This one is filled with suspense, many twists and turns, and a very evil man.
Amber McKay and Nate Riley were good childhood friends filled with hopes and plans for a future that took them away from their little town and to new adventures.
But life turned out differently and their dreams never materialized. Nate stayed in town and though Amber left home, she hooked up with the wrong man.
Now escaping this man , determined to see her sick grandmother, she disguises herself and returns with her baby.
From that moment on, the action is non-stop. Will Amber escape Hunter, who’s hunting her, or will she lose her battle as well as her child and a future with Nate.
It was an engaging story.
As to the audio, not sure how I like listening to three instead of two POV. That said, the narration was good.
Overbearing parents sends a young woman into the arms of an abusive man. Once she finds out she is pregnant she runs to her best friend, a man who loves her. This will set a course for revenge, reconciliation and true love.
a good story, this book is a little different than her other books but still good
Her heart lead her into danger, will his love rescue her from the fall out? Ms. Ayala has conquered the world of romance with her inspiring tales of heartwarming happily ever afters. Hide my Heart detours in a new direction. A chilling one, but no less emotional. Amber wanted her independence. What she got was a life on the run with a mad man hot on her trail. Nate wanted someone to love. A life of his own. What he got was family responsibility. When a single mother with a ton of baggage catches his eye, will his love be enough to rescue them both? The thrill is in the chase, but the hope is still there to stir up the heart.
Hide Her Heart is a wicked edge-of-your-seat romantic suspense that will leave you holding tight to the ones you love. The intense longing for love and the freedom to spread your wings is inherent in each of us. We all need to be loved for who we are and allowed the ability to pursue what we love. Otherwise our world will become a dull, lackluster version of what it should be. Our heart needs the room to dream and our minds need the stimulation to grow. When we stifle any attempt to move forward, we create a dangerous situation that will either cause the person to do something extremely against their nature or else wither up and die inside. Either course of action is reprehensible and cruel. Why contribute to the slow destruction of a person when instead we could be one who blesses the world around us with the miracle of a priceless gift unleashed to benefit all?
Amber McKay is a small town girl who finds herself at a crossroads in her life and is forced to make a choice. When that choice leads her to a nightmare rather than a dream come true, she does the only thing she can. She runs. When tragedy strikes her family, she makes her way home only to find herself in the clutches of an evil she thought she left behind. Nate Riley has longed dreamed of a life outside his confining town. His dreams lay in heaps of devastation at his feet and nothing can seem to save him. The only consolation he has is that Amber was able to leave and make her way in the world. At least he can dream of what she is accomplishing on her own. When he finds Amber back in town, he does everything he can to help her. Can Nick protect Amber from the evil that is hunting her, or will he lose more than just his boyhood dreams at the hands of another?
Amber is a beautiful character who portrays the heart of so many people. She is an example of one of those who are beaten down by life and feel that they have no way out. The problem comes when others who feel they are no better off than she fail to offer a helping hand. They walk away thinking that someone else will help when then that may not ever be the case. What if we are their only hope to rise above the circumstances the find themselves in? Can you walk away not knowing if another soul will ever reach out and take their hand? I would hope that all of us would be like Nate Riley and risk what we can to bring life and light to a hurting soul. Even a small act of kindness can revive a lost and broken heart.
Rachelle Ayala never fails to surprise and delight my heart with her versatile and fierce talent. I have never walked away from one of her books the least bit disappointed or let down. This story wound its way around my heart and brought tears to my eyes as I felt the deep pain, piercing sorrow, and gnawing disappointment that Amber had to walk through. Life sometimes leads us through dark and bitter times before it brings us to the incredible gift waiting for us that we could only appreciate after knowing what it was like to live without it. This was the journey that Amber and most of us find waiting for us along the way. Only by walking through the darkness can we truly appreciate the light.
A good young adult romantic suspense! I enjoyed the sweet romance between Nate and Amber and the suspense was exciting. There were some parts of the story that kind of made me cringe but all in all it was interesting.
Amber was a sheltered preacher’s daughter with a rebellious streak when she ran away with a trapper from up near the Canadian border, but Hunter turns to be something a whole lot different than the prince charming she’d dreamed of and she finds herself on the run.
Hide My Heart is a suspense story with some dark themes and a whole lot of edge of your seat action. The book is well written with a fair damsel, a handsome rescuer and a villain who’s more monster than man. There’s even a healthy undercurrent of family values, a prodigal returned and a lesson of forgiveness, not to mention a happy ending.
I liked this one a lot.
This is the first time I’ve read one of Rachelle Ayala’s romantic suspense books and I was quickly caught up in the tale. We are introduced to our heroine, Amber, who is the runaway daughter of a small-town preacher. She is now expecting a baby and her abusive partner, Hunter, is forcing her to terminate the pregnancy. Amber is able to get away and have her son, but Hunter is trying to find her to bring her back.
I became easily immersed in this story. Even after a friend has agreed to help, Amber has to constantly be alert for signs of danger. When Hunter appears in her hometown, she knows that her friend has become a target, too.
Open this book and hang on for dear life as you journey with Amber in her quest for safety. Who is Amber’s friend? You will have to read for yourself to see how he fits into the love part of this title.
I received my copy of this book from the author with no promise made of writing any review. I conveniently already owned the next book in the series when offered this one and am looking forward to reading it, too.
this is quite a bit different than most Rachele Ayala books. But I like a good suspense and Rachelle writes as good a suspense as she does romance.
Amber was raised but church-going parents and not let out much. She runs away at 18 get pregnant by the man she thinks loves her, then finds out life with him is worse than home. she escapes and runs back to her only friend Nate hoping for some help.
The story is suspenseful, gripping and a touch of romance.
