Each of the books in the series is getting better. Finally a hint of paranormal.
Hidden Secrets, book 9 in the Blackmoore Sisters series ,by Leighann Dobbs, is another example of why she remains on my Must Read shelf! I love this series and the close knit Blackmoore women. Leighann has a skill with words that make these characters leap off the page. As per usual, the Blackmoore sisters are caught up in another murder mystery. Who did it and was magic involved is the basis of the suspense of this story. Leighann keeps the tension going providing twists and turns that keep the reader guessing until the final page!
I am somewhat disappointed that the men in their life were not as involved in this novel as usual. And really is Jolene ever going to realize that an Alpha males protectiveness is not meant to control but rather due to his inability to live a quality life without his soulmate! As usual, their cat Belladonna , is a major contributor to solving the mystery ! I love that quirky cat!
This is a great novel to curl up with during your afternoon tea!
Great book! I loved the other books in the series too.
Not as good as previous books
Thoroughly enjoy Dobbs!
The plot of this book in the series seemed really forced. Morgan thought she had lost her powers of intuition, but she lied to just about everyone. She lied to the sheriff about her truck having been at the home of a murder victim. She lied to her sisters about having visited Clementine, the murdered healer. She lied over and over as the sisters considered clues and suspects. The lies themselves didn’t bother me; what bothered me is that Morgan is a thirty-five-year old woman who is characterized as though she were sixteen or younger. What a disappointment.
I like the characters interaction with each other.
One of a series of books about four sisters who all have magical/paranormal gifts. The story occurs in New England. One loses her gift of intuition but does not want to tell her sisters. Accused of murder, she and her sisters investigate to find the real killer. Dobbs keeps the action moving and develops her characters. It can be read stand-alone or as part of the series.
Not Dobb’s best. This just isn’t up to her usual standard. The characters are one dimensional, the plot silly. The most appealing character is the cat.
As always with this author, tough to put it down.
thoroughly enjoy books written by Leighann Dobbs
Not my normal genre, but it was fairly good.
It was to boring and I didn’t finish it!
Unique and a real page Turner! I truly enjoyed it
It’s always fun to meet another witching family and see how their powers grow. The location is great and accessible, mentally to those of us who have visited the area.
Seemed to me there was a lot of repetition to move the story along. No need to keep harping so frequently that her powers were list..we know. Or the mother had been abducted though not having read the entire series could have used a tad more exposition.
Was it a simple distracting easy read..yes would suggest to someone looking for a distracting read that didn’t tax
Not as engaging as the rest of the series. Too much repetition of the secret — she needed to get over herself & fix things (don’t want to write any spoilers). I hope the next book is back up to the high standards of the rest.
I always enjoy her books and this was no exception.
One of my most favorite authors!!! Absolutely love the Blackmoor sisters and their kitty cat! Once I start reading, I don’t want to stop! Reading all the books in this series! Once I finish, I will begin one of her other series!!! Love love love
This book was fun to read. It’s a sure bet when you want to get away and escape for a little while.
