This was a steamy addition to the Glacial Blood series and the character dynamic made it an interesting read.
Overall I enjoyed the story, the characters were interesting and I loved getting to see some familiar friends…and enemies.
In places I felt some of the character development was lacking and I’d have liked to see more of Hunter’s backhistory and inreractions with the pack. He was a strong alpha and I rather liked his bossiness as leader both in and out of the bedroom.
Kingsley was my favourite from this installment in the series, his character’s strengths and weaknesses were well developed and he was the most influential character to me which was great as he’s the human among shifters.
Lily was fascinating and I loved the history behind her motives and drives as well as how she was tied to Nuka. In some places she could have shown more strength of character but I believe this to be intentional due to her past.
In spite of my overall enjoyment of the story I felt a few areas could have had some more detail and attention added to them, particularly the scenes involving Nuka and Ciaran. I didnt feel the usual menace and powerful vibes from Nuka I’ve come to expect.
As a whole for the story I’d have liked to see some more intensity and suspense. I eagerly await the next book and while this was not my favourite it is still a great addition to the series
When I saw the cover to this book, I knew it was going to be super sexy! To be clear, this is not a love triangle, but a story of three people falling in love. Kingsley is the son of Senator Ross, the crazed man who tried to expose shifters to the world, Lily is the shifter who was working with Nuka, the polar bear shifter villain we were introduced to in book one, and Hunter is the alpha wolf over his pack and is in an alliance with Kas – Nuka’s brother – and leader of the Glacial Blood Pack. This book picks up where the previous book ended, with Lily captured and Kingsley healing from the wounds his father inflicted. They are staying at Hunter’s home and under the protection of his pack. The relationship between Kingsley, Lily, and Hunter seemed to move pretty fast and I would have liked to have seen a little more build up between the three of them. This book mainly focused on Hunter and his pack and the rising complications of him being their alpha and being in love with two outsiders and the storyline with Nuka and his mission to eliminate the human race somewhat took a backseat in my opinion. However, the sexual chemistry between Kingsley, Lily, and Hunter was off the charts and I loved how Hunter set aside his fears and did what was best for him and his pack! I am still anxiously awaiting Kas’ story, but in the meantime, I think the next book will be very interesting as we get to see a love story from the enemy’s side and hopefully get an inside peek at what Nuka is up to!
Solid read
I enjoy Edward’s work
And this was no exception
The running series plot is getting more twisted and I’m questioning how many lives will be lost if this war comes to be?
It’s almost as if the balance of power is shifting and not in a good way.
Mr. Big bad Alpha Hunter needs to be knocked back a peg or two. He is a good leader and one gifted lover but for some reason, he kept rubbing me the wrong way. The scene where he acted without questioning when he should have known all was not as it seemed sent me into a complete fit. It took all I had not to walk away from. Yes, I was that livid – on a positive note it does show I was invested in the characters .
Lily … I’m glad she found herself and the truth.
Kingsley has a way to go still but watching him make those baby steps brought on a serious case of the feel-goods
Ebony … bi @ tch, please! You are as transparent as a Ziploc.
Looking forward to seeing where this takes the Glacial Blood pack. How far Nuka will take his quest. Oh, and if the whole gramps thing will work.
The best of all so far! Hunter is the Alpha of the pack of wolves in Kansas, a place where some in the Glacial pack took refuge, after dealing with Luca. Kingsley has stayed behind to continue to heal, from what his father inflicted on him. Lily is a prisoner of the Glacial pack, who is being held, because she revealed secrets, that should not of been revealed, but Luca has been causing so much pain and damage. These three come together to heal the damages, to their bodies, and souls and live their best lives. There are still challenges to overcome, will these three meet them? I suggest you read and find out!
This book is fantastic!! It’s a story with issues that everyone can relate to- lies, prejudice, abuse, deceit, love and so much more. No matter what you do in your past you aren’t broken just banged up and bent. This is a beautifully written story about Kingsley (human), Hunter (wolf) and Lily (bear) and how they overcome everything that is thrust into their path. All three of them have fears to face, some of them worse than others. Will they conquer their fears together or let their fears rule them? Their bond is one of legends hopefully they won’t mess it up. This story is gripping and captivating and I can’t wait for the next installment of this series!
loving this series
intense emotion beautiful amazing heartstopping
love story of Kingsley Hunter and Lily
Ready for more
I loved Hunter, Kingsley and Lily
WOW! This book was AMAZING. I couldn’t put it down. It was so much more than I originally thought and some of it hit really close to home.
Hunter, Kingsley and Lily’s story is a heart wrenching page-turner that made me laugh and at times cry. All three of them have fears that they must face, some worse than others, but all are equally limitations left hidden. These three are the most unexpected trio in their community… wolf, human and bear, but together they are absolutely perfect together in every way. Their bond, strength and unwavering love as a united trio pulls at your heartstrings.
In Hidden Pain the author took three characters and wrote a storyline consisting of some of the struggles people face everyday… abuse, prejudice, lies, deceit and much more. And she has written and captured their story so beautifully. Showing that no matter your past, you are not “broken” so perfectly.
Includes of M/F, M/F/M and M/M
Highly recommend

A decent read, kept me entertained and was enjoyable.
Hidden Pain is a red hot menage story, with a good plot and well paced. It is the first Glacial Blood book I have read, but I didn’t struggle at all with catching up on the back story. I would say this can easily be read as a stand alone.
I found the writing style very easy to read, dialogue flowed smoothly and I always knew who was speaking. The world the author has created was very engaging and intriguing too. The idea of three damaged individuals, each with their own hurdles to overcome, finding acceptance and love with each other made this a very appealing read.
For me personally the romance lacked depth, problems were solved a little too easily and it was pretty much an insta-love story. I prefer a build up to my romance, unresolved sexual tension, lustful looks and erotic thoughts. This had them jumping into bed together without even having really hinted at any actual attraction between them. I’m all about connecting emotionally with my characters and being shown the depths of their feelings (with descriptions of physical and mental responses), rather than told they are in love. That’s a ‘me’ thing – I really need to be dragged into believing in the romance and love side of things, and whilst this was good, it didn’t quite manage to achieve that.
The book is very typical of the shifter genre, and I’m sure would be greatly enjoyed by those that love this type of story. There is plenty of intrigue, some power plays, hot MMF scenes and an interesting story arc running in the background. I would happily recommend this to fans of shifter books.
I’ve gotta go with 3.5 stars on this one. Let me come right out and say I’ve read none of this series to date, however that has no bearing on my review. I read an Anna Edwards book in the Cavalieri Della Morte series and it was amazing so when I saw the sign up for another of her books, I jumped.
The story itself in Hidden Pain is great. I didn’t struggle at all jumping in to the middle of the series. Lily has realized her feelings have been used against her and Kingsley and Hunter are right there to defend her. Kingsley is coming to terms with what his father did to him, and Hunter? well, he is trying like hell to keep his pack together.
My biggest issue was the depth. Hidden Pain for me lacked depth, lacked the back and forth between the characters. The romance, the struggle..everything just happened way to easily and quickly. There wasn’t a lot of emotion or feeling. The storyline was right on the mark, it just needed… something.
It was an easy, quick read and if that’s what you’re looking for you’ll be exceptionally happy. The sexy was hot.. I love menage..no matter the genre.
The overall story though? For me? I need a little more umph… a little more depth…a little more developed character byplay.

This was a great addition to the series and a smoking hot menage. It was a super well-written book and I enjoyed getting to the characters. If you read and enjoyed the previous book then you won’t want to miss Lily, Kingsley, and Hunters story it was a really good paranormal romance
I hadn’t read any of the previous books in this series (The Glacial Blood) and I wonder if that’s one of the reasons I wasn’t pulled into the story. Kingsley is a human who now lives with the shifters after his father disfigured him, Hunter is the pack’s alpha and is responsible for everyone in the pack, including Kingsley and Lily (a captive). Love blooms between the three (it’s an MMF) and they need to overcome a lot in order to live in peace and harmony, not only with each other, but also within the pack. I wasn’t pulled into the story, it didn’t keep my interest, but like I said previously, I wonder if some had to do with the fact that I didn’t know the backstory or the characters. Normally I would give a story like this three stars, but Ms. Edwards has crafted a well written story. The writing flows and the story arc is good. It just didn’t do it for me. I’m sure that it will do well with lovers of pnr, shifters, and MMF.
*** I was given an ARC of this story and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Loved the book it was great the story was well written and the characters were interesting. Lily is a bear shapeshifter, Kingsley is human that his own father disfigured him and then you have Hunter he is a werewolf from nobility in Kansas. The three find an understanding and love for one another. Hunter was married but devorced and stopped looking for his sole mate.

This was a very emotional and complex MMF romance. My heart ached and melted as I read this book. There is a lot of tension, drama and emotional turmoil as Kingsley, Lily and Hunter’s story unfolds. I loved this powerful and beautiful romance. I found the story quite gripping as these three struggle to move beyond the pain and baggage that each one carries while forging a relationship.
I love the Glacial Blood Series. I love how all the stories are unique and have a HEA, but I really love the whole one for all concept. The we are family vibe is a plus.
Hidden Pain is about Kingsley, Lily, & Hunter. The three wonderful people who are two shifters and a human. Each one has a hidden pain and each one overcomes that pain. They help each other out when needed and they are there for each other. I love a good mmf story.
Lily is a bear shifter who been manipulated in thinking that humans are a danger to the shifter world but when she realizes that all humans isn’t what she thinks Lily start to see the world differently.
Kingsley is a human that’s been through some terrible things at the hands of his father. When he start to realize that all is not lost with his talent and start to make some art, Kingsley start to understand that his gift is apart of who he is.
Hunter is an alpha wolf, who wants better for his pack and himself. But, when he makes a decision to keep outsiders on his grounds, some of the pack don’t likes Hunter’s choices.
Anna, this a good story and can’t wait for more.
Anna Edwards is fairly new to me. I have read her stories in an anthology a few months ago and fell in love with her writing. She really is amazing. She can weave a story together that will have you dropping everything just to say home and read… Because of fuck responsibility and adulting right? Well, this was the case for me. I couldn’t get enough and devoured it in hours.
I’ve always loved paranormal romances, but I often find myself shifting away from them for lengths of time, I am picky when it comes to anything paranormal but once I find an author that I like, then i go all in and that’s what I did with this book. I was beyond overwhelmed and intrigued, so much was going on and I loved the fact that it included the entire family. It’s dark in a way, as are most shifter books. I found myself obsessed with the Ross family and knowing everything about them, then add in a bit of MMF and I was completely addicted. It was different for me but in a good way. The MMF and the paranormal mesh together worked well and the author has created a fantasy world I never wanted to leave.
I won’t and can’t go into much more detail but what I can say is… This book is amazing. You will be intrigued, you will get lost into the plot and suddenly you will find yourself at the end of the book, but wanting to backtrack just so you back read more!
5 solid stars!
A five star book to be read. I thoughly enjoyed reading this, even though i havnt read any in this series as yet you can get the gist of what has happened thoughout the books previously written. Three individuals , who each have individual pain in their lives. Hunter, Alpha of his clan, he loves his people but his pain is that he loves two others he admits that to them in the bedroom, but to his clan he says nothing. Kingley, his father chopped his finger off, and fears that he wont be able to do any more tattoos, it was his passion and lively hood, he also fears that he will become like his father. Lily, she was caged when she was young, forced to watch her parents die because they wouldnt shift on demand, then she was taken in and used by a bad man.
A war is coming and only Hunter can keep his pack safe, but there are members trying to turn everyone against him, especially with all the extra people he has living with the pack at the moment things are coming to a head. But more importantly he has this strange feelings for Kingley and Lily. He is sure lily is innocent and just a pawn, together the three of them are an item, but can he keep them all together as things are heating up in the pack.
I love a good PNR plus we get MMF and this one was exciting, Kingsley has a second chance human living with his best friend Hunter and now their captive to protect Lily who are shifters and she seems to be the key to bring this all together and they fall hard. There is danger everywhere and who is telling the truth and it makes it so dangerous and an ex wife Ebony causing havoc on everything she touches. Full of secrets twists and turns you wont see coming plus we get to see the past characters and their babies. This was one I couldn’t put down excitement on every page.
Kingsley has been maimed by his father when he was a child . He never thought he could be a tattoo artist again before of fingers missing. . Isabel, Kingsley sister was being married to her childhood sweetheart and one of his best friend. Hunter a wolf shifter invited Kingsley to join his pack of shifter because he was not going back home. Hunter has Lily the bear shifter as a prisoner in his basement of his home. She was accused of harassing and trying go after Selene. Meanwhile Christian, Hunter’s beta is trying to overthrow him as Alpha. Lily and her human Kingsley over hear Christian and Hunters ex wife Ebony talking about the take over. Finally when they go to take a vote on what is going on Kingsley and Lili plus Jessica shows that Ebony and Christian and their conversation. Twists, turns, deceit, and claiming.

I think this has been my favorite of the series so far. I love a good MMF and the PNR aspect makes it even better. I’m loving the havoc the babies are creating and look forward to what happens next in the series.
