From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Carrie Ann Ryan comes a new story in her Montgomery Ink series… The Montgomery Ink series continues with the long-awaited romance between the café owner next door and the tattoo artist who’s loved her from afar.Hailey Monroe knows the world isn’t always fair, but she’s picked herself up from the ashes once before and if she needs to, she’ll do … needs to, she’ll do it again. It’s been years since she first spotted the tattoo artist with a scowl that made her heart skip a beat, but now she’s finally gained the courage to approach him. Only it won’t be about what their future could bring, but how to finish healing the scars from her past.
Sloane Gordon lived through the worst kinds of hell yet the temptation next door sends him to another level. He’s kept his distance because he knows what kind of man he is versus what kind of man Hailey needs. When she comes to him with a proposition that sends his mind whirling and his soul shattering, he’ll do everything in his power to protect the woman he cares for and the secrets he’s been forced to keep.
Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you’ll enjoy each one as much as we do.

This was a very emotional story and I feel for Hailey and Sloan and all their struggles to finally find their happiness.
No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
Good dialogues
Sloan approach Hailey and her physical scars and Hailey got trough to Sloan and his mental scars. I love how they heal each other.
5 stars for a story that made me cry.
Another OK read. A fast paced novella. The narration was ok.
I liked Hailey. She was strong, and managed to stay that way through the book. She had a couple of moments of doubt or hesitancy, but that didn’t stop her from standing her ground or cause the old “I’m not good enough” angst.
That was all Sloane’s department. I got that he suffered from PTSD. It was starting to rear its ugly head again, but he didn’t DO anything about it. I didn’t hear him mention going back to counseling, or talking to anyone. I didn’t like Sloane.
I don’t understand why the characters in the Montgomery Ink series have all these secrets they don’t want to share, but their secrets affect so many people.
I give this novella 3.5 stars because of Hailey.
Yes to Hidden Ink Sloane and Hailey have a very painful past. I felt the author did a great job with both couples past but I wished we would of got more of them coming together in their relationship. I would of loved to see more of how their love grew and how they helped eachother with their demons. Overall short sexy story. Happy Reading!!
THIS SERIES OF BOOKS ARE GREAT ENTERTAINMENT! THO TOO SHORT FOR LAZING THE DAY AWAY. I LOVE EM AND CAN READ 2 AND MORE IN ONE SETTING!
Great characters and lots of romantic heat!
I love this book, it is one of my favorites of the series
I love all the Montgomery ink series. I love all her books.
I have been waiting for this story it seems like forever! I just knew it would be one of those hard ones for Carrie Anne Ryan to write and even harder for us readers to read. I was so right. Make sure you have your box of Kleenex handy when you settle down to read Hailey and Sloane’s story. Please note this is a novella so it is not a LONG story but it is packed with so much emotion that it feels like a full size novel vs a novella.
If you have not read any of the other Montgomery Ink books you will be fine jumping in a reading this book but I have to tell ya, you are missing out on a great series of books from an amazing author. Grab them and get to know this family by blood and friendships. Hailey owns the Taboo, a cafe and bakery that shares a wall and door with Montgomery Ink where Sloane works. Those two have been circling each other for a long time. It is time they landed or flew away. Both are strong souls who have survived so much…. And we finally get to find out what and IF they land together or apart.
Hidden Ink IS my favorite Carrie Ann Ryan book of all times. I invite you to find out why I would give it 10 stars if there was a way to do so. It touches on so many things that we see every day in our lives and this books is just so moving.
Sorry I can not say more without giving the story away. You simply need to read this one folks.
