First off, story/plot is really good, I am so invested its not even funny haha. I had to stop myself from devouring all the audiobooks because only 5 are out now and there have been delays for the last 2 until close to the end of the year. So I am going to slowly listen to books 3-5 after listening nonstop to books 1 and 2.
I am loving getting to see more of the guys’ personalities come out, getting to know Nix’s phoenix side more, and the growth and sexiness Nix and her men start to scratch the surface with (loved the group time – its still a slow to medium burn but this was ). The whole council thing is already bugging me and I hope they get what’s coming to them. I want to know how this group is hopefully going to unseat them because I am done with this antiquated thinking and treatment of women. Ok, I will get off the soapbox now haha. I am sick of a certain kitsune and her dad thinking the guys are hers, like duuuuuude thats old news and never true. These are Nix’s loves through and through, even if the council makes her the most eligible shifter on the planet. I hate the class system that this book is emphasizing, but it makes for a great plot. Loved the fun times within the group, the competitive board games, jokes, quick quips at each other haha. Made for a good contrast between the super serious moments and these lighthearted moments. Theo really came through for me in this one, despite how oblivious he was with his word choices and slow on the uptake moments (like with Kill and a certain time of the month haha). Easily 5/5 stars from me for the story, cannot wait to get to the next part of this series.
Audio I think was a little better in book 2 but still detracting me from the story. Heather Costa is excruciating when trying to a Scottish accent. I usually am more refined with my comments, but she should just stop trying. I did notice she removed his accent sometimes, which was way better than trying to sound Scottish and turning out more Russian. She also swapped some of the Aussies to Brits but that one wasn’t as egregious as Kill’s rendition. Great job by Brandon, he is the saving grace for the audio book. 5/5 for Brandon, 2-3 stars for Heather.
Everything is getting better, the guys know what’s going on and Nix is really starting to do better. The Council is ominous and I hope they get taken down!
Nix is a real basses and I love when a heroine who has a past like hers can still keep her head up , be strong and kick ass. I love all the guys , they are great characters. The second book does start to get steamy , it is ridiculously hot. You will love this series.
Since book 3 is finally out, I’m rereading books 1 and 2, and I love them all over again. You get so invested in these characters, and that also means getting upset with them on their behalf. You feel for Nix that she’s gone from one world of being controlled and is now on the brink of belonging to another, when all she wants is her life to be her own with the family of her choosing. You want to keep going because you know she’s the kind of character that will fight for what she wants and is going to get it. And don’t get me started about her and the guys. I can completely understand her frustration from the end of the book. Slow burns can be a killer.
I don’t honestly know how to put my love for this book in to words. This book shows the true struggles of having to learn to trust again. The guys are so thoughtful and considerate that you can’t help but to love them. I feel like I’m watching a movie when I read this
It was great to see these characters continue to grew together. Nix is amazing and her guys are great too! I can’t wait to see what happens next!
The ups and downs in this book are everywhere throughout. Nix is going through a lot, but her bond with the guys is getting stronger and makes her feel stronger in herself. This book made me laugh, cry fan myself through the steamy sexual tension and cheer for this amazing group of characters. This was a great read and second book in this series, these characters are so well written that I almost forgot they were fictional! Can’t wait for book three.
Supernatural. Rh. 5 mythical guys. Strong, Clever, beautiful, Phoenix shifter heroine. This time the story focuses on Nix’s and the guys relationship and her position\duty in the shifter community. Loved it.
Another amazing book in an already amazing series! I must gush about how gorgeous the cover is for this book! Absolutely breathtaking, just like the first book.
I’m definitely intrigued and excited about what’s gonna happen in the next book. I’m a little surprised by how sexy I found this book to be even though there wasn’t one sex scene. They are definitely building up to that though and once the get to that point, it’ll be explosive!
These book MUST be read in order or you’ll be lost. This book does end on a cliffhanger in my opinion. But again, surprisingly, that didn’t take away from my enjoyment of the book. I already know it’ll be worth the wait!
Nix is awesome. I like that she is becoming more confident and that the guys really are there for her. I liked seeing her have fun with the guys and Rini. I can’t wait to see where this series goes and how the relationships continue to develop.
