Book was a little too course for me.
An attempt to channel Chandler in a fantasy (Egyption gods) genre.
I very much liked to premise, but wish more time had been devoted to doing some worldbuilding and back story. The ending seemed a bit rushed and it disappointed me. All in all, worth the time, and I’ll explore the series further.
a good read
Can’t put it down
Beware..Made me cry at the end.
As a young child, I always enjoyed the stories of the the Gods. This paints them in a very different picture – intriguing!
Fantastic story! Very informative and detailed while still being engaging and entertaining. Look forward to more in this series.
Immediately purchased the next in series… Commanding plot!
I would not say “wonderful” characters. Good characters, well-drawn and engaging, and quite interesting in the context of the story. Wonderful is the wrong word to apply to characters in general, though. Enjoyable story, and easy to read which I prefer for relaxation after a day spent in front of a computer.
Did not hold my attention I did not finish the book.
The only negative I have for this series is how short each book is. Normally I won’t
Pick a book under 300 pages. But I’m glad I took a chance!
Interesting characters and storyline. I’ll probably continue reading this series.
Really liked, bought rest of series
I love this series .. totally sucked into Aces’s world and can’t wait to see how it all turns out !
If you like the movie Sin City then you’ll like this story and author.
I read the Veil series by this author so thought I’d try this book and if just didn’t have the same hook. Fell flat and I don’t think I’ll read anymore in the series.
Hidden Blade (Book 1: Soul Eater series) by Poppa DaCosta
Oh my … I do love some Gods, Goddesses, myths & legends … and this book delivers!
You want to love & hate Ace, you feel for him and everyone he interacts with. You hope he can find a permanent solutions to the issues that plague him!
Quick, each fun to read urban about Egyptian gods in modern times NY
This book was really different. There were parts I really liked and then there was parts that left me grimacing over the actions. I will read more in the series. The story was short of twists and turns and was rather short in some of the background development. The ideas were original and the main character is very interesting.
