Control the dragons. Rule the realm.
The mystery enshrouding Hutton’s Bridge is as impenetrable as the fog that descended at its borders eighty years ago. Each year, three villagers enter the mist searching for answers. No one ever returns.
Then a dragon falls from the sky to the town square, dead — the first glimpse of an outside world that has become nothing more than a fairy tale to … more than a fairy tale to Hutton’s Bridge. Except to Tressa.
Tressa grew up with Granna’s stories of the days before the fog fell. When Granna dies, leaving Tressa without any family, Tressa ventures into the fog herself, vowing to unravel the foul magic holding Hutton’s Bridge captive.
What she discovers beyond the fog endangers the lives of everyone she loves.

I stopped reading after they killed the sweet, magical owl. Not for me.
Dragons, can never get enough of them.
The living conditions put people’s true character to the test. Such close living makes it hard to hid their true colors. The characters are vindictive, revengeful, heroic and brave. I love ’em and hate ’em.
What is the fog? Is it treacherous, benign, hiding something? What happens to those who go into the …
Perhaps since this book is first in a series there are so many things to set up the book has a jumbled feel. However, the people are likewise going through the motions without ant Emotion. I finally had to concede defeat and quite reading.
Not bad but not for me it did not hold my interest
I loved this book! It is a very neat world and love the adventure. Can’t wait to read more
This was a fun, interesting, easy to read series. I was fully in the world(s) she created.
The series started out okay but never really picked up much from there. It just wasn’t my cup of tea.
Ehh.
Fantastic book, great characters, phenomenal story. Recommend highly
This was unexpectedly good. I had a hard time in putting it down. It was a page turner that is for sure. I had all three books read in less then a week.
Slow and uninteresting
Great series
Great read! Fun, wish they offered the next book!
For a YA there was way too much sex in this book. Very disappointing.
Lots of twists and turns.
This was a fun read, full of heroes and villains. Mystical creatures balanced by characters that embody all of what it is to be a human being faced by difficult realities. It left me with questions and eager to read the rest of the series.
I liked this author. She writes tastefully.
This book started off a little slow but once I got into the book I couldn’t put it down. Jarrett and Tressa are my favorite characters.
I think even within the genre of fiction/supernatural/paranormal, there should be a level of believability. If something unusual happens, there should be a good explanation. This story line has holes that anyone with a brain would question. I read it to the end, but kept questioning why I continued. I will not invest time in part 2.
Having said …
I loved this book and the complete series. Great book for wanting to fantasy world of dragons and riders.
