New Standalone from New York Times Bestselling Author, Kaylee RyanI’m over this year, and I’m over relationships. I’ve learned that the only person you can count on in life is yourself. Moving forward, I’m living for me. Working toward standing on my own two feet, that’s my goal. Funny how meeting him changed my path. It’s been years since I’ve been back in this small town of West Virginia for … town of West Virginia for more than a day or two. Spending time here brings back a lot of fond memories. When I stopped by an old friend’s bar, I was expecting to grab a drink and catch up. What I didn’t expect was her.
We share an undeniable attraction, but we continue to fight it.
Until one night in Vegas changes everything.

Kaylee blew me away with this one. I laughed, cried and oh my god wanted to hug Saylor so many different times during this book. This was amazingly written. I absolutely loved it from the beginning to the end. I can say that I absolutely hated Peter. Oh my god I wanted to kick him so hard right where it hurts the most. But so extremely happy that Saylor found Molly and Jake. I absolutely loved that they gave her the chance and friendship that she needed right from the beginning. I just absolutely loved Saylor. She was a very well written amazing character. So strong after everything that she had been there. I absolutely loved the banter between Saylor and Rhett. But seriously come on how could you not love Rhett? He is absolutely yummy. His grandfather is a hoot. I absolutely loved all the characters in this book. Kaylee did an amazing job with this one. Highly recommend reading this one
Saylor loses her mother and her fiancé within weeks. Saylor comes home from moving everything out of her moms house to have her fiancé tell her that he’s engaged and having a baby with someone else. She feels alone until she steps into local bar and instantly finds 2 new friends. They even let her rent apartment from them cheap and give her a job. Then enters Rhett an heir to a brewery that’s well known and the ladies normally are attracted to him because of how famous company is. When grandfather becomes sick, he has to go run whiskey side of company. His best friend owns a bar so he goes to see him but he’s not there. In his place, a short, opinionated, beautiful woman but when she calls him whiskey, he’s afraid she knows. Neither of them understand connection until they all get together. Will they both ignore attraction or will they allow themselves to be happy? Saylor doesn’t feel like she has anything to offer, can Rhett change her mind? I seriously loved this book and can’t wait to read more from this author!
Life just wouldn’t give Saylor a break. Being orphan at a very young age , then bouncing from house to house immigrated care. To say her life was unstable is an understatement, till one day she was taken in by a sweet lady that made sure she didn’t hurt anymore. Fast forward to years later when she has to say goodbye to her savior, she feels alone, not even her boyfriend can make her feel whole, because he did the ultimate betrayal to her. Needing to start over, her path lead her to The Corner Pocket Bar. Rhett hates that he hasn’t been around his Grandfather in years, with that their relationship is strained. Here he is trying to repair it and help the family business while his Grandfather is sick. What Rhett never thought was the night he stepped inside his childhood friends Bar he would see the one woman that took his breath away and was sassy at the same time ( what a turn on it is it ). These two meet unexpectedly and the banter between them sparks feelings they didn’t think they wanted.. Saylor fights it but Rhett is determined to show her that no matter what she has been through it the lack of family that she deserves happiness and he is the he man for the job. The chemistry between these two is off the charts, it will keep you reading till the end. Everyone deserves a Happy Ever After.
5 Controlling Your Own Future Stars!!!
Oh how I loved Saylor and Rhett!!! Talk about two people that need a forever love. Little did either of them know when they both got to town their paths would be crossing and in more than one way. Rhett’s there to help his granddad recovering from being sick and Saylor is there, well, because her life changed on a dime and the man she thought loved her stuck it to her in the worst way possible.
Talk about being in the right place at the right time. As soon as they see each other, there’s a pull there that can only be denied for so long. As Saylor is getting over her ended relationship she builds a new life for herself thanks to Jake, Molly and oh yes Rhett….it seem they’re destined to be in each other’s lives no matter what they want.
For Rhett, he’s trying to repair the relationship he has with his grandfather and in the meantime, he’s getting a lesson that not everyone wants something from him and there truly are people that will love him for him and not what he can bring to the table. Enter Saylor and her reticence to give in to her attraction to Rhett. She’s been hurt in so many ways in the past and really only has herself to rely on and finding love again is not on the top of her list.
I loved these two together. At times they’re playful and snarky and then can be sinfully sexy together while they explore what is obviously an attraction that can’t be denied. All of this is not on their own though and there are some outside sources that have a pivotal role in bringing them together.
The more I read, the more I loved our H/h. Ms. Ryan has a way with her words that captures my heart and draws me hook, line and sinker into her stories. I become so invested in the characters and the story that it’s hard for me to say goodbye to them once I’ve turned the last page. Hey, Whiskey is no different and when it ended my heart was full of love and joy for the two people that found their forever love.
I Truly loved every second of this book! I couldn’t put it down to the point I read till 4 or 5 in the morning! I loved Saylor & Rhett’s adorable nicknames they gave each other; Whiskey & Short Stack! Saylor is someone who had very little in her life, yet is strong! I admire her for moving forward with her life no matter what it threw her way! I dragged out the ending because I wasn’t ready to finish it! This is the first of many favorites 2018 has brought! People such as Molly. Jake, Rhett & his family are truly one of a kind! They’re good, kind-hearted, loving people! #HeyWhiskey #ShortStack #SaylorandRhett #JakeandMolly
Coming back to West Virginia to help his ailing grandfather, Rhett thinks that his trip will only last a few days but that all changes the minute he sees Saylor behind the bar at the local pub. If things could go wrong in life then they definitely have happened to Saylor, so when she is apprehensive to the charming man at the bar will her walls she has erected be enough? Or will the chance encounter between Rhett and Saylor happen at the perfect time? The reader cannot help but feel the need to give these characters a hug. When the baggage from the past is finally taken out of the picture the relationship just flourishes. And you could not get any better minor characters than Molly and Jake.
Rhett and Saylor!! I loved this book so much. Saylor has given up on the male population, and for good reason, so when she meets Rhett and has instant chemistry obviously she tries to ignore it why risk your heart getting broken again. Rhett is just back in town to help his grandpa he is not trying to get a girlfriend. I loved seeing these two slowly fall in love while trying to deny it.
Kaylee always does a great job of developing secondary characters and Hey Whiskey is no different, Grandpa Rhett, Molly and Jack are all great additions to the story.
Kaylee is one of my favorite authors and this is probably my favorite of all her books. Seriously such a great read!!
Loved this book by Kaylee Ryan!
Saylor has not had an easy go of things in her life. When things suddenly change and she finds herself having to start over, Say has no idea how her life will change.
Rhett is there to help his grandfather with the business even if he doesn’t want him there. When he discovers the sassy mouth bartender he has no clue what is in store.
These two are forced to hang out by their friends and the sparks fly. Will things heat up or fizzle out? Will Say be able to choose love?
This was a great book. So glad I was able to read this on KU!
Kaylee always has such strong character development, primary and secondary as well. This is a heartwarming story filled with family and friendship. I loved it. <3
Another fabulous read from Kaylee Ryan.
Whenever I think I have a favourite book picked out by this author, she comes back with yet another book that blows me away. Hey, Whiskey is certainly no exception.
This book not only had a unique and intriguing plot line, but also characters that will instantly steal the hearts of readers everywhere. Each and every character is true to themselves, and confident in ways that may not be obvious in every day lives. When you throw in the attraction they share, fireworks will go off.
I urge everyone to go and read this book for yourselves today. You will become consumed with Kaylee’s writing.
4.5/5 Stars!
This cover just called to me, I know tje saying don’t judge a book by the cover but I read this book sinply because of this cover… and what did I think of the story? I. LOVED. IT. it was a book that I couldn’t put down, the story was a great mix of romance, sad and funny. It had it all and I loved it so much.
Kaylee Ryan is one of my go to authors i love all the stories that i have read of hers so far, i love that when you read one of your books i can cuddle up to my doona and between this and her story you feel like you are getting a great big warm hug.
Hey, Whiskey is an absolutely fantastic story and you won’t be disappointed if you read this. I loved everything about it, i loved all the back stories and all the side characters. I loved Molly and Jake they were so good to Saylor and i loved the relationships built throughout this book.
Rhett i thought at the beginning was going to annoy me but after only a few pages in i fell in love, he was super sweet, funny and i could swoon over him for the rest of my life he was just ohh sexy and smart god who wouldn’t want a Rhett in there life i tell you.
Saylor is beautiful and with her past i felt everytime she was feeling sad i was sad with her and everytime someone made her happy i felt happy i really felt i was side by side walking with her in her journey and that’s thanks to the author and her fantastic writing.
I loved absolutely everything about this story, it was fun, hopeful, sad and beautiful i loved every minute of it to the point i didn’t want it to end and stayed in bed and read it in one sitting.
Loved loved loved it, 5 super special Stars for this beautiful book. If you haven’t bought this book do it now and if you are new to Kaylee Ryan you need to pick up one of her books you won’t be disappointed.
Saylor has been through a lot and despite all of that is manages to remain strong, beautiful and sassy. How can you not adore that? Rhett felt the same when he first ran into her. I love how he never gave up when it came to getting her attention.
There was a connection between the two and Saylor wanted nothing to do with it it. Their jabs at one another were hilarious and the slow burn into the realization that Rhett isn’t a horrible man, that he he could truly be someone for her to love and feel safe with was great. It was a fun, emotional ride to experience with both characters.
Jake, Molly and Grandpa Rhett were also amazing supporting characters. Molly is truly an amazing human being for helping out someone she just met when Saylor showed up. Everyone deserves a person like that in their lives!
I’ve also made Saylor’s no bake cookies many times and they are always a hit! Thank you Kaylee for including the recipe in the book!
Saylor is a lonely girl, that has no one to lean on, no one she can count on. A product of the foster care system, she has learned that she can only depend on herself. Circumstances lead to her being in a small town, once again, all alone.
Rhett, on the other hand, is the product of a loving, supportive family. He has always known what he wants from life, and is determined enough to make it happen. Circumstances lead him back to the small town his family is originally from, visiting with his ailing grandfather.
I loved how determined Rhett is, how once he set his mind on a goal he never let himself stray from that goal. I love how supportive of Saylor that he is. I also love how supportive and open and accepting the other characters are of Saylor. The underlying theme of “Family is what you make it”, runs strong throughout the book. It’s amazing, and really makes you think about those that you surround yourself with.
As with all of Kaylee Ryan’s books, this story brought out the feels! I was doing really well, kept my composure, until the prologue. Then, cue the water works. Not to say that the entire book wasn’t emotional, because it was, but that one scene…….Yeah, I just couldn’t hold back.
From beginning to end, this book is amazing. You don’t know what to expect next, and there are lots of moments of “I totally didn’t see that coming”! Its a fun book, well written, and exactly what we’ve all come to expect from a Kaylee Ryan story!
What a fantastic story! Whiskey and Short Stack are such a great couple!
Saylor has been through a lot in her life and so much recently. Her ex is a true douche, and that is putting it mildly. Her best friend turns out to only be there when it suits her needs. And she just sold the only home she has ever known. Finally, she is without a job because she was supposed to be working for the ex. Yeah, everything fell apart, but she is determined to push through and not be taken in by another jerk.
Rhett has come to town to help his Gramps run his company while he is recovering from illness only to discover that both Gramps and the company are worse off than he had originally thought. Not to mention the tension between the two men because this once close relationship has been neglected for years. Rhett is determined to repair both the company and his relationship with his Gramps before he returns home.
When these two first meet there is true chemistry, but they Saylor is determined to fight it. These two have a connection and common friends who keep pulling them together. Then things change while on a trip to Vegas and our Hero and heroine learn that what happens in Vegas doesn’t necessarily stay in Vegas.
Pick up this book to find out what happens!
I can’t wait to see what Kaycee comes up with next!

I have been on the edge of my seat waiting for this book. The early reviews and blogs have praised it so much. Let me just say, the wait w a s worth it. I love Whiskey. Short Stack aka Saylor is sassy and stubborn and has built a ton of concrete walls around herself. Whiskey aka Rhett the third, goes to work to break that concrete. He has is work cut out for him. Love the character and their banter. Love the story line.
I recently discovered Kaylee Ryan and am already a huge fan. I am finding her stories to be sweet and charming and I just love getting lost in them. In Hey, Whiskey we get a slow burn romance that pulls you right in.
Saylor’s life has not been an easy one. She is not in a good place right now after being hurt by her ex and losing the only family she ever had. But she is determined to start over and is so done with relationships right now. The last thing she expects is to have Rhett walk into her life!
I loved Rhett! He was strong, determined and a bit cocky, but also sweet, sexy and fun. Rhett returns to help his grandfather when he needs him. What he never expected is Saylor and her affect to him!
Rhett and Saylor have this undeniable chemistry. It literally drips from the pages every time they were together, but Saylor is not one to trust easily. Instead they become friends and get to know each other. But chemistry that strong can never truly be denied! When a trip to Vegas changes everything, can they finally find love?
I absolutely loved getting lost in this story. It was sweet, funny and steamy slow burn romance. I loved watching these two come together and see how everything changes between them! I loved their banter and the secondary characters so much Overall such a sweet and charming story.
4.5 stars! Happy reading!
Omg Kaylee I loved this book! I couldn’t put it down and was up half the night reading. Rhett ( would love to find a guy like him! 🙂 ) And Saylor are definitely made for each other. She has been thru so much in her life but is still a strong woman with a sassy mouth that can hold her own with his smart mouth. But they both showed when they love, they love with everything they have!

Wow what a story! This was my first read of this year and it was a great choice. A couple books later and I am still thinking about Saylor and Rhett.
Saylor goes through the loss of the only mom she really knew, gets dumped by a loser (totally his loss) and has walls built up to protect her. She is a strong character that has her weak moments. She is one of my all time favorite characters! I loved her!!
Rhett comes to town to help out his ill grandfather, He realizes he shouldn’t have stayed away so long and works on getting gramps to forgive him for not being there. He finds other reasons to stay.
The chemistry bewteen Rhett and Saylor is great! I loved the first meeting, I love that Rhett kept working to break down the walls Saylor has up. The secondary characters are awesome and I would love to get their story!
Thank you Kaylee Ryan for another amazing read! I highly recommend this story. One Click this when it releases!
