I’m back home with an NFL career as busted as my knee.
My plans were dashed with one injury, but the moment I see Myra I think she might be my cure.
She’s a Southern girl who knows how to cook and I’ve got a hankering for some comfort food.

After a career ending injury, Major just want to keep things simple and low key. Myra wanting to start a new life, found her way to Major’s hometown.
I love Major’s character, he is not the typical wild athlete, he is grounded and has a big heart. Myra is strong and cautious as shed has burned before has a hard time. Their relationship is fresh, simple and love at first sight. Their expectations are beautiful and simple.
This is another great addition to the series.

A Georgian Southern Peach scores the game winning touchdown of his heart
HEY SWEET TEA is the eighth book in The Way To A Man’s Heart series and this one is definitely sweet, but also tart and spicy!!!
At the age of twenty-six Major Owens has moved back to his home town after suffering a career ending injury in the NFL. So he is licking his wounds and trying to adjust to his new reality, as the NFL was his dream and his focus. He was raised by his Grandma Trudy and has moved back in with her while he tries to figure things out.
Myra is a Georgia peach who has moved out west because she needed a fresh start. It seems her ex was abusive and when she finally broke free she knew she needed to go somewhere else. So what is a girl to do but pull out a map of the USA and with your eyes closed let your finger to the picking. She has rented a lovely little cottage, gotten a job at the Grady’s Garden Shop and made some friends already.
One day Major stops in at Grady’s and starts wandering the aisles as Grady is not there. He hears a Southern drawl as him if she can be help him and when he turns around he sees a beautiful curvy young woman in front of him who obviously does not know who he is. She helps him find flowers for his grandma, peach colored roses. Before he leaves he asks if he can take her out but she turns him down. Myra feels the electricity between her and Major but she thinks with his “all-American good looks, a charming smile and drool-worthy-eyes…tall, and solid muscle, pure panty-melting perfection.” that he is a heartbreaker. She is not about to get her heart broken again thank you very much.
Major is not about to give up and the next day when he sees Grady at cross-fit they grab a beer afterwards. He asks about Myra but Grady is not sure about her boyfriend status. However, just before Grady leaves he texts Major her phone number. Major is not about to let this opportunity go and immediately phones her. Lucky for him she is in the middle of cooking dinner and is need of some milk. Major decides to play delivery boy with his payment being dinner. Myra has cooked up some of her Grandma Maylene’s favorite southern recipes – fried chicken, flaky biscuits, macaroni, green beans and of course sweet tea. As they say the way to a mans heart is through his stomach and before they even finish eating clothes are coming off and they are doing some cooking in the bedroom.
This is a very sweet, romantic, OTT, beautiful short story that makes your mouth water in a lot of different ways. I enjoyed this book and it put a big smile on my face. A definite recommendation for some happy reading!!!
I liked this short punny story. It was an entertaining and enjoyable instalove romance story. The characters were interesting.
Major has just moved back to his hometown after a broken knee ended his NFL career. He loved playing football and with one injury he feels like he lost everything. Major runs into Myra and thinks that she may just be his “one”. She knows how to cook some good Southern comfort food that he wouldn’t mind tasting, but she’s got a past that makes her wary. Myra is just the sweet-tea that Major needs.
The tea puns are hilarious! Major was all-in immediately which was sweet but I understand why Myra was skittish. I thought that their dinner was romantic. Grandma Trudy was cute too. I loved their happy ever after. I recommend reading this book.

Not my favorite of the series. This one felt rushed and I had trouble connecting with the characters. There was a cute happily ever after though.
***I decided to review an ARC of this book.***
Book 8 in The Way to a Man’s Heart series and it was a fun read. Loved Major and Myra. They both were dealing with some issues that left them hurt and they wanted to get away from it all. Major after getting injured and it causing the end to his football career. When he is in Grady’s Garden Shop where he meets Myra she helps him gets some roses for his grandmother and he asks her out. She moved there recently after a bad break up so she’s after a fresh start and says no to him. Even after being rejected he can’t stop thinking about her. When he runs into his friend Grady later he asks for her info and then calls her and ends up with an invite to dinner if he’ll bring her some milk. Sparks fly between them as she finishes cooking. They chat as they eat and get to know one another better. Soon things heat up between them. However when Major has a chance to go back to his dream job will he leave Myra behind? Will Myra let him go? Can they be together with him working?
This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This a lovely insta love story. Like the saying the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. Then the sweet curvy Myra just won her man. The thing is she isn’t aware he’s set his teeth on her curves. A wonderful read.
