A storm is brewing and so is a budding romance. I’ve been told I’m a force to be reckoned with. That I blow onto the scene like a tornado. I’ve stopped caring if that’s a compliment or a dig. Now I just wear it like a badge of honor. So when life threw me a curveball and I ended up going from a cushy job in New York City to the tiny Southern town of Grimm Cove, I thought I was ready for anything. Grimm Cove, I thought I was ready for anything.
Ha! Not quite.
You see, Grimm Cove is teeming with supernaturals. And since I’ve known they exist for a hot minute, I’m still in a state of total shock. When I learn that I come from a long line of witches and demon slayers, the stakes (pun intended) get even higher and sharper.
These monsters aren’t make-believe. They’re out for blood.
I’m trying to decide if having the alpha of the local wolf-shifter pack nipping at my heels is an asset in this fight, or if he’s one more person I need to watch my back around. I just wish he wasn’t so sexy and didn’t smell so good. He’d be a lot easier to resist. I have enough going on in my life as it is. I really do not have time for all this fated mate crap everyone keeps telling me about. My head and heart are at war and now isn’t the time for distractions, especially since it’s painfully clear that something evil wants me dead.

Mandy does a great job creating an enjoyable story and characters.
As the second in the series it’s a fun read. Liked the first one better but worth the time!
Returning to Grimm Cove for Hexing with a Chance of Tornadoes, Dana’s, and Jeffrey’s story, was an absolute delight. To say I’m loving the Paranormal Women’s Fiction genre is an understatement, and this series is one of the main reasons for that enjoyment.
I enjoyed the little bit of background of Dana and her Nonna we get at first while she was still in New York, it helped solidify and maybe explain their relationship – and perhaps set us up for what will come later. So, yeah, I adored Wilma (Nonna) and would want her on my side in any fight ‘cos she’s dangerous in a unique way.
Dana is… well, stubborn is really too soft of a word for this power lady. She knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to kick butt and take names in order to get it. Yet, in Hexing with a Chance of Tornadoes we get to see the depth and layers of Dana emerge as her life is about to get crazy and intriguing.
Jeffrey is the local bar owner, the Alpha of the town’s wolf pack, and very much at ease with the fact he hasn’t yet found his mate. Not happy, but not obsessing about it either. With the arrival of his best friend’s mate along with her friends and the troubles they’ve stirred up, his life has gotten a lot more active. There’s just something about Dana that draws him, even though she’ll shoot down any flirt he tosses out with ease, he just won’t or can’t give up trying. Jeffrey and Dana are about to find out why they are drawn together right in the middle of one dangerous, evil storm of trouble brewing in Grimm Cove.
While I don’t give out plot details I will say that this one kept me glued to my Kindle throughout. There are twists and turns, I expect those. But there are also some major surprises as well. So I was kept a bit off-kilter during this story and that only added to the enjoyment factor. Poppy, Dana, and Marcy are really starting to come into their own in this story – and Marcy’s is probably going to be an explosion of awesomeness because she is such a unique character. I had a blast with Hexing with at Chance of Tornadoes. I got annoyed at characters, belly laughed (maybe even snort-giggled), was held tightly in this world until the very ending.
If you love a good Paranormal with some romance tossed in, unique characters and a story to keep you fully engaged, then you’ll want to pick up this story and series very soon… like right now.
I own a Kindle edition of this story.
I LOVED this book.
Dana and Jefferey are a perfect pair. I love their humor, snark and chemistry.
Dana comes with her friend Poppy to Grimm Cove and is confronted with the reality that there are paranormal and supernatural entities out there. As she comes to accept this she is also introduced to the one man who may be able to make her think of more than quick, jump and bed and done relationship. Jefferey is a ladies man who has finally found the ONE lady who can bring him to heel. As a wolf-shifter this couldn’t be more perfect.
But Dana is also beginning to realize there is more to HER than meets the eye too. But how could that be, she’s just ordinary, Dana the Attorney. Sure she heals a little faster and can kick butt and defeat enemies bigger and to all appearances, “stronger” than her. Think Vampires, ghouls, witches and wolves and you’ll begin to understand the residents of Grimm Cove.
But, someone is after Dana. Are they friend or foe or both. I loved this book. I was unsure it would be my cup of tea but with it being written by Mandy Roth, I should have known it would Rock. Humor, mystery, action and a little heat all made for perfection. Can’t wait for the next one.
Dana, Marcy, and Poppy are back and Grimm Cove will never be the same…lol It will be better than ever especially after Dana kicks butt or maybe she’ll be kicking mutt… lol
Jeffrey is the Alpha, but behind every Alpha is an absolutely kick-ass mate who they will love, cherish and of course, obey always… lol
Mind you Jeffrey is never finding his mate, nope never going to happen… It’s funny how things change when Dan hits Grimm Cove with Poppy I mean seriously it took Brett all of 5 seconds to fall on his knees in front of Poppy and beg her to be his forever…lol Jeffrey is going down and hard…
I am really loving this series two books down and I can only hope many more to come, the world-building in just the first two books has opened me up to a butt load of future plots and the characters are all amazing I can’t wait for more this town, the setting, all the different supernatural they al just blend together even more with each book.
A really enjoyable story.
Fair warning: you do not want to be disturbed while reading this one. I love the wit, charm and romance in this book. I love the chemistry between Dana and Jeffery. I laughed at Jeffery trying to tame Dana’s feistiness. I truly wish I had the right words to explain how much I love this series. The cast is amazing, the plot fabulous and Nonna outshines them all. I highly recommend this book and cannot wait for the next.
Dana has moved to Grimm Cove to be nearer her besties. She never expected one of said Besties to get married, like 2 days after they arrived! But never one to rest on her laurels, Dana is looking forward to new adventures in small town life. A certain tall, strong, Alpha wolf may also be giving her something to think about. She is usually a one and done kinda girl but the longer she resists Jeffrey’s charm, the more she realises that he may be more than an itch for her to scratch!
Jeffrey is used to getting what he wanted and rarely gets old “No”. But that seems to be Dana’s favourite word where he is concerned! But will he be quite as bold and brazen once he realises that she is a long lost relative of his most hated slayer nemesis!?!?
Living with ghostly Seniors, newly mated Wolf/Witch couples, a completely barmy wannabe witch and associating with a cracked bunch of supernaturals. Dana is more than ready to flee back to the big, bad Big Apple! I loved finding out all her back history and why she is just to ballsy – with a granny like hers, she couldn’t turn out any other way! The arrival of the Seniors Posse – holy heck I burst out laughing – LOUDLY!
Dana is one of my favorite characters in this series. I enjoyed finding out more about her and watching her evolve. I cannot wait for the next book.
Another great addition to the Grimm Cove series. Book 2 is Jeffrey and Dana’s story. Filled with magic, mayhem , supernatural hijinks, great humor, hunky alphas and sassy heroines. The chemistry is fantastic and the plot great! I really enjoyed the cast of characters and the enthralling paranormal/supernatural action . I can’t wait for book 3.
My Rating: 4.4 stars ********
Awesome read! The chemistry between these characters was so entertaining. There were so many moments I had to grin at the goings on. “Stuff the cannoli” was just the start. How could I not laugh at “tree-rat” or “va-nay-jay” ??? I need a Nonna in my life! I loved this book! I received an advanced copy of this book and freely leave this honest review.
Grimm Cove, South Carolina a town that seems to have more supernatural residents than human. The trio of powerful ladies are back!
If you have been following along then you will love this book. If you have not read the first book in this series then what are you waiting for? This series is awesome! So nice to have all the main characters past the young age, makes us older women smile.
Last book was about Poppy and Brett, this time it is about Dana and Jefferey. Two hard headed people who explode together. There is more to Dana than everyone thought, more than she ever dreamed she could be.
If you like strong Alphas and the women who bring them to their knees then this Author is the one for you.
I don’t like to write spoilers so I will just say curl up in your comfy spot and enjoy the ride!
I can not wait for Marcy’s turn, I just know it will be great.
Fly with the wind
What an amazing second story in this series! The author had me completely enthralled from the first page. She took the characters I loved from the first book and embellished and enhanced everything about them. I love that Dana didn’t lose any of her snark when she was connecting with her mate while wearing the bits of her enemy. This book is full of so many surprises and was that a little bit of a love connection there at the end? I really hope the author keeps this series going. I need to know what Stratton is and if he finds his mate, and Marcy needs to find someone who will love her quirkiness, and what about Jeffery’s sister. The author could keep this series going on forever and I would never get bored. I can’t wait to read the next book to see how she tops this one.
