Legs (One Wild Wish #1) was a sophisticated sexy novel that held my interest until the very end. I really enjoyed this story. Jimmy and Rachel met and were instantly attracted to each other. While they both seemed like polar opposites they had more in common than either of them realized. They were both smart, sexy and a little bit bad. I loved their banter, it had me amused throughout the novel.
I loved that this story was centered around wine and viticulture and I learned quite a bit reading this novel most especially how the title was relevant to the story.
Apart from romance, this novel gave us a bit mysticism, a little suspense, some family drama, friendship, complex developed characters and an interesting storyline which all came together to give us a fascinating read.
Legs was an engaging page-turner and I would highly recommend it.
Legs is my first book by Kelly Siskind, so I didn’t know what to expect. What a great surprise. Ms. Siskind has delivered a well-written book. It is written in first person, alternating point of view, not my favorite, but it worked in this book. I totally love the characters and humor in this book. Jimmy and Rachel’s story is laugh-out-loud funny with plenty of drama, smokin’ hot sex and tiny bit of angst. This book hooked me from the start and held me captive until the end. I enjoyed reading Legs and look forward to reading more from Kelly Siskind in the future. Legs is book 1 of the One Wild Wish Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
4.5*
Oh how I loved Jimmy! He is just delicious! And Rachel is so relatable and real- even at my age I still sometimes feel like I’m floundering. I definitely felt her pain when it came to figuring out what she wanted to do with her life- I’m still wondering!
Jimmy was so great for Rachel, with the way he was able to make her see her true self- the one she’s kind of kept buried because of who she thought she was supposed to be. She really came into her own over the course of the book. And Rachel was great for Jimmy as well, getting him to see a different side of things when it came to certain aspects of his life.
These two had such great chemistry.
I really loved Jimmy and Rachel’s story. It was entertaining, swoony, frustrating, tense, all in all completely charming! The whole wine country aspect of it was really interesting and fun, and educating as well. I enjoyed getting to know Rachel’s friends and can’t wait for their stories!
Rachel makes a wish on her a birthday and little does she know a hot bad boy named Jimmy. Both are overcoming hurts from their past but can they put the past behind them in order to become each others future? Wow! What a story. I loved Rachel and Jimmy. Rachel is confused about what direction she wants her life but she is a strong character. Jimmy is so full of past hurts and regrets, but his desire for a full life just endears me more to him. The story enthralls me and had me hanging on every word. I love the way Kelly Siskind weaves her writing around her readers. I definitely will be reading more books by her. This is a MUST READ!!!
3.5 Short review. Witty banter, sizzling scenes, family drama, and wine. Rachel and Jimmy and steamy chemistry in and out of the bedroom. Both have baggage that is preventing them from being completely happy that they both have to face and deal with. There’s lots of talk of wine that kinda made me want to try a little.
He’s Going Down is the first installment of One Wild Wish series. Each book is a stand alone and doesn’t have to be read in any particular order.
This book is a Hot Rom-Com that has no cheating, some drama and angst, no cliffhanger and a HEA.
It starts off to a good start, then ebbs off to giving to much detail until it becomes boring and finally back to a good ending with an Epilogue!
This book is the story of Rachel and Jimmy who meet in a bar, have a one night stand, and then end up in the same Wine Sommelier competition. Rachel has 2 besties that are hilarious and Jimmy has fallen out with his family who owns a vineyard. Rachel can’t remember any details of their night together but Jimmy enjoys giving her details here and there.
They both have trust issues and Jimmy wants nothing to do with his family while Rachel goes over the top to get approval from hers. With more time spent together, flirting becomes sex on on any available surface, and then feelings become hard to fight and casual becomes a relationship. A relationship that breaks up and gets back together more than once. Throw more family drama into the mix, a final breakup and a family reunion that ends up with the main characters having a HEA…
Solid 3-Stars, maybe 3.5-Stars, definitely not a 4-Star read. When I first read the book blurb I thought this might be a second chance story. Not that that would make or break a story for me. He’s Going Down is not a second chance story as far as Jimmy and Rachel are concerned. They are total strangers when they meet. It is a second chance story for fixing broken families, finding your dream, and figuring out how to achieve it. It’s a good story and the characters are, for the most part, engaging. They weren’t knock-your-socks-off engaging. There are definitely some funny one-liners and Rachel’s friends, Gwen and Ainsley, are hilarious. Rachel kind of waffled between a goody-two-shoes and a bad girl wannabe. Jimmy? He’s all bad boy biker dude on the outside and total teddy bear gentleman on the inside. The book kept me engaged, but not blown away.
