Instant Love with more complications than you could want
Hers to Love by Eliza Ellis is the first book in the Sisters of Springfield series that I have read. It can definitely be read as a stand-alone but I think that the previous books should be read in order to really get the whole story of the sisters and their bond. With that being said I really did enjoy this lighter contemporary romance story.
Kori had to fight off her bosses advances and assault and then was not only fired but had her reputation so severely damaged that everyone turned their back on her in her industry. But a girl still needs to work, and get money to take down her previous boss and company, so her bestie Sabrina gets her a job as her stepfather’s EA.
Marshall has had a hard go of it the last year. He had a bad divorce, after finding out his wife was cheating on him. He also has not been doing his best for his company and his board has been hinting on wanting to push him out. So he is looking to make some changes and get back on track to save his position and get his live back.
Marshall hires Kori and they have an instant attraction to each other. But things are complicated for both of them. This is a fun story as Marshall and Kori figure out what is really important to each of them and what they can let go of in order to move on.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
I enjoyed this sweet story with very strong characters! Kori and Marshall are great characters with wonderful chemistry. Kori was wrongfully terminated when she did not cave to her bosses advancements. Her friend helps her get a job with Marshall. He is trying to overcome the board and his own issues. This writer continues to amaze me in her story telling and growth as a writer. Her stories just keep getting better.
A great addition to this series but can be read as a stand alone book. The characters are great and you can feel the chemistry between them as you get lost in the story. Eliza Ellis does a fantastic job writing the story so it grabs your attention and holds it throughout the entire book. Definitely a sweet, fun and enjoyable book to add to your reading list.

New title and content
Of all of these reworked and rereleased books by Eliza Ellis, this one seems the most changed to me. I like it. The story is interesting and engaging and the characters are likable.

The storyline was well written and the characters were so well detailed that as I turned each and every page I felt like the characters jumped from the pages and pulled me right into their story as it unfolded!
Kori was fired from her job as personal assistant because she wouldn’t sleep with her boss. She filed a lawsuit against him but needed a job until it went to court. Her best friend gets her a job as her father’s, Marshall, personal assistant. He caught his wife in bed with another man. The divorce has been finial for a year but he’s having a problem trusting again, also the board of his company might vote him out. They’re attracted to each other but because what’s going on in their lives they fill it’s better not to get involved. I really enjoyed this book.
The third book in the Sisters of Springfield series a well written story, I know I want to read the next book. Marshall Buchanan and Kornelia Kaye’s story will have its twists, turns, a man who thinks he is entitled to have what he wants and will make those who thwart him suffer, and there is romance. A story I enjoyed reading. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I truly loved the characters in this story. Kori is a strong woman who is willing to lose everything to stand up for what is right. Marshal is a strong man who recognizes strength and intelligence in others and isn’t intimidated by a strong woman.
I really appreciate the three dimensional characters and how they hold onto what they want and onto what is right even as they might lose their life’s work.
A truly exciting HEA!

Kori was in the middle of a sexual harassment and wrongful termination suit with her former boss when she allows herself to fall for her current employer, her friend Sabrina’s stepfather Marshall. She risked her credibility and her case to be with him. And Marshall knew that if his board found out about their relationship they would use it against her. Hadn’t Kori already been hurt enough by the previous men in her life: her father and her former boss? After everything that happened to her I was rooting for Kori to find happiness, but I don’t think she went about it the right way.
Kori managed to get an assist from her best friend Sabrina after her most recent boss did his best to black ball her as an assistant. Kori had quit after the nasty man attempted to assault her in a chauffeured car in front of the driver.
Threats from her boss resulted in her refusing to play and Kori being fired. She found a lawyer and was working to file suit for sexual assault, but needed revenue to keep her suit going.
Best friend Sabrina offered to seek a job for Kori with her stepfather.
It turns out Marshal has had a rough go since his divorce from a cheating spouse, and his board was more than a bit hungry to clean house, starting with a transition package for Marshall.
Underhanded dealings by her former boss and the board, along with an attraction to Marshall are not going to make this an easy job for Kori.
Funny and intense KU read!

This was a good read. I thought the characters were OK but I really didn’t feel that much chemistry between them. I liked the story concept but would have loved more depth and details to be added to the book. For me this read like a instalove romance and although I do enjoy those, I felt the story was destined to be something deeper and richer. Unfortunately, that level was never reached. So what I thought could have been a great book ended up as only a good one.
A wonderful older man, younger woman romance full of doubts, secrets, protecting the person you love, heartache, passion, and love. Kory is a young woman recently fired from her job after rejecting the advances of her boss, and Marshall is a man lost after a divorce. A . well written story about finding love with a person least expected and overcoming tyrannical bosses and making changes for women. I loved this book.

Very disappointed that instead of focusing on what sounds like an interesting plot, the main character’s insta-lust is the main focus of the short story… Well, at least to the 51% mark. That’s as far as I got.
