My review :
When a misunderstanding torn them apart, now ten years later, will they over come their differences….
I confess Mrs Aubrey Wright is a very prolific author so I do not follow everything she writes, as I tend to settle to historical romance first, still the blurb of this one caught my eyes and at time I like to switch style.
And I am lucky I gave it a try.
Avery did an awesome job at raising her son, she had to give up her dreams but she knows she was rewarded ten times over with the light of her life.
She rebuilt herself and even if they have to count every expenditure, they make do and are happy.
Ray never knew he had a son or he would never have forsaken his relationship with Avery.
He is a hard worker and now he wants to forge a new relationship with her and their son. He does not know where it will drive them but he wants to give it a try.
This is a sweet read with a bit of angst because when they promised to themselves to always say the truth, to avoid a second misunderstanding, Avery by withholding even if unintentionally some details jeopardized their burgeoning new romance. She reproches him his lack of control when she forgot to trust him with some informations.
When of course, some events are visible like a nose in the middle of the face, and I knew where it would lead, I loved the story went further in time and showed how they settled in life and a bit further in time.
This sweet 4.5 stars story portrays in a lovely way two lovers who have to start over to give their new romance a chance.
A special mention for the adorable and funny epilogue.
I was granted an advance copy by the author.
Here is my true and unbiased opinion.

A sweet second chance romance blossomed unexpectedly when Avery found her eleven year old genius son had contacted his father Ray online.
Ray had actually moved on and become successful after his deployment and time in the service. I didn’t really like that he was actually doing quite well without Avery. Their breakup was painfully sad with Avery heartbroken and pregnant with Christopher. I liked her strength of character and the way she singlehandedly raised her son with the help of her friend Melanie.
Christopher was the bright light in this sweet romance with his positive acceptance of Ray back into his life. A bit of drama with both Avery and Ray acting like boneheads before they accepted their feelings for each other and worked their way to a well deserved and satisfying HEA

I like the fact Avery and Ray have a second chance. After a brief fling, Ray leaves on assignment. Avery didn’t know how he really felt about her since he left. Unknowingly, she was pregnant. She doesn’t let him know. When Ray receives a letter from a small boy named Christopher, he is shocked when told he may be his father. The story just gets better. Must read to know how this good story ends. I received this book freely and voluntarily give my honest opinion.
3.5
Not a bad read. Avery and Ray are okay, but need to learn communication and compassion.
But it had 2 things that I just don’t like in a story…an age of a child over a few years old and a genius kid.
We do get our HEA and hot sex!

Ray was heading into combat and on a quick leave he meets Avery. They were hot and heavy together. After Ray leaves Avery discovers she is pregnant. As she calls ray to tell him he hangs up on her. Twelve years later a young boy named Christopher emails Ray and tells him he’s his son. Shocked Ray meets the son he knew nothing about.

3 1/2 stars…Second chance is my favorite trope. While I mostly enjoyed story, I was confused about the descriptions of their son. He’s a month from turning 12 when the story starts, small for his age, but his actions throughout the story make him seem like a younger child. I would have given a full four stars had it not be for the oddness of Christopher and his size, actions, intellect.

This was a great book. The characters were amazing and i couldnt get enough. I wanted the story to just keep going. If i could give it more than 5 stars i would.

A troubled time in the lives of Avery and Ray. Avery misunderstood what Ray communicated. Ray is never new due to being in war and still he is leaving again. What will Ray do when he hears from Christopher? Will he believe him? What will Avery do when she finds out what her son did? Can they get past the past? Can Ray be a father? Can Avery accept him back? Guaranteed you will probably cry a few times.

This book is amazing and I absolutely loved it! A wonderful story about love and second chances, this story takes the reader on a journey through the lives of Ray, Avery and Christopher. Ray and Avery dated when they were younger and Avery thought he was the one. He was in the Army and she was planning on going to Julliard on a scholarship. That is, until she found out she was pregnant. Ray had already been deployed when she found out so she called him to tell him and he hung up right after she told him. She spent the next 12 years being angry with him and raising Christopher on her own with the help of her best friend Mel. The two meet again when Ray is contacted by Christopher by email wanting to meet. This sets Ray and Avery on a path to rebuild their relationship. There are a few bumps along the way as the headmaster of the private school Avery wants to send Christopher propositions her, Ray defends her only to find himself charged with assault and Ray is injured during a concert by a fan carrying a knife. Avery pulls away after the incident with the headmaster, fearing he may hurt her or Christopher. While in the hospital, Ray realizes that he needs to be with Avery and Christopher, not in Hong Kong growing his business. The distance between Avery and Ray has Christopher running to find Ray, only to get himself stuck in a museum exhibit. Ray and Avery clear the air and soon things are progressing as they should with Ray and Avery winning their case against the headmaster and the two agreeing to give their love a chance. It results in a new home, a proposal and wedding and soon the one thing that Christopher has always wanted – a sibling.

I really loved this story. Avery and Ray had an awesome connection and love. Their son was so precious. I understand why things sometimes happen the way they do. It makes me happy when things work out better than expected!!
Holy crap this was fantastic. Gripping. Well detailed. Twists in the storyline that kept my attention from the first page. Couldn’t make myself put it down.
A wonderful well written second chance romance. This engaging storyline was an amazing journey of a boy who seeks out and father and the journey they go through to get their HEA. A beautiful story of misunderstanding/miscommunication set everyone’s lives on a different path till reunited. I voluntarily read and reviewed this incredible ARC that is smooth flowing with an excellent ending going into future years.
As always, Aubrey Wright can write a good story. Hero’s Baby felt rushed in the beginning, but overall delivered in true Aubrey style.
Very predictable and not a lot of angst. Plot line thin
This book was awesome. The characters just pull you into their story.
Avery was a sweetheart. I loved that she was so devoted to her child. Her back story was heart breaking.
Ray was all man and stood by his word. Now he was kind of gobsmacked. When he received a letter from a young boy he did not know. But you will find out the rest of this tale in time.
Now there was a heck of a misunderstanding in this tale and I loved it.
I have to say my favorite character was Christopher. He was such a good kid and I loved how he got his family together. Now Ms Wright could you please write a story of Christopher all grown up?

Avery and Ray were together before a misunderstanding tore them apart. Years later Ray receives an email from a boy claiming to be his son. Avery has know idea that her son has contacted Ray, so you can imagine her surprise when she comes face to face with the man she thought wanted nothing to do with her or their child.I
This was a well written story with great characters and an interesting storyline. Avery and Ray were both likable and had great chemistry. The story had two great supporting characters in Eric and Mel. There was drama, emotions and love.

I really liked Ray and Avery’s story. By the book title I assumed the hero’s baby was actually a baby, so imagine my surprise when he’s not. Lol. It was a great second chance romance/”secret” baby story that was well told. Ray and Avery definitely still had chemistry and Christopher was cute as heck. Then you have the wonderful side characters of Mel and Eric!! The relationship between Ray and Eric was hilariously funny.
