Want me to be a father? Yikes.

Second Chance at Love
Love it! So well-written, guaranteed to pull you into Avery & Ray’s history, keeping you interested in what happens between these two. Even though there’s a 12-year gap when they weren’t together, love is timeless with no boundaries. Once they’re reunited for a short time, questions arise as Avery is seeking reassurance her heart won’t get broken again especially when it comes to her son, Christopher’s feelings & attachment towards Ray. A brilliant way to tie everything together & achieving the HEA.

Once again Aubrey has written a fantastic story! It is well written with well developed characters that will touch your heart. Avery and Ray were in love when they were in high school. Ray went into the military and thru some miscommunication lost touch with Avery. Avery needed to put all of her energy into raising Christopher, their son. Christopher actually became the person who brought them back in touch with each other. He is a sweetie, who you can’t help love. Ray and Avery reconnect but it’s not smooth sailing at all. There are missteps, twists and turns, and wrong directions along the way. This is an amazing story of lost love, reconnections, family and friends, and love. Super amazing read!

This book is so good! From the time Avery and Ray first see each other after so long, all the way til the end you could see the love. Even though neither knows how the other truly feels. Will they get their second chance?

A beautiful second chance romance. It was a fast paced story with both joy and sadness.

I think this book had potential. It gave too many details on things that could have been left out which made it longer than necessary. I lost interest a few times because it was boring in some parts. I did like the fact that Avery and Ray had a second chance at love but I wish it would have included more of them dating and getting to know one another again.

This is beautiful story focused on love and a second chance.
It is the type of story that clutches you at once and does not release you until you get to the end – then you find yourself pining over the fact that the book has ended.
I loved how the relationship unfolded so we could see these amazing characters grow in ways they never expected.

This is a fun entertaining short second chance at love story. Avery is a single mom, who`s son Christopher contacted his father online. You are soon enraptured into their story and why Avery raised her son alone. It is a marvelous touching story which I don’t want to spoil for you.

I received an arc for an honest review. This book brings us Avery and Ray. Avery and Ray were together years before, when Ray entered the Army. Unbeknown to him, Avery was pregnant and had a son. Christopher writes a note to Ray and asks to see him. Ray thinks its some kind of prank, however, he does show up. He is so surprised to find out about Christopher. Avery wants nothing to do with him – as she thinks he knew about the pregnancy and wanted nothing to do with them. After a series of talks, they both realize that they both made mistakes, and a beautiful hea happens. I highly recommend this book.
My First Thought When Reading This Book? “A Child Will Lead Them”. I’m not wrong.
Christopher, the little child I mentioned, wants his mom to be happy. He decides to lend a helping hand. The story takes off from there.
This is a wonderful love story. Just enough steam, enough tears, enough angst, enough laughs and smiles, and the very best happily ever after ending that all combine to make a great book. I’m a fan!
The storyline is unique enough to hold my interest. The characters are engaging and play well against each other. The story is well worth the read!
This story had all the right feels when it came to the two main characters, Avery and Ray. At one point, they were in love. War and miscommunication tear them apart. For years, they move on without each other. Both of them believing something that isn’t true about the other. The difficulty that Avery has when the truth finally comes out is heartbreaking because so many of us can relate to holding onto something that perhaps isn’t quite the entire truth. Through anger and loss, joy can also be found when you least expect it. This is especially true for Ray as he seems like the type of man that is way too serious about everything he does in life, but he’s got scars to remind him why.
I really enjoyed this story of Avery, Ray, and Christopher. In truth, Christopher is the *STAR* of the book. The kid is just so capable of handling things that adults don’t seem to understand. Well written, HEA, and no cliffhangers. What more could you want?
How would you feel to suddenly run into your first love. This is what happens to Avery and Ray after a decade of being apart. So much has happened in their lives. Can they find a way back to each other? Hero’s Baby is the story of how Avery and Ray get through all the hidden history of their lives. I enjoyed the book and the story of their lives apart and together. An enjoyable read for those that like a happy ending.
I love these second chance romances. Ray Lancaster gets an email out of the blue from someone claiming to be his son and he decides to meet him since he is back in Seattle. Avery Stuart has not seen Ray since he was in the military and then he broke her heart 12 years ago. Avery told him she was pregnant and Ray hung up on her. What a coincidence that it’s Christopher’s email that brings Ray back in Avery’s life.
After clearing up the misunderstanding, Ray and Avery take things slow not sure they are still the same people they were 12 years ago. They are clearly still in love with each other and the journey is sweet and a great second chance romance.. I love Ms. Wright’s books.
Avery is a single mother doing the best she can to raise her son while working menial jobs to make ends meet. Ray is a former soldier now running his own security firm when he gets an unusual request that would forever change his life.
I enjoyed reading this book. It tended to get overly explanatory at times. The characters were extremely well realized. The story line was good and allowed character development.

Trying to write a review without spoilers is hard work, especially for this book.
Inner dialogue tells the story of two lovers who need to decide if they will allow more miscommunication to keep them apart. Each character has their own hang ups that overwhelm their thoughts and actions.
The reader quickly falls in love with Christopher, cheering for him the entire story.
Overall- a simple story that never lets you doubt what the characters are thinking.

this is a tremendously entertaining tale about love rekindled after more than a decade of separation, throw in an over-protective best friend, a bit of PTSS and a lecherous headmaster and you will have you pulse racing as your eyes try to keep up with your mind as you do your best to speed-read from page to page

I really enjoyed this second chance/secret baby romance, it is well-written with a fast-paced sweet and emotional storyline. The chemistry between the characters is steamy, even all these years later it’s still there. I loved both main characters, Ray and Avery are both wonderful, even Christopher was great. Definitely recommend.
This was a 3.5-4 read
12 years wasted all because of a communication misunderstanding.
This was a very easy and enjoyable read. Really enjoyed this second chance romance
