The first time I laid eyes on Lydia Decker, I couldn’t speak. Or breathe. Or string two coherent thoughts together. And I don’t mean any of that figuratively.I’m not talking about a guy being floored by the sight of a gorgeous woman – although, of course, Lydia is gorgeous beyond words. No, when I first laid eyes on Lydia Decker – my physical therapist – I was lying flat on my back in the ICU, high … high as a kite on painkillers, breathing on a ventilator, my bones as broken and splintered as my spirit. When I first laid eyes on Lydia Decker, she was a ray of light in the dark. Hope for the hopeless. A salve for my singed and battered soul. She said she’d been assigned to fix me. That she was there to bring me back to life. She said helping me was her calling. And then she touched me. Physically, emotionally, spiritually. She healed me.And I fell in love. But what I didn’t know…what I couldn’t possibly know…was that Lydia Decker needed fixing far more than I ever did.

Heartbreaking, sweet, sexy, and tender!
I read Keane’s book a few years ago. I’ve been meaning to go back and read all but my TBR tends to distract. So when I saw these were in the Audible Romance Package, I decided it was time to revisit the Morgans. I floved Colby!! He’s so strong, witty, understated, sexy, and simply awesome!! And Lydia is amazing!! I loved their journey. She’s trying to help fix him and he realizes she needs some repairs herself. I love the family interactions in this series!! And Colby and Lydia are simply wonderful!!
Love is an infinity cake
Colby Morgan. Eldest of the Morgan Mafia, a tight tribe of siblings. The protector. The lighthouse. The observer. The hero.
Lauren Rowe’s fans have waited a long time for his story, and it was absolutely worth the wait. Catching glimpses of his stoicism and sweetness in the other Morgan brother’s books have left me yearning for Colby’s book. It doesn’t disappoint. It was everything I’d hoped it would be and so much more. Colby’s dreams coming true is the best thing ever, and his happily ever after brought a huge smile to my face.
This book was everything I’ve come to expect from Lauren Rowe. Smart writing, witty banter, steamy sexy times, and lots and lots of love.
Hero is about second chances and a love that last forever
I had read one other book by Lauren Rowe and was hooked but after reading Hero I became an avid fan. Lauren’s unique way of intertwining humor, drama and gut-wrenching emotions amazes me. Hero is about second chances and a love that last forever. After almost dying, Colby Morgan is fighting for his life when when Lydia Decker walks into his room as his physical therapist. Lydia’s first husband was a police officer killed in the line of duty so when she heard of Colby’s tragedy she rushes to the families side to offer hope and support. What happens after is a love story to span the ages. Hero is sweet, fun and sexy with lots of drama and of course hope.
GET THE KLEENEX
I knew the oldest Morgan was going to have a great story. I wasn’t expecting it to be so emotional and awe inspiring. The way this man truly is a hero through and through and how he truly cares for all of those in his life.
Colby (Cheese) Morgan is fearless, adorable and determined to make Lydia Decker his. Even in the midst of severe pain and lots of painkillers. Theirs is a romance that can’t even begin until weeks and weeks after they meet! Professionalism and scorching heat are at odds but make the culmination so much sweeter. Throw in 3 adorable and opinionated kids, then you get a barrel of giggles and fun. I love the Morgan’s and the Faradays. I adore. Lydia and her children. Together they are unbeatable! Lauren Rowe has done it again. Great work!
If you 100% Love insta-love, than this book is totally for you. 2 characters merge their lives together after some tragic life altering situations. Where love is questioned and life changes in a instant. – Tisha
If you haven’t picked up this book by the fabulous Lauren Rowe, you should! I just got started and can’t put it down!
Hero was my introduction to the Morgan Brothers and I have to say this book sent me on a roller coaster of a ride. Hands down I need to read this whole series if this is the sort of books the author writes! Love the characters so much!
Highly entertaining, couldn’t put it down. Loved it!
First Lauren Rowe book and definitely not my last.
When her husband is killed in the line of duty Lydia is left alone with two soon to be three children. A few years later a chance meeting with a patient suffering from an injury leads to some scorching romance.
Colby is a firefighter and once he meets Lydia the sparks ignite. He exudes such selflessness when he learns of her past and whole heartedly longs to have Lydia and her kids become his family.
These two go through such heartache together and come out stronger for it. Lauren wrote their story line so beautifully it nearly broke my heart at times. The kids made me laugh and filled my heart with the love they had for Colby by the end.
Gah! This book checked every box next to all the emotions it had me feeling. It’s original with a pop of aspiration. Colby Morgan (the eldest of the Brother of the Morgan clan) is a f*cking hero to everyone! Well, except that one girl in the beginning. But, you get the picture.
Lydia was the perfect match to this man. A beautiful, widowed, single mother of three. These two were a match made in heaven. The support they give to one another made me gush and fall in love with their story. Every single supporting character served as an extra topping on a banana split sundae. Seriously!!! I loved everything about this book!
I have become a rising fan of this author and her narration on her books is a plus! Loved John Lane too! His voice was perfect for the role of Colby! A++
Hero (The Morgan Brothers, #1) was another great read by Lauren Rowe. Colby Morgan is a firefighter who was injured in a fire. He knew that once he laid eyes on Lydia, she was the woman for him. Lydia is now his physical therapist while in the ICU. They both have things that need to be fixed about each other. I really enjoyed Colby and Lydia’s story and can’t wait to read more by Lauren Rowe.
A heartbreakingly and emotionally beautiful. I enjoyed everything about this story. It was an unexpected treat.
This is yet another series that gets better and better. The language between the brothers is a little…unbelievable at times, but it seems to work in this setting.
This is a great story! It’s heartfelt as well as funny. Colby is adorable. The connection is easily felt between these two from the beginning. Lydia’s kids are adorable! Their voices and actions! I love it!
This family is a hoot! I love so many things about them. But my favorite thing is the nicknames. I love them all! I am going to need to listen to this again because I am sure I missed some of them.
I did listen to this on audio. The narrators did a great job. Making this such and enjoyable listen.
This. Book. I loved it!! Came out of nowhere, drew me in, and kept me hooked. You will not regret reading this book – and the whole series!!
OMG! What to say about this AMAZING BOOK! I stayed up way past my bedtime. I loved it–I loved how raw and relatable the characters were. And man was it steamy. I rarely if ever cry in books, and this one had me bawling in the first chapter.
I so want to be part of the Morgan family!
Kat, Peeny, Captain Morgan now Colby, I love this family and have enjoyed each one of their story’s but Hero, OMG…
I cried, swooned, laughed, awed, Hero was everything I love in a book and more.
I started this book with tears in my eyes reading Lydia’s tragic loss then when Colby nearly died rescuing a baby I was in awe of his bravery.
Both incidences brought together two amazing characters that are so right for each other.
“You’re the silver lining to the worst cloud of my life, Lydia”.
Such a beautiful love story but filled with lots of family moments, laugh out loud moments and fan yourself down hotness too.
Another brilliant read by Lauren Rowe and I got my Morgan family fix once again.
Told in dual pov and leads to a hea. Can be read as a standalone.
Hero is the first book I read by Ms. Rowe. I think I’ve been missing out on a great author!! I love slow burn tear-jerkers and Hero has it in spades. No spoilers here, but if you love cocky, in-your-face alphas and feisty heroines, you’re gonna love this story. I couldn’t put it down.
I have always attempted to give ‘star’ ratings on my completed reads, just as a tracking method for my titles that I have completed. I have unlimited packages for audio, kindle, and utilize the local/state library.
However, I do not check the ‘I recommend this book’ unless I am willing to reread a book and or a series.
[I read about 5-15 books a month through kindle, and I listen to about 15-30 books monthly]
I have a full life as a nurse, professor, wife, daughter [daughter in law], sister, and mother. I love to read and love a thousand other lives by turning the pages in countless books.
Thank you for the opportunity to provide a review. Happy reading 🙂
Moving, funny and steamy
I’d read (and really liked) the Club trilogy when it first came out, but this author had kind of fallen off my radar until I had a chance to read the newest Morgan Brothers book, Rockstar. I think I was about halfway through when I paused just long enough to add the rest of the Morgan books and the remaining Club series books to my TBR, lol. Note that though this was the 3rd book published in the series, the recommended reading order per the author has this first.
First responder books are one of my favorite sub genres within romance; between that and the introduction I got in Dax’s book, I was pretty sure I was going to love Colby, and I wasn’t disappointed. The book started with Lydia, though, and what a heartbreaking beginning it was. I really felt for her—and it was a great setup for the book, knowing that Colby was waiting for her on the other side. I thought the author did a really nice job not only with Lydia’s grief and occasional feelings of guilt, but how Lydia dealt with the perils of Colby’s job as well. Colby was not only loving and caring with her, I also loved how he was with Lydia’s kids, and his comfort level felt realistic to me given his role as the oldest of the Morgan clan and his relationship with his siblings.
As usual with this kind of series, Colby’s family had a big role. I loved the banter between the siblings and how supportive his family was along the way. Lydia’s kids had a big part to play as well, and they all added a lot to the story for me.
With a story that was moving, funny and steamy by turns, the oldest Morgan brother won my heart, and I’m pretty sure it’s a book I’ll be rereading in the future. Now on to the Captain! 5+ stars
