Hereditary Magic
Blood and Bone Legacy Book 1
Suzanne M Sabol
Great Book. The characters were wonderful, and I loved the storyline. I could not put the book down.
I found this book to be a very good read. It has lots of magic, mystery, suspense and drama. Looking forward to reading the next book.

I voluntarily read an arc of this book for an honest review. ***spoilers*** I’m not sure where to even start with this book. It’s one of the most frustrating books I’ve ever read. There are parts of the book I loved and there are also huge plot holes and time jumps that leave you wondering what happened. The book felt like it was mostly about Brittany eating. It talks in depth about how much she loves sugar, cinnamon rolls, cookies and the like and not in depth enough about her supposed power. It’s implied throughout the book how powerful she is but she never does anything that’s powerful, not really. It implies all these times she’s saved lives but we never read about them. She whines and literally cries constantly and is stupid to a fault. When she meets a mysterious witch who just came to town right after the murders start and refused to see it could be her. When she just wants a friend like her even though Wynne does shady things, when even after she knows it’s her which comes to her out of nowhere she still wants to trust her. Ev her werewolf bff is always with her and each has feelings for the other but it’s confusing and vague. I get when an author has a relationship build but this wasn’t that. When a string of murders start in her town she and Everett are called in to investigate. All they ever did was show up at crime scenes and then…nothing. She looks through grimoires but essentially that’s it. I felt like this was a book to nowhere. At first I thought there would be back fill like in some books where you get background as you go. Then I thought maybe I was missing info like from a previous book but none of that happened or would have made a difference. I finished this book feeling nothing but frustration over a book that could have been so good but fell short of the mark because of missing connections in the story. I absolutely loved the premise of this book, Ev was sexy and mysterious. Brittany could have been better, she was always disheveled and dirty and eating, where was the awesome power? I did see some promise but again it just never materialized even when she ultimately saved the day at the end it was just meh. I’m really hoping this author improves by making those little connections and filling those time holes as this series progresses since this ends in a cliffhanger and could be really good.
