Jewelry designer Kat Ramos comes to Banshee Creek to break the infamous Hagen House curse. To do so she must marry Liam Hagen, embrace her witchy heritage, and solve a centuries-old murder. Will she be able to do it, or will the Hagen House curse lead to her death?
Here Comes the Witch is Book 1 in the Main Street Witches series. The series is a spinoff the author’s other series Banshee Creek. I did not read the original series, so I came into this one as a newbie. I found it didn’t affect my reading of the book.
Kat Ramos travels to the haunted town of Banshee Creek to help undo a deadly curse. The solution? She must marry one of the locals!
Get ready for a lighthearted, easy read full of witchy magic and humorous references. Overall, I found Here Comes the Witch to be entertaining. The plot centered more around romance than mystery (I would have preferred the other way around, but that’s my personal opinion!). There are sometimes bits of the book that seem a little heavy for a cozy, but overall, the book achieves a nice, light read with plenty of entertainment and spooky fun!
Fun magical adventure!
Great characters, Quirky little town, and Sass to spare, what more could I want?! Good laughs, a bit of mystery and some romance round out the fun
I love Main Street Witches Series. I’ve read three of four and they are edged more into the paranormal, but please read Banshee Creek Series first. I enjoy how all the characters intertwine from book to book, series to series.
*****SPOILER ALERT*****
I thoroughly enjoy the fake marriage trope and this does not disappoint. I would have like to see more of Kat’s development as a witch, but the author does a very good job of it with the limited length of this book.

Another delightful addition to the Banshee Creek mystique! There are witches alive and dead, a malevolent haunting, a jewelry designer from NYC, a faux marriage, a curse, an old mystery, and all the fun and craziness we’ve come to enjoy from Ani Gonzalez and Banshee Creek. No spoilers here, and the publisher’s blurb will provide some clues. The characters really are, and the town probably counts as a character as well. Each of Ms Gonzalez’s books can easily stand alone, but treat yourself to as many as you can afford. You certainly won’t regret it!
Marriage to break a curse, in Banshee Creek, just another day at the office. Seems like something is missing though and while our couple is trying to figure that out, looks like they fell in love. And in her spare time our heroine discovers she’s a witch, wow, that wasn’t in her genealogy. Banshee Creek just keeps growing on you.
Mix of cosy mystery and PNR romance.
Kat has finally got her jewellery shop and is about to end a curse that has plagued her family for generations. But she never figured on sharing her familys home with a complete stranger! And just why does she have to pretend to be married to this handsome but infuriating man!?!?!?!
With a ghostladen town touted to the occult tourists and a lovely romance between Kat and Liam, there is something for everyone. The towns ghostly inhabitants seem to be almost “normal” whilst those contained within the house are downright nasty!!
Kat and Liam get married (meet for first time at wedding) in order to break a curse on their families. Did it work or is it more to it than simply saying I do? Of course they are attracted to each other, what’s a good romance without chemistry? 🙂 I liked that this was a spin off (sort of) of the Banshee Creek series. Loved that series and have read all but one of them, I’m working on it. I love paranormal books and movies and romance so this was a win win for me. Ani did a great job of slowly revealing the curse and all of the false beliefs involved in breaking the curse. Kat and Liam made the sweetest couple. Looking forward to book 2.
