Sam Parker is a vampire with a gift so strong and substantial that she is invited to partake in a test for a place in the Grand High Master Vampire’s private legion. She finds that not only has the army never included a woman, but it has never included a Sventé vampire – a breed that is regarded by the super strong Pagori breed and the hypnotically beautiful Keja breed to be too tame and … human-like. Most refuse to take her seriously, especially dangerous Pagori commander, Jared, who she craves in spite of herself. The Grand High Master, however, sees her potential and offers her the position of Jared’s co-commander to help train the newest squad in time for the impending attack on his island. Sam has to demonstrate to Jared and the squad of chauvinists why it is incredibly foolish to underestimate a wilful, temperamental, borderline-homicidal Sventé female.
Warning: This novel contains an iron-willed female vampire with an energy whip, a sexist male vampire who is determined to have her, explicit vampy sex, and a romance story with real bite.

Narrating was good and so was the story. I think I would have loved the story if I’d listened/read it before Dark in You because of the similarities. Still, very enjoyable
I have read this series MANY MANY times and I Loved this book! Love this series! LOVE THIS AUTHOR!
Sarcasm galore.. I laughed and laughed. Every. Single. Book!
Discovering this book made for a fun, happy day – especially when I realised there were more stand alone books in the series. Love the sassy heroine, and how the characters have plenty of flaws, but are loved and accepted regardless. Great sexy, fun vampire world building.
With her normal humor and storytelling, Suzanne Wright did an entertaining take on vampires.
I loved Sam and her sarcastic self. The story was great, the characters were well written, and the humor was good.
Totally recommend!

Samantha “Sam” Parker is a Sventé vampire, chief assassin and a feeder. She was invited by Sebastian, a tracker, and offered her to partake in a test to be in the Grand High Master Vampire’s private army.
Jared Michaels one of the commanders in The Hollow and the Heir of the Grand High Master, Antonio, is one of the facilitator of the test.
The story is told in dual POV so it’s great to see both sides and know what the characters think throughout the story. I have also read some vampire books and this one always gets me. This is I think is the 4th maybe the 5th time I read this and I always, always, always love Sam’s and Jared’s banter. The other characters were a hit especially Fletcher. I love how fierce Sam is and how brave and strong she is. What I love about Jared is how protective he is. I also love how they don’t fight their attraction too much, just enough to spice things up and have the readers anticipate each page.
Each one is cleverly crafted page-turner.
I won’t say too much but I have a lot of good things in mind about this book. One of the series I highly, highly, highly recommend.
Favorite Quotes:
“You did good, you work hard. But it doesn’t end there. You’ve got goals to hit, don’t lose sight of them.”
“What? Who? Oh you mean that cross between a whippet and a witch. Personally, I don’t how he can shag something that looks like it’s just escaped from Azkaban.”
“God I loved this woman: this very crazy, borderline-homicidal – on second thought, scrap the borderline – woman.”
After reading this book I simply HAD to read the rest in this series!
3,5 stars
After reading the book ‘Burn’ from this writer, I was curious about Suzanne Wright her other books. So I decide to read ‘Here be sexist vampires’. And although I enjoy this story, I loved Burn more. ‘Here be sexist vampires’ is one of Suzanne Wright’s early books and that’s noticeable in the writing. But that doesn’t mean that the story isn’t good. Like I said before I enjoyed it and it has me curious enough to be reading the next book in this series.
In this story, the vampire world exist out of three sort of vampires, you have the Sventé breed, the very strong Pagori breed and the beautiful Keja breed. Samantha ‘Sam’ Parker is sadly a Sventé vampire and this is sad because this vampire breed is considered the lowest of the three breeds. But all three vampire breeds do have something in common, they all have a gift. This gift changes from vampire to vampire. And Sam has a very special, unique gift. This gift of her attracts the attention of a very high and powerful vampire, who invites her to partake in a test for a place in the Grand High Master Vampire’s private army. This isn’t only a great honor but for Sam it’s also a way to escape her bad sire. So after some thinking Sam accepts this invitation. But pretty soon it becomes obvious to Sam that this test won’t be easy, not only is she the first woman who got an invitation but also the first Sventé vampire who got one. And it doesn’t help that the Pagori-commander Jared isn’t a big fan of women in the army. Sam does her best and she even wins every challenge but Jared isn’t convinced that Sam, a woman, deserve a place in the private army of The Grand High Master. Luckily for Sam, Antonio, The Grand High Master, himself believes in her, so he gives her another job in his private army. Sam will be Jared’s co-commander. Jared isn’t really happy about that and he doesn’t hide this for anyone but he also can’t hide the fact he wants her in his bed. So now not only must Sam prove herself against Jared and their squad of arrogant male soldiers that she must train but she’s also fighting against this big attraction between Jared and her. And as that isn’t bad enough, they are being told that a big attack is coming their way. Will Sam get the new squad ready on time for the fight and what about Jared? Can she make him see that she does deserve a place in The Grand High Master’s army? And what to do with this attraction between them?
So many questions and so little time.
Sam had a very strong personality and she spoke her mind for everyone to hear. She never hold back. I really like that about her but what had me really cheering for her was the way that she dealt with all those arrogant vampire men and their big ego. I loved that! Although I wasn’t really sure what to think about Jared, slowly and bit by bit he stole my heart. I, especially, liked his special lovemaking techniques.
So why did I give this book only 3,5 stars? There was one thing that annoyed me about this story and that was the fact that everyone was giggling! Alpha, dominant men that giggle?! That bothered me a little bit. But the story intrigued me enough for reading more of this series.
This book has everything you expect in a Suzanne Wright book. Filled to the brim with action and adventure, witty banter, a kickass heroine, sexy alpha males, and sex scenes that will melt your panties!
I loved all the amazing details and characteristics we learned about each vampire. She explained each individual vampire so amazing and really makes you feel like you’re right there with them, living in The Hollow (where they live).
Sam gives Jared a run for his money, refusing to bow to him like he’s used to females doing. She is very independent and takes no shit from anyone, happily putting them in their place when needed. Let’s just say, Jared needs it quite a bit. He’s an ass but you quickly become fond of him. These two are hilarious and has me laughing out loud repeatedly. Can’t wait for MORE!
